00:00Have you got what it takes to make it all the way to our final question and join the 1% Club?
00:15Anyone has a chance to win because this quiz isn't about how much you know,
00:18it's about how your brain really works,
00:20as all our questions are about logic and common sense.
00:23So who will make it to the end and answer a question only 1% of the country can get right
00:26and win up to £100,000?
00:30Let's play the 1% Club!
00:36And hoping to win tonight our 100 players!
00:39Hello!
00:41Right, give us a cheer if you've got no doubt that you're taking home the big money tonight.
00:48Lady at the top though, what's your name?
00:49Hello, Charlotte.
00:50Hello, Charlotte.
00:51Why are you so confident?
00:52Well, my dad said that I'm not allowed to come home if I don't win the £100,000,
00:56so I've kind of got to win, otherwise I'm stuck here.
00:58Right, will he get you on a technicality?
01:00If you win 97, is he still going to chuck you out?
01:02I don't know, I think we'll have to wait and see.
01:04Do you live at home?
01:05Well, I go to uni in Bournemouth, but I've come home recently.
01:08OK, and he wants you to stay at home, obviously, he loves you.
01:12No, he wants me to go back to uni, he's fed up of me.
01:15Right.
01:16So I think that's why he's abandoning me.
01:18You do know this is a quiz show rather than some sort of therapy session.
01:21LAUGHTER
01:22OK.
01:23Good luck, everyone, and don't forget, you can play along at home if you want,
01:26all you have to do is download the app.
01:27OK, before we ask our first question, here's a reminder of how the show works.
01:31We asked a cross-section of people from all over Britain a list of our unique questions.
01:35Based on their answers, we can tell statistically what percentage of the country should get each
01:40one right.
01:41Tonight, I'll be asking those exact questions to our 100 contestants, beginning with the
01:47easier one that 90% of Britain got right, and ending with the most challenging question
01:51that only 1% of the great British public answered correctly.
01:54At the start of the show, every contestant is given a £1,000 stake.
01:59If they get any question wrong, they are out of the game, and the £1,000 is transferred
02:03to the 1% prize pot.
02:06Whoever gets the furthest in the quiz wins £10,000, and the chance to answer the final
02:111% question to win everything in the prize pot, and take home up to £100,000.
02:17APPLAUSE
02:20Right, let's get on with it, it's time for our first question.
02:24So this is one that 90% of our survey got right, let's see how you do.
02:31If you throw one dart at each of these boards, which four-letter word cannot be spelt out?
02:37The time starts now.
02:38Who uses four darts?
02:43OK, your time is up. Let's see who's like to stay on and are still in the game, and how many people are out.
02:58Right, we lost two people on that one, let's have a look at the answer.
03:13It's B, quiz. There's no Z in the last image.
03:28Unfortunately, if your lights are off, then you're out of the game, like Michael Spores.
03:32Yeah.
03:33Oh, Michael.
03:35Now, the people at home are wondering why we're laughing.
03:39I did say a quick hello to everyone before we started the show, and it was pointed out that you get told that you look like me.
03:45Well, four people today on the show, actually.
03:47So really, you've gone out first, and then there's that. You've had a doubly bad day, haven't you?
03:53I know, you're right, you're right.
03:55Never mind.
03:56What do you do, Michael?
03:57Well, I'm a screen extra sometimes, and I write little stories.
04:00And do you ever get any speaking parts?
04:02No.
04:03You're not allowed to speak, are you?
04:04Well, if you do, they have to pay you extra money, so...
04:07But you have to react?
04:08Yeah, or you might be sort of miming to somebody.
04:11Oh, I see.
04:12Like you're in a pub or something.
04:13So if we weren't allowed to hear you speak, how would you react to this if I said,
04:17unfortunately, you've just gone out on the 90% question?
04:23Wow.
04:24That hammy, yeah?
04:25Really that hammy.
04:26That was pretty good.
04:27I'm impressed.
04:28Michael, unlucky, but you're not on your own, Michael.
04:31One other person we lost, Ryan Morris.
04:33Sorry, Ryan.
04:34Nerves got the better of me.
04:35Nerves got the better.
04:36What happened?
04:37What did you put?
04:38Put show.
04:39Be honest.
04:40Are you pleased that someone else has also got out rather than you being the only one?
04:43Not really.
04:44Oh, OK.
04:45I'm trying to make you feel better and it's not working.
04:47Because I've told everyone at home that I'm on it today.
04:49Have you?
04:50And they all said the same thing.
04:51What?
04:52Just make sure, don't go out on the first.
