00:00:30Welcome to the football show on PLZ Soccer's YouTube channel. I'm Peter Martin, Alan Ruff and Alison McConnell are with me and of course you know exactly what's happening over the next 24 hours. The Joker has joined us and the good news is Ali, he did actually go out like that with his wife. What was your wife dressed as?
00:00:49Ali Quinn, yeah. And he does look menacing though, doesn't he? Indeed, more menacing than normal. Yeah, absolutely. I have to tell you, you look absolutely fantastic, Tam, just in case anybody's wondering who the hell it is next to us.
00:01:02So, if Tam says something really, really provocative, opinionated, it's going to look mightily diluted, Ali. Is that fair?
00:01:14That is more than fair. I think one of us got a different memo than everyone else.
00:01:19But it's a point to be your three's lack of effort, to be honest, on Halloween.
00:01:23We did great.
00:01:24It's poor.
00:01:25I thought we were getting dressed up.
00:01:27The other thing, Ruffey, I mean we were laughing about it in there, but we actually did get dressed up for Halloween for one of the shows and I was dressed up as a Grim Reaper.
00:01:36And Craig Levine gets sacked within an hour of his going on here. So we had to go in and wash all our face and take the gear off and try and look serious.
00:01:44But let's hope, because Scottish football just keeps on giving, let's hope nobody is sacked during this show.
00:01:52Simple as that.
00:01:53Although, Tam, I have to say to you, if we had been sitting here last week and said,
00:02:01Brendan's gone and Martin O'Neill's back, you wouldn't have believed it.
00:02:05No, he wouldn't have. I mean, to be honest, he'd never seen that coming in a million years.
00:02:11But to be honest with you, he's a safe pair of hands and I think him coming in with Sean Maloney,
00:02:15I think they've got off to a good start the other night, 4-0.
00:02:17And if they can keep that up, then you might get the job full-time.
00:02:21I know he's talking about just being on an interim basis, but if they go and beat Rangers,
00:02:24there might be a clamour for them to get it to the end of the season, to be honest.
00:02:26Yeah, I mean, there's no great rush.
00:02:29I think Celtic would be quite happy that they've got a steady pair of hands in Martin O'Neill just sitting in there.
00:02:35Yeah, he's a good conduit just now between the boardroom and the support, given everything that's going on.
00:02:42Had it just been a Sean Maloney announcement for the interim,
00:02:45I think it would have further inflamed tensions and current tensions that we've seen across the last few months.
00:02:51I don't think they're not going to dissipate.
00:02:53You saw the protests prior to the game against Falkirk on Wednesday evening.
00:02:57They won't go away.
00:02:58However, I do think that Martin O'Neill is a fairly steady pair of hands.
00:03:04He's come in.
00:03:05People that I've spoke to in the aftermath of Wednesday's game felt as though the football was slightly different,
00:03:11that it was a bit more direct to the early to judge, I would say, just on the back of one performance.
00:03:16But it was notable that it's the first time that Celtic had scored four goals in a league game all season, I think.
00:03:22So, obviously, a very clear remit about how they went to play.
00:03:26He'll be judged on the course of the campaign rather than over individual games.
00:03:29It's a huge game on Sunday afternoon for them at Hamden, whatever way you look at it.
00:03:36But for now, it just steadies it.
00:03:38You're right.
00:03:39There shouldn't be any rush because it's a hugely important appointment.
00:03:43It has to be a popular appointment in terms of trying to bring together a support that are up in arms at the minute
00:03:51and that's unlikely to quell any noise.
00:03:53The one thing that will dial that down is putting a winning team on the park.
00:03:57But the other thing about it, which is going to be so, so difficult to call in this game, Ruffy,
00:04:01is each manager's approach to it.
00:04:04Because if there's one thing you have to compliment Danny Rule on,
00:04:07which is an immediate observation, is that he's got them organised.
00:04:12You know, they're tight, compact at times.
00:04:14It was always going to be one of those kind of not a match filled with excitement at Easter Road.
00:04:21And so it turned out, and he'd have been happy with that.
00:04:22It was broken up quite a lot of the time with niggling fouls.
00:04:25But everybody seemed to be working their socks off and knew exactly what they were doing.
