The Malaysia Semiconductor IC Design Park is central to the country’s goal of developing its first locally designed chip by 2027 or 2028, said Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.
Speaking at the launching ceremony of the Malaysia Semiconductor IC Design Park 2 in Cyberjaya on Thursday (Nov 6), Amirudin said the state government has partnered with Artem Venture Fund to launch the RM100mil Selangor Semiconductor Fund (Ehsan Capital) in November 2025, to invest in at least seven local semiconductor startups and drive Malaysia’s shift from a technology user to an innovator.
