More than 70,000 residents in the coastal towns of Guiuan, Mercedes, and Salcedo have been ordered to move to evacuation centers as Typhoon Tino continues to intensify while approaching from the Pacific.
PAGASA said Tino may make landfall or pass very close to Homonhon Island or the Dinagat Islands on Monday evening or early Tuesday, Nov. 4.
It is expected to move over Leyte or Southern Leyte at or near peak intensity, with maximum sustained winds potentially reaching 140–155 kph.