00:04:30Yeah, he's been quite good in the PR department as well.
00:04:33He's sort of worked on the supporters, you know, going over to them after a game,
00:04:37keeping them involved, you know, getting the players over.
00:04:40So he's gone into the game with the supporters getting right behind the team,
00:04:44which is always important.
00:04:46But yeah, I think winning always breeds a bit of confidence.
00:04:49And so both of them will be getting into this game with a wee bit of confidence.
00:04:52Yeah.
00:04:52One thing that I think, you know, when you think about Martin O'Neill and the type of player that he likes to play, Tam,
00:04:59if there's one thing that I know you'll be saying to the backline is you're not footballers.
00:05:04You just head the ball clear, out of the box, kick it as far away as possible,
00:05:07or kick it to someone who can play.
00:05:10Yeah, listen, I played against Martin O'Neill's teams in the early 2000s
00:05:13and without doubt it was the biggest team I've ever played.
00:05:16You know, I remember coming out the tunnel one day and just,
00:05:18they were an enormous, massive team.
00:05:19Set pieces were really important for them.
00:05:22They were quite direct.
00:05:23They didn't just lump it up the part, but they got plenty of crosses in the box.
00:05:26You know, whether that was Alan Thompson or Didier Agath into your strikers.
00:05:29So, yeah, I think that he will probably go a little bit more direct
00:05:32to try and get more balls into the box.
00:05:35And you've seen that the other night, Peter, you know,
00:05:36he scored two or three goals from crosses into the box.
00:05:39Johnny Kenny got a couple of goals.
00:05:41So, yeah, I think you will see, you'll see less time,
00:05:44kind of scales and whoever the other centre-back has trusted,
00:05:47less time with him on the ball, less passes with him.
00:05:49They'll get it forward, they'll get it wide early,
00:05:50and they'll get the ball into the box earlier.
00:05:52And our team of journalists, Ali, as you know,
00:05:54always try and just see if they can throw a fish out there
00:05:58and see if anybody will bite on it.
00:05:59They were obviously looking for a quote from Martin today
00:06:03on the comments he made on TalkSport about Rangers being so far out of it.
00:06:07And that was also put to Danny Rule today to see if he was going to bite.
00:06:11Will the players be motivated by Martin O'Neill's comments?
00:06:14First, big respect to such a coaching career.
00:06:18I think this is always great as a manager.
00:06:20When you work so long in this business and you are successful,
00:06:23I think this is great.
00:06:25I'm just at the beginning of my career.
00:06:27I have a lot of work to do to come to this point and from this year.
00:06:33But the good thing is we start by 0-0, different generations,
00:06:37and let's see what we can bring with our teams in this game.
00:06:41I think it's, for me, it's always important to focus on myself.
00:06:45I'm not the coach to look too much to other teams
00:06:49because you have to do a lot of works at the moment.
00:06:53You have to do a lot of things right here.
00:06:55My focus is on my team.
00:06:58What other coaches set around is, for me, not so important.
00:07:02It's not necessary to have such a role for motivation.
00:07:05My teams are, or my players, are really motivated for such a game.
00:07:08Raffi Jock-Wallace used to say,
00:07:11hands up if anybody needs a wee bit of motivation here for Rangers.
00:07:15And if anybody put their hand up, they were out of the team.
00:07:18You don't need to be motivated when you're playing for Celtic and Rangers.
00:07:21No, you don't have to.
00:07:22As soon as you put that jersey on, that's all that matters.
00:07:24You want to go out there for your teammates.
00:07:26You want to do well, firstly for them, obviously,
00:07:29then the supporters.
00:07:30So, I think at the weekend,
00:07:32I think Rangers have got a wee bit of sign over Celtic in these big games.
00:07:37So, it's up to Celtic to prove that they can come out and turn that around.
00:07:40Yeah, of course, everybody was alluding to Martin's last period in charge
00:07:44when he started off with quite a lot of people suggesting that,
00:07:49as far as Martin and Neil Celtic were concerned,
00:07:51it was going to take them five years to try and close that gap
00:07:54on Dick Advocat's Rangers side.
00:07:57It didn't take too long.
00:07:58There was a game at Celtic Park.
