00:00A motorcyclist was handed $3,008 worth of traffic infringement notices after riding
00:05past a highway patrol cop while performing a wheelie. The 22-year-old rider was travelling
00:10in the northbound lanes of the Bruce Highway in Tanawa on the Queensland Sunshine Coast
00:15on Monday, October 20, 2025. An officer witnessed two bikes riding in convoy and clocked the
00:2222-year-old driver at 155 kilometres an hour in a 110-kilometre zone. He was issued nine
00:29demerit points, fines of over $3,000 and a six-month licence suspension.
00:34Probably pretty obvious why I pulled you over. I'm following you from the on-ramp there.
00:41All right. Do you know what the speed limit is on the on-ramp?
00:44Mate, why is your plate folded up as well? It's on a hinge.
00:50Why is it like that? To avoid detection? Yep.
00:58It's still expensive. It's just over $3,000. It carries nine demerit points and it does
01:18have a six-month high-speed suspension in your licence.
01:24So, so, you're defective, okay? You've got to have your reflectors on, on the sides. You've
01:29got to have a red reflector on the back. All right. Get a ticket for a number plate like
01:33that. Okay, obviously it's on a hinge. It's a smart decision to pull over because the helicopter
01:38is up tonight and that would be a sure way to go to prison if you fail to stop, even with
01:43no plate on. No one can out-ride the helicopter. You know, it's expensive today. It's still
01:50pretty expensive. It's $2,085. All right. You also get a high-speed suspension on your licence.
01:54Okay. It's just way too quick, mate. Way too quick, unfortunately. All right.
02:02Even if you're a really good rider, those speeds, harder, something I expected. You just
02:07can't like that sort of speed off. All right. You don't want to be that bloke. He was only
02:12really done with this.
