00:00The 27 government contractors only have 10 days to respond to the show cause order issued by the Commission on Elections regarding their donations to certain candidates during the 2022 elections.
00:12According to COMELEC Chair George Irwin Garcia, suspected corporations have to submit explanations directly to the Commission's Political and Finance Affairs Department.
00:23Hearings will also be held to listen to the side of contractors scheduled on November 21st.
00:28Following this, the COMELEC will also request the candidates who benefited from the donations from these contractors to explain.
00:35COMELEC has not revealed any names yet, but among them are six senatorial candidates, five party list lawmakers, four representatives, three governors, two vice governors, and one councillor.