04:53No.
04:54I proved them wrong.
04:55You didn't really prove them wrong, did you?
04:56I proved them wrong, sorry.
04:57I proved them right.
04:58You proved them right.
04:59I mean, you couldn't even get that right.
05:03Never mind, Ryan.
05:04Right.
05:05So, there are 98 people still left in the game.
05:07And the £1,000 of everyone who got the question wrong, but now goes into the prize pot.
05:11Let's see what it's done to the total.
05:14Right, we're on £2,000.
05:16It's a start.
05:17We're started.
05:18Right.
05:19Time for the 80% question.
05:21So, this is a question that 80% of people we asked managed to get right.
05:25See how you get on with this one.
05:28What winter sport is represented here?
05:31Time starts now.
05:37You're all looking excited.
05:38Give it a couple of rounds and we'll soon cure you of that.
05:41OK, your time is up.
05:58Let's see you got it right.
05:59So, we lost one of you.
06:13Let's have a look at the answer.
06:15It's ice hockey.
06:17Ice hockey.
06:18Someone who got it right is Jack Brett.
06:20Hello, Jack.
06:21Apart from being the lead singer of Pulp, what do you do for a living?
06:24I work in a fashion shop shop.
06:26Where's that?
06:27In Ball of Money in my hometown Northern Ireland.
06:30It's a flash in a pan.
06:31That's a great name for a chip shop.
06:32What would you do with the big money if you win?
06:34I'd probably spend it on my hobbies, which is basically Pokemon.
06:38Entirely that.
06:39Plushies, games, trading cards, all of that.
06:42Are you talking up to £100,000?
06:44Or you mean if you win £10,000?
06:46Yeah, well...
06:48Some of it gets a little bit pricey.
06:49What noise did you just make?
06:50Did you actually turn into a Pokemon mid-sentencer?
06:53That's the noise I make when I'm trying to say something.
06:56I think your voice might have just broken on national television.
06:59It does that a lot.
07:00I think he would buy a Pokemon!
07:03Listen, well done, Jack.
07:04You're still with us.
07:05Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
07:09We're on £3,000.
07:11OK, so there's 97 people still with us and we are on to the 70% question.
07:16Let's take good off.
07:17Barnaby was told he could have a certain number of chocolate biscuits.
07:24He took double that number but felt guilty and put one back.
07:28He then had nine.
07:29How many was he told he could have?
07:31The time starts now.
07:33Only put one back.
07:34Didn't feel that guilty, did he?
07:39OK, your time is up.
07:57Right, let's see who got it right.
07:59Right, we lost just three people though.
08:00Let's have a look at the answer.
08:01It's five.
08:02He took ten biscuits, double his allocation, put one back and still has nine.
08:06So, we've lost three of you including Darren Tinder.
08:09Sorry, Darren Trinder.
08:10Well, not Tinder, obviously.
08:11Yeah.
08:12Are you single?
08:13No.
08:14No.
08:15No.
08:16No.
08:17No.
08:18No.
08:19No.
08:20No.
08:21No.
08:22No.
08:23No.
08:24No.
08:25No.
08:26No.
08:27No.
08:28No.
08:29No.
08:30No.
08:31OK.
08:32Let's call it...
08:33I'll change it.
08:34I'll say it properly.
08:35One person who got it wrong was Darren Grindr.
08:37Sorry.
08:38One person who got it wrong is Darren Trinder.
08:41I've finally got it right.
08:42I wouldn't do very well on this quiz, would I?
08:44What did you put?
08:45I put nine.
08:46I don't know.
08:47I couldn't get my head around it.
08:48He couldn't.
08:49Yeah.
08:50I suppose he then had nine.
08:51How many was he told?
08:52Yeah.
08:53I suppose there is a nine in there.
08:54Yeah.
08:55I'm trying to help you.
08:56Yeah, it didn't work.
08:57Sorry.
08:58Darren, what do you do?
08:59Are you a competitive person?
09:01Very competitive.
09:02Any examples of that?
09:03Quite a few things.
09:04I was a driver of the year for the company I worked for.
09:07Were you?
09:08Yeah.
09:09That's good.
09:10Did you get a pay rise for it?
09:11I got £3,000 actually.
09:12That's good.
09:13And I went to Italy to race against the winners from the rest of the world.
09:17Sorry, in your HGV?
09:18No, no, no.
09:19We flew over there and then we were racing sprinter vans around Monza racetrack.
09:24The little white vans?
09:25Yeah, yeah, yeah.
09:26Like a sprinter van.
