00:06Went to a Liverpool football match in Sheffield
00:09an FA Cup semi-final, an occasion of joy
00:13And they never came home to their families
00:17those victims and their families
00:20their strength, their courage
00:23their refusal to give up
00:26a determination no matter what was thrown at them
00:29to fight for people they'll never know or meet
00:33to make sure that they never go through something like this again
00:37They are the reason we stand here today with this bill
00:41they are the reason why it will be known as the Hillsborough Law
00:45To Margaret, Steve, Charlotte, Sue, Jenny, Hilda
00:49and every single member of families affected by Hillsborough
00:53I know that's what they really want
00:56is not thanks or acclaim
00:59They want change
01:01And they have waited 36 long years for change
01:05And so, Madam Deputy Speaker, it is my honour
01:09as Prime Minister to have brought the Hillsborough Law
01:12before this House
01:14and to open today's debate
01:16it should never have taken this long
01:18But we are here now
01:20And we must get it over the line
01:22a legacy of justice, change and national renewal
01:25for the 97
01:27That is what we are here to deliver today