00:08:00Celtic raced into a three-goal lead,
00:08:03and it turned out to be an absolute thriller,
00:08:04ending 6-2.
00:08:06This is what Martin had to say today
00:08:08when he was speaking to the assembled members of the press.
00:08:11Replicating that 6-2 game might be extremely difficult.
00:08:15I'd settle for a really lousy 1-0 victory.
00:08:18I've obviously got fond memories.
00:08:20It was a real springboard that season.
00:08:22This is a really big game for us.
00:08:24I don't disguise that at all.
00:08:25It's a semi-final.
00:08:27It's a big match for us.
00:08:28Any Celtic versus Rangers game is a big game,
00:08:30particularly given the circumstances of recent days,
00:08:34if not weeks.
00:08:35And let's not forget that Celtic under Brendan Rodgers
00:08:39did not have a good record in the last year or so against Rangers.
00:08:43You could take Rangers out of that equation.
00:08:46Over the last year, you would struggle to see
00:08:48and pinpoint a big game where Celtic turned up,
00:08:52a big game that they won.
00:08:53Other than maybe the performance against Bayern Munich.
00:08:56Obviously, they didn't get the win,
00:08:57but there was a good performance there overall.
00:08:58Other than that, if you think about the games
00:09:01they fell short in, they fell short at Ibrox
00:09:03in the festive game.
00:09:06Again, when they played the Barry Ferguson's Rangers
00:09:08at Celtic Park, go back to the Scottish Cup final
00:09:10against Rangers at Ibrox earlier this season
00:09:13at a point where Rangers were in real disarray.
00:09:16It was chaotic.
00:09:17It was very stagnant from Celtic.
00:09:19So I think these players also have an opportunity
00:09:23to step up on Sunday.
00:09:25There's an interesting question, I think,
00:09:27ahead of Sunday's game about which manager
00:09:29and which club is under the most pressure
00:09:32going into this one.
00:09:34When you look at the background
00:09:35of the last couple of weeks,
00:09:37which team needs it most?
00:09:40And I think sometimes that's the team that prevails.
00:09:42Well, that's a good question.
00:09:43Tam, can you answer it?
00:09:44I think it's just as big a game as any, Peter,
00:09:48in terms of an all-firm game.
00:09:51Obviously Celtic going into it,
00:09:53well behind Hartzell or Rangers at the minute.
00:09:56I don't think any team necessarily is more desperate
00:09:59to win the game.
00:09:59I think both are.
00:10:00Both will be favourites.
00:10:01Obviously, if they win this game,
00:10:03they'll get into the final against Motherwell,
00:10:04they'll be heavy favourites.
00:10:06But I don't see, you know, for Danny Rowe,
00:10:09you know, I was impressed with him the other night.
00:10:10He changed the system.
00:10:12It was a real battling performance from Rangers
00:10:15and they didn't really care about going forward.
00:10:18They sat in a nice low block
00:10:19and they were really, really strong and solid.
00:10:20So I think they'll do that again against Celtic
00:10:22at the weekend.
00:10:23I think they'll make Celtic break them down.
00:10:25And I don't think Danny Rowe will be worried
00:10:29about how he wins the game.
00:10:30Particularly against Hibs as well, Peter.
00:10:31You know, I don't think Rangers were great.
00:10:33I thought Hibs were toothless up front,
00:10:35but Rangers got the result.
00:10:36I don't think he's bothering about how pretty it is.
00:10:39And if Celtic can go and get after them
00:10:41and get the first goal,
00:10:42they'd probably have to come out.
00:10:43So, no, I don't see who the favourite is in this game
00:10:46or who's more desperate to win it.
00:10:47It's an old-firm semi-final, Peter.
00:10:49They both will be desperate to win it.
00:10:50I think if you're looking for a blame game, though,
00:10:52I mean, Danny Rowe is in the early embryonic stages
00:10:55of his managerial career.
00:10:57He'd love to get that win.
00:10:58If you were looking for, suddenly at the end of it,
00:11:00somebody actually getting more angry than others,
00:11:02the Rangers fans are looking and saying,
00:11:04right, this is the start of something
00:11:05like what we've witnessed over the last couple of games.