09:27Yeah.
09:28What kind of speeds can you do in them?
09:2980 mile an hour.
09:30Is that safe?
09:31No, not really.
09:32And yet, funny, when those vans are delivering stuff to me, it seems to take three and a
09:37half weeks.
09:38Yeah, exactly.
09:39Unlucky Darren.
09:40Let's see what that's done to the prize putt.
09:42We're on £6,000.
09:45I should point out as well, you're obviously a clever bunch because at this point we've
09:52usually lost about 30 people and we've only lost six of you, so well done.
09:5694 clapping, the other six going, you all right mate, leave it out.
10:03It's time for the 60% question.
10:06Let's have a look.
10:10Which of these names fits into all the gaps below so that each sentence has five words
10:16that start with the same letter?
10:18OK, your time starts now.
10:48OK, your time is up.
10:51Let's see who got it right.
10:53Right.
11:20You know before when I said how well you were doing?
11:23I think that is the most amount of people we've ever had out on a round.
11:28You've gone from being one of the cleverest audience to losing the most amount of people
11:32in one round.
11:33We have lost 40 people.
11:35I mean, it was a one in three guess.
11:37I don't know how that's possible.
11:39Let's have a look at the answer.
11:41It's be Hannah.
11:43The first sentence has four words that start with H, so it needs Hannah to make it five.
11:47The other sentences already have five words beginning with the same letter.
11:51Right.
11:52Let's talk to everyone that went out, including Rebecca Fletcher.
11:57Hello.
11:58She's thinking, 40 and I get picked on, how does this work?
12:02Rebecca, what did you put?
12:04I put Bianca because I read, I counted all the words and didn't take into account the blank space that I needed to fill.
12:12OK.
12:13What do you do, Bianca?
12:14Rebecca, sorry.
12:15I wasn't rubbing it in, that was a genuine mistake.
12:18What do you do, Rebecca?
12:19I'm a dinner lady.
12:20And what do you do in your spare time?
12:22I've got three children and we've recently collected a load of tadpoles from my mum and dad's garden.
12:27OK.
12:28So we don't actually have a pond, so we have plastic tubs lined up in my garden full of tadpoles.
12:35How many?
12:36Between 50 and 100, possibly a few more.
12:39Wow.
12:40That's literally how many people almost went out.
12:42I know.
12:43Everybody could have one tadpole each.
12:45Everyone that went out gets a tadpole.
12:48Never mind, Rebecca.
12:49Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
12:54Wow.
12:55£46,000.
12:58Time for a quick break.
12:59We've lost 46 people here already.
13:01Hope you're doing OK at home and don't forget you can play along on the app.
13:04After the break, we'll be moving closer to seeing if anyone here can answer the 1% question.
13:08See you in a bit.
13:21Welcome back to the 1% Club.
13:22We started off with 100 people and now we are down to 54.
13:25The person who does best here tonight could be going home with up to £100,000.
13:29So, welcome to everyone who's still in the game and from now on we are going to give you the option to pay for a pass to the next question.
13:36And if you do, your £1,000 will be transferred to the prize pot.
13:40However, if you get as far as the 30% question without using your pass, you'll get the chance to take your £1,000 and leave the game.
13:47Right.
13:48We have got 54 people left in the show and it's time for the 50% question.
13:54Let's take a look.
13:56When the letters in the names of these capital cities are put into alphabetical order, which one has N as the fifth letter?
14:05Your time starts now.
14:07We'll be right back and we'll see you next time.
14:14OK, your time is up.
14:39I sometimes look at these questions and ask,
14:42when would this ever come up in real life?
14:46Right, let's see who got it right.
15:08Right, we lost 13 people. Let's have a look at the answer.
15:12It is B, Dublin, and there is the N to prove it.
15:16So we've lost 13 of you there, including Maddie Dawson.
15:19Where are you, Maddie? Here.
15:20Hey, Maddie, what did you put? I put A.
15:22You put A? Yeah.
15:24I don't know my alphabet. Oh, don't you? No.
15:27Why didn't you use the pass?
15:28Because in my head I was like, right,
15:30you can't be that thick to get that wrong, so...
15:33Just before you say that, a few people went out,
15:35not just you, go for what you say.
15:37And now, yeah, I was just going to... I was saving it.
15:39I was saving it.
15:40You were saving it. You were being tactical.
15:41You wanted to use it later.
15:42Yeah, and I was... I spent ages going L-O-N-M.
15:46Yeah, that's not the correct order of the letter.
15:48Yeah, I realise that now.
