00:00Cleopatra, King Tut, the death mass, we kind of, many of us, grow away from it.

00:05And when we see a moment like this, it does bring everybody together.

00:10Yeah, this is, it was during the celebration of the year 2022 of the disaffirmment of hieroglyphs.

00:19We had an exhibition and I had two people who were asking me constantly,

00:24but why are we fascinated that much by Egypt?

00:30People really wanted to understand that point.

00:34And so I had to search and what I understood is at the end that we, it is a heritage, this fascination.

00:44The Greeks started with it, then the Romans took it.

00:48And then it came up to now and we have, I really think this is a good explanation.

00:56We really have this fascination as an heritage.

01:01And the opening of the museum today has many key words which fit absolutely to that fascination.

01:10And this is why at the beginning I was talking about the momentum.

01:16It's because we are all as a global humanity with the heritage of the grandeur of ancient Egypt.

01:29Really, we live with it.

01:31And people, when they come at the Louvre, you know, the Egyptian department has a reputation to be very much visited.

01:38Very much.

01:41And I have the feeling when I was rambling in the, you know, to look at the public and that they don't come to visit Egyptian rooms.

01:52They have an appointment.

01:53They come for a meeting with your grandmother, your grandfather, your aunt, your father, your mother.

02:03Yes.

02:04And a family experience or a transmission experience.

02:11You need that side of the visit, I guess, to be able to inherit that heritage.