00:11:09But then, you know, you look at Celtic
00:11:12and the Celtic fans would just go,
00:11:14this is all the board's doing.
00:11:15Yeah, I think Celtic,
00:11:17the question Alison's put out there,
00:11:18I think Celtic need to win it more than Rangers.
00:11:21If Celtic don't win it,
00:11:22we know what's going to happen.
00:11:23The protests are going to continue.
00:11:24There was a couple of thousand outside the Falkirk game.
00:11:27That's going to get bigger and bigger.
00:11:29They're not going to go away.
00:11:30And we've already all agreed
00:11:32the only way for these things to go away
00:11:34is to win games.
00:11:35So if they don't win the semi-final,
00:11:37it's just going to kick off again.
00:11:38I think you're right with Rangers.
00:11:40You know, they've got a new guy in there.
00:11:42He's winning games.
00:11:43You don't hear anybody talking about
00:11:44the people upstairs now.
00:11:47They've got off the hook now
00:11:48because a new manager comes in.
00:11:50He's turned it around a wee bit.
00:11:52So for me, Celtic need to win the game.
00:11:54Yeah, I was just looking there
00:11:55and I was trying to get back to it, Alison.
00:11:57Trying to look at the line-ups
00:11:59because this is the key to it.
00:12:01How both managers are going to approach it.
00:12:04It was a 4-3-3.
00:12:05And again, no surprise,
00:12:07Martin O'Neill wasn't looking towards youth.
00:12:09He just wanted to make sure
00:12:10he was going to get experience in there,
00:12:13get the result,
00:12:15start to,
00:12:16even if you listen to him afterward,
00:12:18instill a bit of confidence in players
00:12:20that basically being told
00:12:21they were nothing short of mediocre.
00:12:22So he had Ralph St. Trusty was back in,
00:12:25scales,
00:12:26so he wasn't really caring about the balance
00:12:27that Brendan Rodgers had said to me
00:12:29on the Sunday.
00:12:30Then Sirachi,
00:12:32no Tierney.
00:12:34He was really good.
00:12:35Engels,
00:12:35McGregor,
00:12:36Negrin,
00:12:37then Forrest,
00:12:38Kenny,
00:12:39and Tonecki.
00:12:40And you wonder
00:12:41if the main dilemma for him will be,
00:12:45okay,
00:12:46that was us,
00:12:47solid,
00:12:48but a little bit more direct,
00:12:50but you wonder if Maida
00:12:52can give him 90 minutes
00:12:53or at least give him 60 or 75
00:12:55that could be telling.
00:12:57If Maida is fit
00:12:58and they think he's capable of something,
00:13:00I think he starts.
00:13:01I think he's just,
00:13:03he's caused so many problems
00:13:04for Rangers
00:13:05over the course of his Celtic career.
00:13:07I think he's a player who spooks
00:13:09that Rangers backline with his pace
00:13:11and you've seen
00:13:12how Celtic at points
00:13:13have utilised that
00:13:14to great effect
00:13:15in this fixture.
00:13:17For me,
00:13:17if he's fit
00:13:18and they believe
00:13:19he's capable of starting,
00:13:21I think he goes straight back in
00:13:22to the starting line-up.
00:13:23And when I saw
00:13:25that he came off the bench
00:13:26the other night,
00:13:26I did wonder if that was why.
00:13:27Just get a few minutes in
00:13:28so that you're in a position
00:13:30to go and play
00:13:31on Sunday.
00:13:32There was no huge surprise
00:13:34to me
00:13:35that a Martin O'Neill team
00:13:36went with experience
00:13:38over putting kids in again.
00:13:41I thought it was sensible.
00:13:43Celtic needed a result
00:13:44on Wednesday night.
00:13:45They needed to win the game.
00:13:47They needed just to settle down
00:13:49after obviously
00:13:49the defeats to Dundee,
00:13:51the defeats to Hearts
00:13:51and then all the oddness really,
00:13:54the surreal nature
00:13:54of the 48 hours
00:13:56that had gone before it
00:13:56with the resignation
00:13:58of Brendan Rodgers
00:13:59and Martin O'Neill coming in.