15:50You don't know the alphabet, do you?
15:51No.
15:52OK, Maddie, never mind. It hasn't worked out.
15:53And let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
15:59£65,000!
16:03OK, it's time for the 45% question.
16:07Let's take a look.
16:10Image one and image two below have been divided into four parts.
16:13Each part represents the letter in the same position in the word.
16:17Using this information, what five-letter fruit
16:20is being displayed in image three?
16:22The time starts now.
16:52OK, your time is up.
16:56Let's see whose lights are still on.
16:58OK, we've lost three people. Let's have a look at the answer.
17:16It's peach. There it is.
17:20OK, someone who got that wrong is Josh Cook.
17:22Yeah, what did you put?
17:24I put carrot.
17:25Carrot?
17:26Yeah.
17:28Josh, carrot hasn't got five letters, and he's shocking you,
17:31it's not a fruit.
17:32Yeah, I wasn't too sure.
17:33It's like the last seconds, I thought.
17:35Just put anything down.
17:36Yeah.
17:37I mean, your surname's Cook, but I don't think you do much, do you?
17:39No.
17:40Not anymore.
17:41Did you panic, or did you genuinely think that carrot was a fruit?
17:43No, no, I panicked.
17:44I didn't have a clue, to be fair.
17:45OK, fair enough, Josh.
17:46Let's see what that's done to the prize put.
17:52£71,000.
17:56Right, we lost three of you there.
17:57Six people passed, which means we have 38 players left in the game.
18:01It's time for the 40% question.
18:06Let's take a look.
18:09After pairing up as many matching pairs as you can,
18:12how many odd socks are left over?
18:15Time starts now.
18:38OK, your time is up.
18:49Let's see if you've got it right.
18:50MUSIC PLAYS
19:07OK, we lost seven people.
19:09Let's have a look at the answer.
19:11It's three, and there they are.
19:13Somebody used a pass is Stephanie Ross.
19:16You didn't know it was Stephanie.
19:18I thought it was three, and then I panicked and recounted.
19:21That extra blue sock was annoying, wasn't it?
19:23Yeah, so I passed.
19:24OK.
19:25What do you do, Stephanie?
19:26I'm a student.
19:27And what do you do in your spare time?
19:29Well, when I'm in summer from uni, I get quite bored,
19:32so I like to teach myself the kind of educational songs,
19:36like the Kings and Queens song from Horrible Histories
19:39and the States of America and the Pediatric Table
19:42is what I'm learning this summer.
19:44Can you do it?
19:45So it goes hydrogen, then helium, then lithium, beryllium,
19:48boron carbon everywhere, nitrogen all through the air,
19:50there's oxygen so you can breathe in fluorine for your pretty teeth,
19:53neon to light up the science, and sodium for salty times,
19:56magnesium, then aluminium, silicon, phosphorus,
19:59then sulphur, chlorine, and argon.
20:01That's very good.
20:02APPLAUSE
20:03I've just had a vision that the next question was going to be...
20:09periodic table, everyone was going to go,
20:11she's won it.
20:12She's absolutely won.
20:13Right, let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
20:17£78,000.
20:21Right, let's move on to the 35% question.
20:24OK, here it is.
20:26This ancient courtyard is square and has four columns on each side.
20:32How many columns are there in total?
20:35The time starts now.
20:36Visit me where you're at 3 à 2 to 1 for a 2 hours and had 32 doses.
20:46For now, we'll see if everybody can get blushes with Daddule.
20:48We're flying but she's...
20:49I'm giving you away for a 1 mile of WiFi.
20:51HE'S WEATHER SPRIT кто-SE ashes with Daddule...
20:53And we'd be back off the ocean of the sun to the beach.
20:55There's a choses where the stars are at emissions.
20:57Let's see if you do that again.
20:59Now let's see what happens now.
21:01OK, your time is up. Let's see if you've got it right and how many people are out.
21:25OK, we've lost two people. Let's have a look at the answer.
21:28It's 12. There they are. We've lost Asha Patel. Where are you, Asha?
21:33Yeah, here. You sound mortified, Asha.
21:36I put 12 and then I changed to 13 and then I panicked and I pressed confirm.
21:40You put 13? Yeah. That's not a number I was expecting to see.
21:44I know, because I double counted it as well.
21:46You didn't think it must be probably an even number, maybe, as a square?
21:49I don't know. No, listen, it's easy for me to say.
21:51I know the answers are down. Well, I don't, but they're written down here.
