00:00Hang on.
00:03Hang on.
00:14I'm nervous.
00:20Okay.
00:24I'm nervous.
00:25I know I don't need to be nervous because I know we're here today not only to celebrate and honor a most wonderful and extraordinary man, but also to support and comfort each other.
00:45And there's a lot of love in here.
00:49I can feel that love and I know you all want me to feel at ease in my little moment for Para here.
01:01I'm Canadian.
01:03Para would want me to tell you that because every time he'd introduce me to someone he'd say,
01:09This is Colleen, and she's a Canadian.
01:16He also liked to remind their sausage dog, Betty, of my nationality.
01:22And he'd often say to her,
01:24That girl's from Canada.
01:28And she thinks you're called a wiener doll.
01:35To those of you who haven't met,
01:38My name's Colleen.
01:39I'm Mick's partner.
01:41Or Sheila.
01:44And I'm Pat and Para's daughter-in-law.
01:47And obviously, I hit the absolute jackpot on that one.
01:53Now, I think we all know that some people don't like their parents-in-laws.
01:59Perhaps even some of you here today.
02:02And to that, I say,
02:05I feel bad for you.
02:06That sucks.
02:08I got the most sweetest, most loving, caring, supportive, kind,
02:15Fun, funny, salt-of-the-earth parents-in-law.
02:21And I can't believe how lucky I am.
02:26As time went on, Para continued to modify my name.
02:29It went from Coll to Collie Wobble.
02:34Collie Wobble Bliss Bomb.
02:36The Wobbles.
02:37The Wobbs.
02:39And I guess we've finally settled on...
02:42The Wobbler.
02:43I am the Wobbler.
02:47Coo-coo-ca-choo.
02:53Para and Pat.
02:56Pat and Para.
03:00Patera.
03:02Makes Brangelina look like a pile of crap.
03:06Yes, what they have is true love.
03:11It's the real deal.
03:13I know because I got the privilege and the pleasure of witnessing it firsthand.
03:20I had a front row seat for almost 20 years.
03:24And if you're going to be married to Para, you know that's going to be a wild ride.
03:30And you better be able to hold your own.
03:32There's only one person in the world that can match Para.
03:38And that's Pat.
03:40She's the only one who can calm the beast.
03:46Yeah.
03:47You know how you never know what goes on behind closed doors?
03:51Guess what?
03:53You're about to find out.
03:55Yeah, I've seen some things.
03:58Alright, okay.
03:59So this may surprise some of you.
04:00May even shock you.
04:04But on occasion, like most people, Para could get a little bit grumpy.
04:14A tad gruff.
04:17Pat, on the other hand, does not have a grumpy bone in her entire whole body.
04:22Truly.
04:24I've never seen her grumpy.
04:26Never seen her gruff.
04:28Well, Para would get himself all worked up over God knows what, probably something sports related.
04:35And he'd be going off.
04:37And he'd be going off.
04:38Bah, this.
04:39Bah, to that.
04:41He always did.
04:44And all Pat had to do was just walk over to him in her calm and beautiful way.
04:52Maybe scratch him on the head.
04:56And this raging lunatic would melt into nothing but a lovesick fool.
05:07It's pathetic.
05:08I want to tell you some things I'll miss about Para.
05:15I'll miss his wholehearted greetings he'd give me every single time I walk through the door.
05:24He'd say, it's the Wobbler.
05:28Or, Pop says g'day to the Collywobble.
05:34I'll miss snuggling up with him on the couch and binge watching our favorite series's.
05:40Parallel of Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Sopranos, many more.
05:46I'll miss the way he would yell at people on the TV.
05:49And he's like, bah, you bloody peanut.
05:57I believe his father used to yell this also.
06:07I'll miss how when he didn't like something.
06:10Like a tomato or a dirty ashtray, he'd go, buh, buh, buh, buh, buh, buh, buh, buh, buh, buh.
06:19I'll miss giving him hand massages.
06:22You can't sit next to Para without him making you give him a hand massage.
06:28He'd give you one too.
06:31Of course it wasn't as long.
06:32I'll miss all the weird, hilarious things he would say and do.
06:49Uh-oh.
06:50I'll miss the way he would always build me up.
06:59He always told me how great I was, how much he loved me.
07:04I'll miss his giant bear hugs, his adorable face.
07:09There's so many other things that I could stand here all day listing them.
07:17Para loved his wife, his parents, his sisters and his brother.
07:23He loved his kids, his grandkids, his friends, his wiener dog, Betty.
07:29He loved random people he met one time.
07:35He was a great big love tornado and he sucked everybody in.
07:41He also loved a good quote.
07:44So here are a couple I like.
07:47I hope they bring you some small comfort.
07:49A great soul serves everyone all the time.
07:54A great soul never dies.
07:56It brings us together again and again.
08:06We never lose our loved ones.
08:09They accompany us.
08:12They don't disappear from our lives.
08:15We are merely in different rooms.
08:20I want to say to Para.
08:23I want to say this part very, very fast.
08:29I love you.
08:30I'll miss you all the time.
08:32Thank you for being a part of my life.
08:35Thank you for letting me be a part of your life.
08:42I will now
08:43sing for you.
08:44You heard that right.
08:56This is one of many classic Para hits.
08:59He would sing this song almost every single day while he was picking up the dog poos.
09:09And when little Betty would hear it, she would get really excited and happy and she'd run outside and watch the show.
09:15It's called Pooh Patrol.
09:25This one's for you, Para.
09:26When you're out on the grass and the sun hits your bum, then you're part of the pooing patrol.
09:43Pooh Patrol.
09:44When you're out on the lawn, at the crack of the dawn, then you're part of the pooing patrol.
09:57Pooh Patrol.
09:58Pooh Patrol.
09:59Pooh Patrol.
