00:00Good morning, Breasties! We're going to talk about how I had to get my implant removed.
00:06So I had my double mastectomy with reconstruction last August. In October, my right incision split
00:14open, exposed the implant, and it had to come out. When I found out that it had to come out,
00:21I was very sad. I cried a lot. It was very emotional. I felt like,
00:27what else is going to happen to me? I don't want to have a flat breast, and it wasn't necessarily
00:33for cosmetic purposes. I just felt like I don't want to look sick, which is exactly why I didn't
00:40want to lose my hair. So the incision popped. I went the next day to get it removed. It was really
00:46easy. I just had like local anesthetic. He pulled it out. Very simple. I did have another JP drain.
00:54So this one is my third one. Oh no, I'm sorry. My fourth one I've had. My surgeon gave me this
01:02so I could wear it with my clothes when I went out, so it doesn't seem like I was missing
01:08a breast. I never used it. I really didn't care. I did not mind looking flat. Some people stared.
01:17Some people asked actually, which was interesting. It's actually shocking how many people will comment
01:25and they see you and they're like, breast cancer? Good guess, dude. Yup. What? And then other people
01:37will just be like... It's like, mommy taught you not to stare, okay? But anyways, okay, so I had it
01:51removed. My surgeon said you'll have to wait until after radiation to get it replaced, which he thought
01:59was going to be like fall winter time because he wanted my skin to repair from radiation. But jokes
02:07on everyone, I had no issues with radiation. Not one. It was actually insane because I had double the
02:16amount. Um, so I didn't have to do it for a month and a half. I only had to do it for three weeks. My
02:22surgeon was shocked. He's like, we can do it. A sippity sap baby. And now no need for this. The little
02:31baddie is back in.