21:54LAUGHTER
21:55Did you have plans for the cash? Well, I was just going to go towards my career,
21:58but last night my brother said, he was like,
22:00if you're on TV, I'll, um, I'll screenshot it, get a tattoo of it on his arm.
22:05And he was like, you can pay for it with the money.
22:07So it's kind of lucky I haven't won, but... Do you think he'll do it?
22:10I don't know. He might do. He seemed pretty confident.
22:13Yeah, it's just going to be your face going, I'll be...
22:17OK, unlucky, Asha. Somebody got it right is Lewis Thomas.
22:20Where are you, Lewis? Did you get that quite quickly?
22:23Yes, and then I spent a while recounting it just to make sure I'm not going crazy,
22:27and I did get it correct. OK.
22:29What made you apply, Lewis? Well, we have a funny story.
22:32So I was always thinking of coming on the show, and then one day,
22:35I was in McDonald's eating a Big Mac, and the show was on my mind,
22:39so I was like, Big Mac, Lee Mac, let's just go for it.
22:41OK. And then I just applied.
22:43Because of that? Pretty much.
22:45So if a little two-pence piece had fallen off, tipping point.
22:49Yeah, yeah. That's what would have happened.
22:50Yeah. OK, listen, you're still with us, Lewis, so well done.
22:54Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
22:59£81,000. Right, it's time for a quick break.
23:03Well done to everyone who's still in the game.
23:04We'll see you in a bit when someone here could win up to £100,000.
23:07Welcome back to the 1% Club. We've been asking questions
23:21which have been tested out on a cross-section of the British public,
23:23and we've been whittling down the contestants here tonight,
23:26and are left with 29 people with their lights still on.
23:29As a reward, any contestant who hasn't played their pass
23:32and still has their £1,000 now has a choice.
23:35Play on for the big money in the prize pot,
23:36or you can take your £1,000 and leave the game right now.
23:40First of all, let's see which players still have their £1,000.
23:45So, those of you with your lights on,
23:46you can take your money and leave the show if you want.
23:49So please make your decision now.
23:50OK. Two people have decided to take their money,
24:07including Amanda Brooks Lamb. Hello.
24:09You didn't fancy your chances? No.
24:12Was it always the plan? Yeah, but I got a bit lucky with the Hannah question.
24:16Did you? Was it a random guess? It's my wife's name.
24:19Oh, I see.
24:19So, but you didn't know it, you just went with that name because of your wife.
24:22No. Yeah, I panicked and then it got a bit late, so I was like...
24:26Just go with her name. Yeah. Oh, well done.
24:28What are you going to do with your £1,000?
24:29Probably buy some more trainers and some Lego.
24:33Lego? Yeah.
24:33How much Lego have you got? Probably about £3,000 worth.
24:37And what does your wife think of this Lego obsession?
24:39Erm, she's got on it now. She buys the flowers.
24:42She's got on it? You make that sound like heroin.
24:43Definitely not. Yeah, she's a bit upped on the Lego now.
24:46Yeah, I've got her on it. It started off in a little brick,
24:48and then it just goes from there. It is an addiction.
24:50It's got out of hand now. She's got an old Star Wars figure.
24:53LAUGHTER Well, listen, well done, Amanda.
24:55You've got £1,000. Thank you. Congratulations.
24:59Right, so the rest of you have decided to play on.
25:01Let's see if that's a gamble that will pay off.
25:03And if any of you can go all the way and join the 1% club.
25:06And remember, if you've still got your £1,000,
25:08you can pay for a pass to the next question.
25:11It's time for the 30% question.
25:16Let's take a look.
25:20Explorer Alabama Smith's map shows the three different ways
25:24to reach the hidden treasure.
25:26What is the fewest number of times he has to cross a river
25:30to get to the prize? Your 30 seconds starts now.

25:58OK, your time is up. Let's see who got it right.
26:22Right, none of you got that wrong. Let's have a look at the answer.
26:24It's five. The bottom route crosses the river five times,
26:28which is the fewer than the top route.
26:30And the middle route, someone who got that right, is Jenny Bayliss.
26:33Did you get that quickly? Yeah, I thought it was too good to be true, to be fair.
26:36What do you do, Jenny? I have an online cocktail company.
26:40Do you? Yep, we make cocktails and deliver them through the letterbox.
26:44Oh, doesn't it smash when it hits the ground?
26:46Mm-hm. Special packaging. Ah. What's your favourite cocktail?
26:51It's actually pina colada, but we don't sell that.
26:53That is the worst bit of marketing I've ever heard.
26:56My favourite cocktail is pina colada, but we don't sell that.
