U.S. President Donald Trump declared that America remains the world’s number one nuclear power, followed by Russia and China, but hinted that all three might soon pursue a joint plan to “denuclearise.” Speaking at a rally, Trump said his administration has rebuilt the U.S. military, renamed the “Department of Defense” back to the “Department of War,” and is investing $1 trillion in defense this year. He warned that China could catch up to America’s nuclear capabilities within five years, even as he floated the idea of a possible disarmament pact between the world’s top three powers.
