00:00With the girls, the way you all celebrated, it was such an emotional moment that day.
00:04How's the feeling like you're the world champions? Has it sunk in?
00:08Thank you very much for the wishes.
00:11Slowly it's sinking in, but what a night it was.
00:17It was one of the best nights of my life.
00:20Amazing feeling.
00:22And the players were right at the center.
00:29They were really emotional.
00:31But that's what it meant for them to win a World Cup.
00:35Of course, sir.
00:35The performance of the girls, could you have asked for more consider the fact that the start wasn't as you would have liked.
00:42But then to claw your way back, coming into the semi-final, beating a team like Australia,
00:47where you're on a team match winning streak for the World Cup.
00:51And to beat that team and get into the final, how was that?
00:55It's been surreal.
00:56You know, this entire campaign has been surreal.
00:59We started off nicely with two wins, and then we lost those matches.
01:04You know, loss is a very harsh word, I feel.
01:07We just couldn't go and cross a line on those occasions.
01:14But the way these players came back and fought it out in the middle, it just goes to show what characters they are.
01:24And the fight that they showed against Australia, you know, Australia has been a dominant force in World Cricket.
01:31And the way they came back against Australia, and then the finals, you know, it happened.
01:50And the emotions were all absolutely flowing.
01:54So it's just an amazing campaign.
01:57And I'm really happy and thrilled for these girls that they've become world champions.
02:01Of course, I'm talking about the way of final pressure, because you've beaten the Australians,
02:06and it was such an emotionally charged match as well, you've beaten the world champions Australia.
02:10And then getting into the final, the job was not done yet, because that was just a milestone or stepping stone.
02:16And then you had the all-important final match.
02:19So considering that final match, how crucial it was for you as a coach,
02:22to keep the girls focused, and yes, you won the big battle, but the real trophy needs to be conquered now.
02:30How challenging it was for you to keep them all focused for the final stage at the moment?
02:35Look, 30th October was the day when we beat Australia in the semi-finals.
02:41The euphoria was huge, as you would know, that everyone was celebrating that win,
02:49because Australia has been such a dominant force in women's cricket for the last two decades.
02:55I don't know how many decades, actually.
02:57But, yeah, it was important to be in 2nd November and focus on 2nd November,
03:07because if you would have stayed in the euphoria of 30th October, then things wouldn't have gone our way.
03:12So it was very important to get back to reality that we are into the finals,
03:16but, yes, this is the last hurdle to cross.
03:20And credit to everyone that we stayed in the present,
03:24and 2nd November has been etched into Indian cricket's history
03:29that the women's team has gone on to become the world champions.
03:33And this is because of the fact that we have been in Mumbai.
03:35And in Mumbai, there is a story that we have started in the first class.
03:40And you will not play international, but today you will see the world champion coach.
03:43How are you getting out of that?
03:44Now, you are not here?

06:29the players and the support staff as well. It was a surreal moment and which will be
06:34cherished by everyone, all 37 of us who were there, present, we will cherish those moments
06:42throughout our life.
06:43How are you meeting with the President? How are you meeting with Bharati Rajput?
06:49Again, you know, we are into that bubble only. You know, yesterday it was the Honourable
06:56Prime Minister and today it is the Honourable President that we are going to meet. It
07:04has been unreal for the last 3-4 days and may it continue. But we are very excited for
07:11this opportunity.
07:12I am not a dramatic person. I am the one who I am. I have not seen social media last
07:192 months. That is something which I had promised myself that I am not a very good person. I
07:25have not seen social media last 2 months. That is something which I had promised myself
07:31that, you know, I will just stay away from this because I wanted to get into the high pressure
07:46tournament as this World Cup. So, I am not able to do any changes but it is amazing how people
07:52are receiving it, the love and the happiness that they are sharing on the social media and
08:07everywhere else. It is just amazing to see. India is a great country.
08:11I hope so. It has been, oh, I have always said this, that it is a watershed moment for, I
08:27wouldn't say Indian cricket team. I would say for Indian sports, it is a watershed moment that
08:36this team, what this team has achieved. Hopefully, you know, it goes on and we can break some barriers
08:45from here on.
