00:00Hey!
00:01Hey, Jeffrey, Peter Griffin has a mustache!
00:03No way!
00:04Wait!
00:05Oh!
00:06Oh no!
00:07Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most hilarious phases
00:12Peter Griffin has lived through and grown out of.
00:15And since we have no weapons, I set up some traps and snares.
00:18Well, I was about to take a leak. Can I go in that direction?
00:21Yes.
00:22No.
00:24Number 10. Anime Phase, Core Girl
00:27This is me on an elephant.
00:28Wow, that's beautiful. Did you draw that all by yourself?
00:32Even the most short-lived of Peter's eras are instantly memorable.
00:35While discussing his use of her professional line in Core Girl, Lois mentions how she's
00:40put up with plenty of his phases, including his anime one.
00:43The viewer is then treated to a short but sweet cutaway where her husband appears in
00:47a new animation style, announcing his plans to her and mentioning his friends, most notably
00:52Wheel Monster Joe.
01:01Despite it only lasting a single line, he managed to include a few different tropes of the genre.
01:05It came and went fast, but still left us wishing we could see a whole anime set in Quahog.
01:11Like many of his eras, this one was recalled by Lois in an attempt to get him to understand
01:26his children.
01:27She points out that their son is merely going through a phase, much like his father's
01:31walk like an Egyptian one.
01:32It then cuts to Peter giving the eulogy at his friend's funeral.
01:36He becomes so overcome with emotion that he can't help but stop, leading him to exit
01:49the stage doing the same moves inspired by art depicted in ancient hieroglyphs and popularized
01:54by the Bangles' 1986 hit.
01:57When paired with an emotional situation like the one presented in the cutaway, it makes
02:00the exaggerated movements all the more hilarious.
02:15One of the greatest things about Peter is his ability to morph his personality around
02:19anything, even items that he's been introduced to.
02:21His dirt bike phase is one of the best examples of this.
02:24Shortly after winning one in a contest, he centres his actions around it.
02:29From revving his way through the United States National Anthem, to meeting and starting an
02:37extremely short-term relationship with a troubled soul named Amber, it soon becomes a huge part
02:42of his life.
02:43That is, until Chris and Meg took it out for a spin and crashed it, bringing the chapter
02:47to an abrupt close.
02:48Though it was a shame it ended so soon, it shows just how easily attached he gets to the
02:52things he loves.
02:57If you thought objects had a hold on him, just wait until you see the effects of another person.
03:12Shortly after the brewery enlists the help of a millennial named Hammer to help increase
03:16profits, Peter's life is forever changed.
03:19All it takes is a single vape cloud to transform him into the exact stereotype of the generation,
03:24from the man-bun to the supposed reliance on technology.
03:39It's a biting representation, but it's done in such a ridiculous way that it's hard
03:43to be genuinely offended by it.
03:46Though he immediately adapted well to the millennial lifestyle, it all came crashing down when
03:50Hammer was suddenly hit by a bus, with only an unfinished business idea to continue his
03:56legacy.
03:58Millenials aren't the only demographic targeted by Peter's phases.
04:15In season five, all it took was being an audience member at the Redneck Comedy Tour to convert
04:20him to a similar lifestyle.
04:21The Griffin family patriarch immediately committed to some of the more unsavory aspects of the
04:26stereotype, including trying to initiate an uncomfortable father-daughter bonding moment
04:30with Meg.
04:34Things came to a head when he had a fantasy of flying his truck, causing him to siphon jet
04:39fuel into it and costing Quagmire his job as a result.
04:42It may have been destructive, but his disgusting new habits did allow Brian to finally get his
04:47revenge on Stewie for the beating he took in Patriot Games.
05:07Not all of the stages in Peter's life are purely comedic.
05:10The best example is when he gets lost in the Canadian wilderness and becomes feral.
05:14When he's found, he's a mumbling shell of the man he used to be.
05:23There are still plenty of hilarious moments, such as his music session with Stewie and his
05:30attempts to view messages from his civilised self.
05:33Their attempts to rehabilitate him fall flat, and eventually Lois decides to release him into
05:37the wild.
05:38Even until Meg says they'll miss him, he regains the ability to speak English, and immediately
05:42tells her to shut up.
05:44It was a hysterical, if not fitting, end to the phase, and proved that not much had changed
05:49at all.
05:55After Lois points out that Peter has gone through several phases, Brian jumps in to recall a
06:11two-week period where his owner narrated his life.
06:14It then cuts to a scene in the Griffin's kitchen, where he explains what he sees as he sits
06:19down at the dinner table.
06:23It doesn't take long for him to get personal, first insulting the meal his wife cooked, before
06:30going on to mention how she's changed since they met.
06:33After earning a swift punch, he passes out, only to narrate himself waking up hours later.
06:41He cleverly poked fun at a trope that's appeared in multiple shows without mocking them directly.
06:57Given that a new look can spike confidence in some people, we can't say that we blame
07:00him for his reaction to his own.
07:02After becoming enamored with moustaches, he becomes inspired to grow one of his own.
07:07He succeeds, and immediately becomes a menace in the best way possible.
07:14It affects the way he talks to others, dresses, and even how others treat him.
07:22The latter ends up being his downfall, with the Quahog Fire Department catching sight of
07:26it and asking him for help putting out a fire.
07:28He complies, and even rescues someone, all at the cost of his stash.
07:33Though it was for a valiant cause, it's safe to say by his extreme solution that Peter
07:37wasn't ready to move on.
07:40Some Peter phases are purely cosmetic, and others he commits to for the sheer love of
07:56them.
07:57As soon as he took his first sip of Red Bull, he became obsessed.
08:00He quickly became accustomed to the accelerated speed and strength he gained after drinking
08:04one, causing him to wreak havoc on his family and the set of The Price is Right.
08:17In an attempt to cut him off, Lois dumps his stash.
08:20This prompts him to create his own energy drink using kerosene, which immediately sends
08:24him into kidney failure.
08:25If this was his reaction to Red Bull, then we can only imagine the menace he'd become
08:29if he got his hands on something with even more caffeine.
08:36Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
08:40Roadhouse phase, Brian's got a brand new bag.
08:42This Patrick Swayze-inspired era had him kicking his way out of and into various situations.
08:50Lizard phase, vestigial Peter Thanks to Dr. Hartman, this stage became a temporary
08:56and scaly reality.
08:57Grand staircase entrance phase, a fistful of Meg.
09:06This allowed Peter to tap into his extravagant side, even if it drained the Griffin's savings.
09:15Everywhere is a racquetball court phase, turban cowboy.
09:19Not even the living room was safe from him during this phase.

09:44Finding out you have a totally different first name than the one you've been raised with would
09:57send real people into a tailspin.
09:59For Peter, or should we say, Justin Griffin, it's just another opportunity to rebrand.
10:04After learning about his true identity while opening up a checking account, he instantly
10:08adopted a more youthful personality and appearance.
10:19The carefree Justin lifestyle impacted all facets of his life, from parenting to his music taste.
10:25Lois puts up with it for a while, until he uses the moniker as an excuse to throw a huge
10:30party.
10:31She forces him to legally change his name back.
10:32And while it was great getting Peter back, we can't help but wonder if Justin had more
10:36to show.
