00:00:29We're returning to our ocean studio, the summer storms that have progressed into the fall have come and gone, so we have a bit of a reprieve from the blustery winds and the rain, although you can see that it is still glowing a bit in the palm fronds behind me.
00:00:51Typically, when we move to this, the ocean studio, we're speaking of the Psalms, the Mismore of Dode, our Messiah, the Son of God and our King.
00:01:06But in a previous episode, we wanted to explain some of Dode's thoughts pursuant to his position relative to Yahweh and why he came to realize that it was appropriate for him to intervene as our Savior to fulfill Pesach, Matzah, and Bokotim.
00:01:30And that his people just did not understand that they somehow had missed the entire intent of the Torah and that they were therefore estranged from God and that he alone was in a position to resolve that dispute.
00:01:47And since this is important, we're going to return to the first statement in Dabarim, that would be the book wrongly called Deuteronomy.
00:01:57It means words in the 29th chapter, and it begins, these are the words, Dabarim, of the covenant, which lead to the benefits of the relationship.
00:02:12Yahweh instructed for Moshe to cut and to establish with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, which means who's your father, along with and as part of the covenant that he cut and associated with them in Choreb.
00:02:37Well, what God is announcing here, Dabarim 29.1, is that he is reaffirming the covenant that he established with Abraham, debuted and narrated through Abraham,
00:02:51that he then reinforced by revealing Dabarim, excuse me, by revealing Barashith, which would be known now as Genesis.
00:03:03It means in the beginning.
00:03:04That whole narrative is presented there in the opening book of the Torah.
00:03:09And therefore, I thought that Wookiee wanted to jump up on the table, but he looked away.
00:03:16And so he is affirming that that whole discussion was reinforced with the children of Israel in Choreb, which is where he presented to Moshe the book of, in the beginning, which we call now Genesis, Barashith.
00:03:34And now he is once again reminding them that they have been invited to be part of this familial covenant relationship.
00:03:53Whether or not they wish to participate, and unfortunately, the answer is they did not.
00:04:02So we're finding that I bring up a glass of water or tea, because when you speak for an hour at a time, sometimes your voice gets a little scratchy, and the beneficiary of that is Wookiee.
00:04:20So I'm glad that you were able to refresh yourself there, Wookiee.
00:04:25That's important.
00:04:26So that's the story here.
00:04:28That's why the introduction is written this way.
00:04:30The covenant that was narrated and then affirmed on Mount Moriah with Abraham has now seen its reaffirmation, if you will, here on Choreb with the children of Israel, and then is now being reiterated.
00:04:53And this is the Torah through which Moshe on Mount Choreb established, delineated for the purpose of sharing the fact that there are five conditions and five benefits associated with it,
00:05:14and all of which are fulfilled through the establishment of the Moed Mikre, the seven steps that we are invited to walk to Yahweh.
00:05:24So as we continue with this narration from God through Moshe, it reads,
00:05:33and Moshe summoned, calling out to, speaking of the Mikre, it's the verb that serves as the heart of Mikre.
00:05:40It means to summon, to call out, to invite, to a meeting, to welcome, to read, and to recite.
00:05:46It is Kara, all of the, all of Israel, saying to them,
00:05:54you yourselves have witnessed everything that Yahweh acted upon and engaged in before your eyes in the realm of the crucibles of oppression in Mitzrayim,
00:06:06known as Egypt, before Pharaoh, before all of his servants and throughout his land.
00:06:12They had been slaves, they were liberated, they had witnessed everything that Yahweh had done on their behalf,
00:06:22and now here they were as witnesses to God's great favor on their behalf.
00:06:30This is Debarim, Deuteronomy 29.2.
00:06:34And that should have put them in a position where they were receptive and appreciative.
00:06:41Unfortunately, it didn't.
00:06:43So this tremendously great experience of examination and validation and of getting the desired response,
00:06:51which, for the benefit of the relationship, you saw witnessing with your own eyes,
00:06:57the appearance of the conspicuous and important signs announcing future events,
00:07:08and the remarkably extraordinary indications of amazing things which were to come.
00:07:17This is Debarim 29.3.
00:07:23Moshe is reemphasizing that this was an extraordinary experience,
00:07:28and it should have left an indelible mark on the minds and hearts of the children of Yisrael,
00:07:35so that they should have given Yahweh tremendous respect.
00:07:40They should have appreciated him for what he had done for them.
00:07:44This is a tremendously important and empowering opportunity for examination of getting the desired response,
00:07:53this time of testing and period of evaluation for your benefit,
00:07:57and for this relationship which you saw witnessing with your eyes,
00:08:02the appearance of the conspicuous and important signs announcing future events,
00:08:09the prophetic proof statements regarding these promises,
00:08:13which are predictive, accurately confirming that which will occur,
00:08:18along with the miraculous means of communicating the message with distinctive banners
00:08:25and characteristic signals regarding future provisions laden with tremendous portent,
00:08:32along with great expectations of things which will occur,
00:08:36then brilliant examples which correspond to future events,
00:08:40communicating that which is vitally important,
00:08:44enabling us to respond appropriately and grow.
00:08:47in a very expressive version of God's words never should have been called Deuteronomy 29.3.
00:08:57Should you have wondered why few, if any,
00:09:01would come to appreciate Yahweh's approach to revelation and understanding,
00:09:06well, we now know,
00:09:07and this is going to reemphasize something that I said yesterday and the day before and even the day before that,
00:09:14that I'm sure has some of you a bit perplexed because it is a very profound statement
00:09:20that goes right to the heart of the lie that is Judaism.
00:09:25But Yahweh has not bestowed giving you the judgment or the inclination to know or to understand
00:09:45or the eyes or perceptiveness to see or even the ears to hear.
Yahowah reaffirms His Covenant in Debarim 29, calling His people to see, hear, and understand. A Voice Thirty~Five exposes the blindness of religion and the beauty of truth through Yah’s Towrah. The Covenant endures, and the invitation to know Him remains open to all who listen.
