00:00Do you want to know how much difference there is between these two machines here?
00:04Which one is more worth buying, the regular Asus ROC or the X?
00:08Well, you've come to the perfect video.
00:09Hello, how are you?
00:11I'm Technoforce and in this video I'm going to tell you exactly what improves or changes
00:15from one model to the other and whether or not it's worth buying the regular model or
00:19the X.
00:20With that said, let's get started.
00:26In this video, I don't really intend to ramble on.
00:29There are many differences that you should know about, but they're not so many as to
00:33warrant a long video, and at the end of this video we'll assess whether or not it's worth
00:37going for one model or the other.
00:39Okay, let's get straight to the point.
00:41This one here is the Asus Rockali, the first model that came out.
00:45Speaking a little bit about it, I can tell you that this model is the lighter of the two,
00:49so if you're looking for something that's not too heavy, this one wins in that sense.
00:53More things you need to know.
00:55The buttons on this model are really good.
00:57They are of good quality and they feel good.
00:59So, honestly, in this sense, I have no complaints.
01:02I might mention that the joysticks on this model are a little flatter and less rough, so
01:06the grip is not as comfortable.
01:08However, I still say that they are good joysticks, they work really well.
01:12With the LX we have an improvement in all the buttons.
01:15The traditional action buttons have a slightly higher profile, which gives them a little more
01:20travel and makes it more comfortable to press.
01:22In addition, the previous model had a little bit of clearance, which they have fixed in
01:26this model.
01:27Another thing to highlight is the dadpad, which they have also changed.
01:30This is a bit more a matter of taste, but it is true that they have changed it internally
01:33and also externally.
01:35The normal rock controller has a slightly glossy and transparent finish that gives it a slightly
01:39more plastic feel, while the Ali X controller has a quite different feel, and it also feels
01:44smoother.
01:45However, for me, the most important change they've made has been their joysticks.
01:49While I said that the normal Rock League controller was pretty good, these ones have been improved
01:54a lot.
01:54In fact, I would dare say that they are very, very similar, if not the same as the ones on
01:59their Rakery Pro controller, with a very good grip, greater firmness in their movement and
02:03much more precise.
02:04Honestly, after testing it, I have to say that the change is huge and I wouldn't go back to
02:08the previous model.
02:09Then, quickly, I have to say that the back buttons have also been changed.
02:13In this version, they are smaller and repositioned, which I personally liked, but in that sense,
02:18it's the same, a matter of taste.
02:21Another of the most important changes is the triggers.
02:25Both the top and bottom triggers are much better, plus the bottom ones are wider and
02:29have better travel, and both have a better feel for the keys.
02:34Especially the top ones, which are clicky switches and I love them, listen, listen to
02:39this.
02:41No way!
02:42According to the tests I've been doing, this model tends to get a little hotter, which they've
02:48solved very well in this one.
02:50Speaking of heating, there's one very important thing you need to know, and that is that the
02:54first models of the Asus Locale came out with a factory defect, which is that they burned
02:59the SDS.
03:01Many users reported this problem and Asus took action on the matter.
03:05Later they patched this problem via software, which I can actually confirm today because I
03:10haven't had the model since the beginning.
03:13What I do know is that in the month I've had this model, it hasn't given me any problems.
03:17By the way, one thing I forgot to mention, why is the previous model lighter?
03:22Well, this model doesn't weigh a ton more.
03:25It's true that you can tell that this one is lighter, but it's not that big of a deal.
03:29Of course, as you can see, the Asus Locale X is thicker than the standard one.
03:34And speaking of appearance, I also have to highlight the ergonomics.
03:37The original Asus Locale has a slightly thinner, shorter, and more aggressive design, while
03:43the X has a slightly wider and more rounded design, which directly affects the grip.
03:48And yes, I can confirm that it's more comfortable than the original.
03:53Another important thing you should know is that the speakers on both are very good.
03:57I really love them.
04:00However, there's one thing to point out, which is that the original has a little more power
04:05than the X, which I don't understand why they made that decision, but anyway, they're both
04:10still just as good.
04:12In terms of screens, the truth is that there aren't any changes, which is a shame because
04:17it would have been really nice if they hadn't put an OLED screen on the X model at least
04:21they had put a 16-inch screen.
04:24But hey, this is also a personal opinion, more than anything because when you play games
04:28you really notice those black stripes at the top and bottom.
04:31And that bothers me a lot, but hey, I'm sure many of you already like the typical 16-inch
04:36look.
04:37That said, the screen is exactly the same, it has the same features.
04:42And as for the interior, well, we have exactly the same chip, since many others have done
04:46a bit of a redesign and restructuring.
04:48That's why it maintains temperatures better, apart from making it a bit thicker.
04:51That said, there are no other changes in the software or in the power directly.
04:55What they did change is the RAM.
04:57In the original model we have 16GB of RAM, while in the X model we have 24GB of RAM, which
05:05can be very beneficial if we want to take some of that RAM and put it in the virtual RAM,
05:09the Versus RAM, to support the graphics and be able to play more graphically demanding titles
05:14in a more relaxed way.
05:16So it is a really important addition, but the most important change in these models, without
05:21a doubt, is the battery.
05:22In the original Asus Loco, playing at a AAA, we got approximately 1 hour of gameplay, while
05:31according to my tests on the Asus Rock ZUG at a AAA we got around 2 hours and 5 minutes.
05:36That test was run at maximum power in Black Midth Wukong at 25W and 1080 at 60FPS, which
05:47in the original gives approximately 45 minutes.
05:51So we have an improvement of more than double the battery.
05:54Then, if we obviously lower the resolutions, graphic qualities and watts, we can get up to
05:593 hours, 3 and a half hours depending on the titles.
06:02And if we talk about indie titles that we can play quietly at low power, we can stretch
06:08it to about 6 hours.
06:10So the 80W battery that the X has is really appreciated.
06:14For me, it really is the most important thing they have done.
06:18Well, having said all this, I think I haven't left anything important unmentioned.
06:23Now, if you have the normal sublocal and want to switch to the X, is it worth the change?
06:28At first glance, I could tell you no.
06:31The initial investment in the normal Rokali is what the X costs.
06:35Although obviously you sell the original, I think the difference is not worth it.
06:40For that, I would wait until 2025 because interesting projects from these brands are coming.
06:46Now, if you are a user who uses this type of machine a lot and can barely touch its main
06:51setup or doesn't have one at all, then I think that this change might be worth it for you,
06:55since considering all the improvements that this local X has, it undoubtedly makes it superior.
07:02Now, if you don't have either of the two and you are thinking of buying one.
07:06Well, this is simple.
07:07If you can buy the X, go ahead, go for the X.
07:11Now, if your budget is very limited and you can barely afford the normal one,
07:16then you wouldn't leave much choice either.
07:18Therefore, you should go for the original, at least to try it out.
07:21But I personally think that going for the X if you don't have either is the right option.
07:27However, since we have exactly the same power, the only thing that fails above all is the
07:32battery as a main factor.
07:34If you have a limited budget, you can enjoy its power just as much with the original.
07:38If you don't mind having to be next to a plug or carrying a power bank with you,
07:42then perhaps that one would make more sense.
07:44Alright guys, I hope you enjoyed this comparison video.
07:47I hope it helped you decide which model to buy and which one suits you best.
