00:02Senator Rand Paul explained why he missed President Donald Trump's Senate Republican lunch,

00:07and it turns out, it wasn't his choice.

00:10Trump recently greeted Senate Republicans from across the U.S. at a reception at the White House Rose Garden Club.

00:17During his speech, the president highlighted his administration's achievements

00:20while subtly taking a jab at Paul for not supporting the Genius Act and the Take It Down Act.

00:26Trump praised the administration's work in passing several acts.

00:30We've confirmed more than 175 public servants, people that are phenomenal to key posts,

00:36and that's just been over the last couple of weeks.

00:39It's an unbelievable thing what we've done, with all of you together, Trump said.

00:43So, working closely with me and the House majority,

00:46the Republican Senate also gave us the largest working-class tax cut in American history,

00:51and you passed the Lakin-Riley Act to throw illegal alien criminals out of our country.

00:56You passed the Genius Act and the Take It Down Act with the support of our wonderful First Lady.

01:03The president went on to praise First Lady Melania Trump for her efforts,

01:07but Paul didn't receive the same recognition.

01:10She got, by the way, she got actual support from the other side.

01:13It was bipartisan. I think Rand didn't vote for it again.

01:15I think it was only Rand, Trump said.

01:19We had bipartisan support other than maybe Rand, he repeated, prompting laughter from several senators.

01:25Soon after Trump wrapped up his speech, Paul took to X to explain his absence from the event.

01:30He revealed he was attending a previously scheduled lunch with Representative Thomas Massey instead.

01:35I actually wasn't invited to the White House lunch today, but that's okay.

01:39I had a previously scheduled Liberty Caucus lunch, with it Massey for Kentucky.

01:43He captioned a photo of himself sitting beside his fellow Republican.

01:47Trump recently called for Congress to give Massey the boot, raging on truth social,

01:51third-rate Congressman Thomas Massey, a weak and pathetic Reno from the great Commonwealth of Kentucky,

01:56a place I love, and one big six times, must be thrown out of office ASAP.

02:01Massey drew Trump's ire by leading the charge to force a House vote on a full disclosure on the remaining Jeffrey Epstein files.
