00:00When the 2008 crisis happened, I noted that the ones responsible for the meltdown were all from Ivy League institutions.

00:09There is nobody who teaches us this distinction between dream and greed.

00:13Dreams can turn into greed very quickly, right?

00:16When the 2008 crisis happened, and I was just five years out of IIM at that point,

00:21and all of my batchmates were in the same banks that collapsed,

00:25and I noted that the ones responsible for the meltdown were all from Ivy League institutions.

00:33Not just IIM Ahmedabad, I'm talking of Howard, Wharton, Kellogg's, all the fancy names.

00:39And what is it that they gave to the world?

00:40A huge crisis that resulted not only in economic hardship, but actually a lot of deaths.

00:46How did they do that?

00:47Because they were not educated in the self.

00:49That's the problem.

00:50We never look at ourselves and ask, who am I?

00:53And therefore, what do I need?

00:54That question is never, never raised in our classrooms.

00:58Who are you?

00:59Self.

00:59That word is entirely missing from our curricula.

01:03Self.

01:03You're taught mathematics and management and engineering, science, languages, polity, sociology, literature.

01:11But who is it that receives all the knowledge?

01:13The self.

01:14And the self is never taught.

01:16How wise is that?
