00:14Hello, how are you? How are you? Hello, I'm Uncle Muhammad and I share with you
00:20topics verses from the Quran pertaining to signs or scientific miracles if you
00:28will. Today we shall speak about whether the earth is flat or round. There's an
00:38argument usually between the flat earthers and probably the round earthers.
00:44As usual we start with our introductory verse, we'll speak a little, afterwards
00:50we'll speak a little about who discovered that the earth is whatever, round or flat.
00:57We'll keep the suspense for now. And then we'll rehearse couple of verses from the
01:05Quran which proves whatever of the two options. And afterwards, as usual, we shall end
01:15with our inner nutshell verse, also to do with the scientific miracles in the Quran.
01:23So Bismillah.
01:25First of all, in the introductory verse, the second word, the second term is actually a homonym.
01:33And as usual, I have to explain to you what a homonym is, or for those who watch for the first time.
01:39The term, which is the second word in the verse, the introductory verse, is Aya. Aya is a verse.
01:47It's actually Ayat in plural, and the singular form is Aya. And Aya is a homonym. So what is a homonym? A homonym is actually
02:01a little squirrel, which has no tail. A squirrel, in case you don't know what a squirrel is, for those of you who are not English-speaking.
02:13It is the small animal called the squirrel. The squirrel has no tail. So I do hope you will live to tell the tale about the squirrel with no tail.
02:38But question for you, how can you tell the tail, if the squirrel has no tail?
02:44Ah, that's your homework. No, in fact, just as usual, the homonym is a term which has two meanings, or at times more than two meanings.
02:57In this case, the term Aya means a verse, i.e. a verse in the Quran or a verse in the Bible.
03:05And it also means a sign, and these are the signs which God give us, hence, the scientific miracles.
03:12So the first introductory verse to the general topic of the scientific miracles in the Quran is Fusilat 41, 53.
03:23And it goes,
03:25سَنُرِيهِمْ آيَاتِنَا فِي الْآفَاقِ وَفِي أَنفُسِهِمْ حَتَّى يَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُ الْحَاقَ
03:32So, translation, we shall سَنُرِيهِمْ آيَاتِنَا We shall show them our verses, or our signs, as it is a homonym.
03:56within their own selves, meaning in their bodies.
03:59فِي الْآفَاقِ وَفِي أَنفُسِهِمْ
04:01حَتَّى يَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُ الْحَاقَ
04:03until such time that it is clear, it is evident, it is manifest to them that this is the truth.
04:11What is this? What does this refer to?
04:15It actually refers to the ayat, the signs, the verses, the revelation, God's revelation to humans, to the Quran specifically.
04:26سَنُرِيهِمْ آيَاتِنَا فِي الْآفَاقِ وَفِي أَنفُسِهِمْ حَتَّى يَتَبَيْنَا لَهُمْ أَنَّهُ الْحَاقِ
04:30This was our introductory verse.
04:33Now is the earth flat or round and who discovered it?
04:39We are given to understand that it is Christopher Columbus who discovered that the earth is round in 1492.
04:52But I shed, maybe others, I don't know, others shed doubt, surely there are others who shed doubt on this fact.
05:01You know, when we were little at school all over the world, we learnt Christopher Columbus discovered that the Americas and he discovered that the earth is round.
05:09But there are some weird facts, some weird facts to do with the fact whether Christopher Columbus was the one who discovered this or not.
05:18And I doubt very much he was. And I will share with you why. Just a between brackets.
05:24In fact, Christopher Columbus, he actually stated before he left, before he left to the Americas, he said, I can go to India by sailing west.
05:39So naturally, India is east, and the statement of the year, but he said, I will sail west and reach India, meaning that the actual earth is round.
05:51But if he stated that before he left, that means he knew it before. How can someone discover something that he knew before?
05:58So that is very odd. That is very strange. That's the first thing.
06:03Second thing, he was paid by King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain.
06:12He was paid by them, and they signed a contract, and he was paid to go to the Americas.
06:19So in fact, if he signed a contract, and the contract stated that he will bring, or of course they pay, they will finance his trip, which was considered to be dangerous to the Americas.
06:34I guess they knew exactly who was there, and how many people were there before he went to the Americas, meaning what they call the Red Indians.
06:43They're neither Red nor Indians, as we know. They're the Native Americans.