26:58But if you like a pale ale, why don't you do pina colada?
27:02It's the cream. We wouldn't be able to, like... Ship it.
27:04...guarantee the freshness. Oh, OK. What's your biggest seller?
27:08Margarita. OK. I love a pizza.
27:11Listen, well done, Jenny. Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
27:14Nothing, of course, because nobody got it wrong.
27:21We are at the 25% stage now.
27:25OK, here's the question.
27:29You need to put a number from one to six into each circle,
27:33but you can only use each number once.
27:35What number will replace the question mark?
27:39OK, your time starts now.
27:58OK, time is up.
28:13Let's see who got it right.
28:28Right, we lost three people there, let's have a look at the answer.
28:33It's three, it's one and two.
28:37Someone who got it right is Asya Kadri.
28:40Did you get that quite quickly?
28:42I think so and then I kind of worked it out twice, so...
28:45OK, all right, and what do you do?
28:47I'm a software engineer but I used to be a teacher.
28:50I used to teach secondary school maths but I had to stop that
28:53because I kept getting confused for a year seven.
28:56They thought you were a child.
28:57Yeah, regularly.
28:59How old were you at the time?
29:01Like 24.
29:02You do look very young, I have to say.
29:05Do you think the school uniform didn't help?
29:08Do you usually do well at this at home?
29:10I can kind of get to the 1% question and then I bottle it,
29:13so that's probably what will happen today.
29:15OK, we'll keep an eye on you then.
29:17Don't forget, paper round tomorrow so let's get this done as quickly as possible.
29:21Right, let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
29:24We're now up to £83,000.
29:28APPLAUSE
29:30We've got 24 people screwing the game and are down to the 20% question now.
29:36Let's take a look.
29:38Which number crayon is two to the left of the one that's six to the right of the one that's three to the left of the one that's directly to the right of the crayon at number four?
29:52Your time starts now.
29:54We'll see you then.
29:55There will be more than two to the left of the one.
29:57Now we can take a look at the two of the small pieces.
29:58We'll see you in the next one.
29:59I'm going to go.
30:00We'll see you in the next one.
30:01OK, your time is up.
30:27Let's see who got it right.
30:31OK, we lost three people. Let's have a look at the answer.
30:48Six.
30:51So, somebody who got it right is Megan Hopkins.
30:54You still got your pass? Yeah, I can't believe it.
30:57Are you feeling confident? No.
30:59Did you not think you were going to get this far? No.
31:01Really? What do you do?
31:02I work in market research.
31:04And have you got plans for the money when you win?
31:06I would like to go to New Zealand
31:08and watch my boyfriend do a bungee jump.
31:11With a rope or without one?
31:12LAUGHTER
31:14I'll let him have the rope. Let him have the rope.
31:17Good luck tonight.
31:18Someone else who's got a pass is Thomas Murray.
31:20What are you going to do with the money?
31:22Probably take their kids away on holiday.
31:23Leave them there, yeah?
31:25Good idea. Bring them back as well.
31:27Do you have any sort of plan to whether to take the £10,000 at that point
31:31or would you gamble it? Do you know what you would do on stage?
31:33Under instructions from my wife, if there's more than two people...
31:37OK. ..along with me, down on the floor, go for it.
31:41If ever your wife said if there's more than two people down on the floor with you,
31:44go for it.
31:45I would say that you've got a very open relationship.
31:47LAUGHTER
31:48The other final person with a pass is our Big Mac man, Lewis Thomas.
31:52Well done, Lewis. Thank you.
31:53So, well done for those of you still in
31:55and well done for those of you who still got a pass.
31:56APPLAUSE
31:59Right, let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
32:04£94,000. Right, we are getting close to the end.
32:08It's now time for the 15% question.
32:13Let's take a look.
32:14Let's take a look.
32:16Mina has one of each of the coins below.
32:19Using any combination of them, what is the lowest amount of money
32:23she cannot make with the coins?
32:27Your 30 seconds starts now.
32:44OK, your time is up.
33:01Let's see whose lights are still on.
33:02MUSIC PLAYS
33:23Right, we lost 12 people on that one. Let's have a look at the answer.
33:26It's four pence. She can make 1p and 2p using their respective coins
33:30and 3p using 1p plus 2p, but she cannot make 4p.
33:34Somebody who got it right is Martin McDonnell. How are you?
33:37Erm, stressed.
33:40Welcome to the show. Thank you.
33:42What do you do, Martin?
33:44I'm a maths teacher.
33:45Well, then, that's handy for you.
