Transcript
00:00My name's Andrew Donoghue from Vitelli and we're here today at Brenton Donaldson's in Central
00:04Queensland. We've got Brenton's Vitelli Sense hardware here, which Vitelli Sense is used for
00:11measuring feed efficiency in cattle. So there's two parts of what we're doing. Just here we've got
00:16our feed intake nodes, which is measuring how much each animal eats. So animal puts its head
00:21through the rails and we read their electronic tag and we measure the feed disappearance. There's
00:26weigh scales under each of these bunks measuring the amount of feed in the bunks. So animals are on
00:32trial gear for 50 days and during that trial their only access to feed is through these
00:38through these rails in the nose to measure how much they eat and over the back of the water trough
00:43we've got our in-pen weighing system which weighs their body weight through the trial. So for feed
00:48efficiency when we're measuring how much they eat and then how much they gain during that
00:52trial period to see which animals are more efficient than others.
