In rural Wales, British preppers are ramping up for potential disasters as global tensions rise. Leigh Price, owner of The Bug Out shop, guides citizens on survival skills, from building grab bags to using crossbows, amid fears of war, societal collapse, and emergencies. Preppers emphasize food, water, and shelter as essentials, warning that crises—from floods to conflict—could strike suddenly. With the growing prepper community in the UK and lessons drawn from global events, many are preparing to survive whatever comes next.

00:00There are nights in these tents when I was in the army.
00:10Supercatch.
00:12Ready?
00:14Oh, straight for the tent.
00:31Being prepared, or preppers, right?
00:34It's a term that's chucked about.
00:36Oh, you're a prepper.
00:37You're a tin-out wearing nut job, you know?
00:39Because you're a prepper.
00:40Well, not really.
00:41I'm just a person, you know, the majority of British preppers are just people
00:45who just like to make sure they are prepared.
00:48You know, that's what preparedness is.
00:50Emergency preparedness.
00:51You're preparing for an emergency.
00:52And that emergency could be zombie apocalypse, right?
00:56Or it could be, like I say, you're losing your job
00:58and you've got no money coming in.
00:59You know, what things have you got in place to secure yourself for a few months?
01:03Or they say your car breaks down in the middle of nowhere.
01:05Or you're in your home and, you know, there's alarm going off.
01:09There's a flood risk and you have to get out of your house.
01:11You know, you've got minutes to grab stuff.
01:13We've seen it in America, do we?
01:15Was it earlier in the year in Hollywood?
01:18Or wherever it was, Beverly Hills,
01:20some of the richest people in the world, right?
01:22And they had minutes to grab their stuff because of fire.
01:24Mel Gibson and all that lost all their homes.
01:26So you're talking wealthy people here with all, you know,
01:30all the stuff they got in it.
01:33And they were fun wanting, weren't they?
01:35They had to leave the house pretty quick with just the clothes in their back, basically.
01:38Now, if you're prepared, you would have a go bag or prepared, you know, bug out bag.
01:42So if something like that happens, you can grab stuff and go.
01:45It would work like they were a magnet on the bottom of it sticking onto it.
01:57Oh, they don't they?
01:58Yeah, they would get this, bend it, usually like, lean on it or anything.
02:04Get the string on, dead accurate.
02:05Yeah, nice.
02:07That's basically a stringer they call it a stringer.
02:10It's basically a stringer, they call it a stringer.
02:11It's a little bit of mullet.
02:13But you put that on first, you cock that.
02:15Yeah.
02:16A bag, or grab bag, is just a bag of stuff, right?
02:20That's gonna help you in emergency.
02:27So emergency bag, right?
02:31So they come in green or orange.
02:32Orange is for survival, obviously.
02:35I'm gonna get it off the hook.
02:36There we are.
02:40In a grab bag, any survival situation really, when it comes down to it, right, what do
02:48you need to survive?
02:49You need food, shelter, and water, basically, you know, the three fundamentals.
02:55I can get the bogs.
02:59Forty odd preppers up here, for my bug at weekender.
03:03So that's why the target's in a bit of a mess.
03:07The extreme of prep here now, you're thinking SHTF, you know, the
03:09world's gone mad, you're left to your own devices, and you need to protect yourself.
03:15So you can't get a shotgun, you haven't got a shotgun or firearms.
03:18So this is the next best thing.
03:21No license required, as long as you're over 18.
03:24Officially, target shooting only, right?
03:25So the only thing you can shoot is a target.
03:27And they come in a variety of different forms.
03:31Well, people in the know, right, people who've been doing this for a number of years, you'll
03:42go back 10, 12 years, these things were forecasted anyway.
03:46Digital IDs, central bank, digital currencies.
03:48You're losing your freedoms, your freedom of speech, freedom of movement, your control
03:53of your money, and obviously, like I say, digital IDs.
03:57That has been a progression over the years, right?
03:59And now it's come to fruition.
04:01You're seeing governments now acting on it a lot quicker.
04:03But if you're in a city, or anywhere really, I always say to people, look, think of a scenario,
04:20a disaster, wherever it's a fire, a flood, a terrorist attack, right?
04:24Power goes off, whatever it is.
04:26How best can you operate in that situation?
04:29What things have you got on you?
04:30You can still function as normal as possible.
04:33For this box, it's just a few shops.
04:44So this is just a Mora companion knife.
04:47This is a basic bushcraft knife.
04:48There's some dead fall.
05:02Right?
05:03Branches have died up above and got caught up.
05:06That's burning now, look.
05:13Just need that little bit extra.
05:14That's the birch bark.
05:15Well, war is on our doorstep, isn't it?
05:19It's not that far away.
05:21And things can turn ugly pretty quick.
05:24NATO, UK, France and Germany, they are beating the war drums and they are supplying, obviously,
05:30Ukraine with more and more weapons and they are attacking Russia and Russia more.
05:34And Russia will come to a point where it will take no more.
05:38You'll poke that bear enough and it will bite hard.
05:41They seem like photos, you know, we all have them digitally.
05:47Do we have them from off?
05:49Do we have them?
05:50Yeah.
05:50Yeah.
05:59If you're seeing a car, make sure it's out that way or something.
06:02Yeah.
06:02I see the only source has been...
06:05So if people are going to know certain information that we don't, it's them people.
06:13So if they are building bunkers in the middle of nowhere or Bill Gates is buying up farmland,
06:18you know, what do you need to survive?
06:19Water and food is basically in a shelter.
06:21So when you get billionaires buying farms, growing their own foods, you know, building bunkers,
06:26you think, well, what do they know that we don't?
06:29Now, it could be just that they've got so much money they don't want to do it.
06:32Right?
06:33But I would look into it a little bit.
06:36Yeah.
06:36Not espíritus in the army.
06:43You've got the Knights in these tents when you's in the army.
06:49See if you catch.
06:52You're in these tents, those in the army.
07:06Supercatch.
07:08Ready?
07:10Oh, straight for the tent.
07:22It worked like we had a magnet on the bottom that's sticking onto it.
07:34Oh, you don't need it.
07:37We get this, bend it, usually lean on it to get the string on. Dead accurate.
07:43Yeah. Nice.
07:46It's basically a stringer, they call it a stringer. A little bit too long that is.
07:50Put that on first. Cock that.
07:52Yeah.
07:53A bag, or grab bag, is just a bag of stuff, right?
07:57That's going to help you in an emergency.
08:04So, emergency bag, right?
08:08So, they come in green or orange. Orange for survival, obviously.
08:12I'm going to get it off the hook. There you are.
08:20I'm going to get the second two of them.
08:22Now, do you need to Isaac.
08:24I'm going to get the same thing.
08:26I'm going to get the same thing.
08:27I can't believe in the 꼭 andخ.
08:28How much should I keep it from there?
08:30I'll get a couple of ourьers.
08:32I'm going to get the same thing.
08:35I'm going to get the same thing.
08:37So, if I dig a little bit, I'm going to get the same thing.
08:40Just fantastic.
08:41You're going to get the same thing.
08:43I'm going to get the same thing.