33:47Well, the stress is going out on a maths question, isn't it?
33:50Yeah, so you don't feel good when you get a maths question.
33:52Especially if there's more pressure. OK. What are you going to do with the money?
33:56Well, I've got a great family, so they'll probably, erm...
33:59We'll get together and have a celebration.
34:01And I'll probably buy a dog for my brother.
34:04Does he want one? I think so.
34:06I would check on that before you give it to him.
34:07Don't be knocking on the door with a Great Dane and say surprise.
34:11Well done, Martin. You're still with us now.
34:12Mandy Steen also got it right. Where are you, Mandy?
34:15Are you all right? I'm having a terrible time.
34:17Oh, thanks.
34:19Well, welcome to my house. Why are you having a terrible time?
34:22I was OK until the 60% question and just since then it's been...
34:25Did you not think you were going to get this far?
34:27I think sometimes I do really well and sometimes I do terribly
34:29and I just didn't want to come on the telly and embarrass myself.
34:32You would definitely not embarrass yourself
34:34if you were going to reach the 10% question.
34:35Well, thank you. So how can you be still stressed?
34:38I don't know. I just am. Really?
34:40Yeah, so we could just cut this whole... Here's an idea then.
34:42Don't apply for television programmes. I know.
34:43I don't know why I did this to myself. I brought this on myself.
34:46So you thought you'd just apply, but as long as you're not featured.
34:49Yeah. Because you'll probably go out early anyway, won't you?
34:51And then no-one will spot you. Yeah.
34:53And here you are, down to the last few, down to the 10%,
34:55and I'm just talking to you. Thank you.
34:57And is it horrific? It's pretty bad.
34:58OK, fair enough. All right, well, listen, Mandy, well done.
35:02There's only one person in the room has got a pass,
35:04and that is Megan Hopkins. Well done, Megan. Thank you.
35:10You're doing well, Megan.
35:13Right, let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
35:18£97,000.
35:21We are down to our last nine players.
35:23After the break, we'll find out which of our remaining contestants
35:26could go on to play the 1% question. See you in a bit.
35:40Welcome back to the 1% Club. We are very nearly at the point where we will discover
35:43who our winner will be. Now, here's how the end of the game works.
35:46Whoever does the best here tonight will win £10,000. But if they're feeling brave,
35:50they can risk their £10,000 by trying to answer the 1% question. Get it right,
35:54they will win everything in the prize pot, which is currently sitting at...
35:58£97,000.
36:03And remember, Megan, because you still have your £1,000, you can pay for a pass,
36:08but you can't use it on the 1% question. But if you've still got it at the 1% question,
36:12then you get to keep that £1,000 no matter what happens.
36:16It's now time for the 10% question.
36:22Here it is.
36:24Larry the Llama always tells lies. He's hiding behind one of ten locked doors numbered 1 to 10.
36:31Behind which numbered door is Larry hiding? The time starts now.

36:41****
36:44****
36:45****
36:47****
36:48***
36:58****
37:05LOUIGHTS
37:06OK, your time is up. Let's see who got it right.
37:28Right, we lost just two people on that one. Let's have a look at the answer.
37:31It's seven. Larry always tells lies, so we have to take the opposite of what he is saying.
37:36Somebody who got it right is, great name, I love this name, Ace Doody.
37:41What do you do? I'm going to say First World War fighter pilot.
37:44Exactly. I'm Ace Doody!
37:45And in my spare time, I'm a student of psychology and linguistics.
37:49OK, and did you think you were going to do this well?
37:52I don't want to jinx it. But you did.
37:54Statistically, I tend to get to this point and then it gets a bit wary.
37:58Yeah, yeah. Anybody waiting to find out how you'll get on today?
38:01Yeah, my brother really wants me to win the money purely
38:05because he spent four hours of his time driving me up here.
38:08So the deal was, I'll drive you up, but you better win some dosh.
38:10Exactly.
38:11Does he get any of the dosh if you win?
38:13I said I'd pay for petrol.
38:14Oh, how... But only if you win the big money?
38:16Yeah.
38:17Wow, you're generous. Thanks, Ace Doody.
38:19Thanks for that £4.60 for the petrol.
38:22Well, listen, well done, Ace. You're still with us.
38:24Mandy Steen is still with us.
38:26Do you know what? You don't like being on television, do you?
38:28What?
38:29You don't like drawing attention to yourself, do you?
38:30What gave it away?
38:31I'll tell you what gave it away.
38:32You answered that quicker than anybody else in 1.5 seconds.
38:37APPLAUSE
38:39Wow.
38:40I think you do like being on television and I think you might go the whole way.
38:45Oh, I don't know.
38:46We'll find out, won't we?
38:47Well done, Mandy.
38:49And guess what, Megan Hopkins, you still have got that pass.
38:52Yeah.
38:53APPLAUSE
38:55So Megan is obviously one of the favourites now because she's still with us
38:59but she's still got the pass, but good luck to everybody.
39:01Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
39:03APPLAUSE
39:05Nothing at all because Megan is keeping hold of that £1,000.
39:09OK, we have seven people left and we are down to the 5% question.
39:16And remember, Megan, it's the last time you can pay for a pass.
39:21OK, let's take a look at it.
39:25There are eight triangles in this shape.
39:28Looking at images one and two, if you remove line A from image one
39:32and line B from image two, how many triangles will there be in image one
39:37and image two in total.
39:40The time starts now.
39:42We are slowing down.
39:43We are右 in like.
39:44There are mirrors and iets for by all of us.
39:45You can fully remove and round certain Peter whose design is not
39:46as the bottom partisions.
39:47There are two angles, two or four others.
39:57There are three angles down the road that each зал is missing from going in on-eten,
40:01so I see us two lay around.
40:03And where...
40:04Here are three angles.
40:05Leave a square aperture.
40:06All of our gepht can add on the third ground.
40:07In this particular D treating.
40:08OK, your time is up. Let's see if you've got it right.
40:34OK, we lost two people. Bad luck. Let's have a look at the answer.
40:37It's nine. There are five triangles in image one and four triangles in image two.
40:42So we did lose two people there in shocking news, including Megan Hopkins.
40:47I'm good. Megan, you must have been very sure about the answer.
40:51I was. Which one did you miss? Do you know? Can you see?
40:54Yeah, I've just seen it there. It's the big one on image one.
40:58At the side. At the side, the side triangle. Yeah.
41:02Oh, Megan, listen, you did brilliant to get this far. Thank you.
41:04Especially not using your pass. So well done. It's very unlucky.
41:07But we have our finalists. Congratulations to Lewis Thomas,
41:10Asiya Kadri, Martin McDonnell, the ace foodie and Mandy Steen.
41:15Come down and join me. You made it to the 1% question.
41:18Because you've done so well and made it to our final question, you win a share of £10,000.
41:31But now you all face a dilemma.
41:34You can leave the show tonight and take your share, which of course works out at...
41:37£2,000 each. Or you can risk it all by attempting the 1% question.
41:44If you get it right, you will win your share of everything in the prize pot, which stands at...
41:49£98,000.
41:52Get it wrong and you will, of course, leave with nothing.
41:57Obviously, if one of you decides to play on and gets it right, then you win all the prize pots.
42:01If more than one of you decides to play, you'll win a share of it.
42:04So, it's now time to make your decision.
42:06OK, all your lights are on, which means that you've decided to play on.
42:27So, Mandy, how's this not wanting to be on TV panning out?
42:30Oh, it's going great.
42:32After whittling down the contestants here in the studio, we are left with the 1% question.
42:40If you all get this right, you win your share of the prize pot and become members of the 1% Club.
42:46Good luck. This is your 1% question.
42:53If you are careful to dot all the small i's and cross all the small t's,
42:59how many crosses on the small t's and dots on the small i's are there in this particular sentence?
43:06OK, your 30 seconds starts now.

43:48Starting with Lewis, what did you put?
43:51I put 14. God.
43:54Asia. I put 12, but it's wrong, I think.
43:57Ace. I put 13.
43:59Oh, God, I only put nine.
44:01Could be the only one that's right, of course.
44:03Martin. 13.
44:05OK, so we've got a 14, a 12, a 13, a 9 and a 13.
44:10Let's have a look at the answer.
44:25It's 14.
44:28Congratulations, Lewis. You are the winner.
44:30You get everything in the prize box.
44:33£98,000.
44:35£98,000.
44:44Tell you what, Lewis, when you add that Big Mac,
44:46quite a good decision, wasn't it?
44:48I'll go on the way home to celebrate.
44:50Imagine if you'd have had a cheeseburger instead.
44:52Everything would have been different.
44:54Lewis, congratulations. Thank you.
44:55Unlucky to you four. You did brilliant to get this far.
44:57Let's have a look at the answer.
45:00There's the answer again.
45:01There they all are in the red letters there.
45:03So, congratulations, Lewis.
45:04You are in the 1% Club.
45:05Goodnight.