00:14:00It just needed to be
00:14:01a focus on entirely
00:14:03what was going on
00:14:04on the park
00:14:05and a bit of positivity
00:14:06to draw from it
00:14:08ahead of going to Hamden.
00:14:10There's no great mystery
00:14:11about how Martin O'Neill
00:14:13sets up teams
00:14:14and what he goes with.
00:14:16Everyone here will know
00:14:17and can anticipate
00:14:18how he'll set teams up.
00:14:20The big thing
00:14:20and the big question
00:14:22for me is
00:14:23how now
00:14:23he has such a fantastic
00:14:25reputation
00:14:26in terms of
00:14:28motivating players
00:14:30and getting the best
00:14:31out of them.
00:14:32What will be interesting
00:14:33for me is how
00:14:34those methods translate
00:14:35in a modern dressing room
00:14:37and whether or not
00:14:38he gets an immediate tune
00:14:39out of the Celtic team.
00:14:40Well that's him
00:14:41as a motivator.
00:14:42Danny O'Reill
00:14:42as a motivator
00:14:43we don't know
00:14:44but I'd love to be
00:14:45I'll tell you one thing
00:14:46he is
00:14:46he's animated
00:14:47in the track side
00:14:48a lot more
00:14:48than Russell Martin was
00:14:50but it'd be interesting
00:14:52I'd love to be
00:14:52a fly on the wall
00:14:53to see the type
00:14:54of direction
00:14:55that he gives him
00:14:55he'll certainly be
00:14:56as most Germans
00:14:57you know
00:14:58this is the way
00:14:59we want to play
00:15:00in the formation
00:15:01this is your role
00:15:02but I wonder
00:15:02how he's putting it
00:15:03across
00:15:03I look at that team
00:15:04and I wonder
00:15:05will Tavernier start?
00:15:07You've got Butland
00:15:08then Jiga
00:15:09Suter
00:15:10and Cornelius
00:15:11and then it was
00:15:12Max Ahrens
00:15:13Connor Barron
00:15:13Nico Raskin
00:15:14Magoma
00:15:15and then Danilo
00:15:16Cermiti
00:15:17and Mikey Moore
00:15:18I think Barron
00:15:18is suspended
00:15:19I think Barron
00:15:20is out
00:15:20so I think
00:15:21Diamandi will come in
00:15:22I thought they
00:15:22probably rested him
00:15:23for that game
00:15:23and I said
00:15:25at the other night
00:15:26I thought that
00:15:26Rangers possibly rested
00:15:27three or four
00:15:28against Hibs
00:15:29I know he's trying
00:15:30to look at different
00:15:30players and different
00:15:31systems but
00:15:32I didn't think
00:15:33that was Rangers
00:15:33the strongest team
00:15:34and I think
00:15:34that Gassamer
00:15:35will definitely
00:15:35come back in
00:15:36Miofsky
00:15:36I think Miofsky
00:15:38could possibly come in
00:15:38for Cermiti
00:15:39and I think
00:15:41Tavenier will come back
00:15:42in
00:15:42the skipper
00:15:42will come back in
00:15:43but I thought
00:15:43the three at the back
00:15:44really suited Rangers
00:15:45I thought they were
00:15:45much more solid at the back
00:15:47Magoma
00:15:48I thought was excellent
00:15:49on the left hand side
00:15:50I think
00:15:51if you're a left back
00:15:52or a left wing back
00:15:53and you've got three
00:15:54sitting behind you
00:15:55you're more confident
00:15:56going forward Peter
00:15:56you don't think
00:15:56they're going to get
00:15:57caught out
00:15:57because you've got
00:15:58three sitting back there
00:15:59so I thought
00:15:59that suited him
00:16:00a lot better
00:16:00he was good going forward
00:16:02but
00:16:02I think that Rangers
00:16:04I think Danny Rall
00:16:05in particular
00:16:06as a manager
00:16:06you could see
00:16:07some of his ideas
00:16:08were starting to get
00:16:09across the other night
00:16:09I thought the game
00:16:10you mentioned
00:16:11that you touched on
00:16:11at the start
00:16:12was very bitty
00:16:13a lot of fills
00:16:13but every time
00:16:14a Hibs player broke away
00:16:15Rangers player filled him
00:16:16and I don't think
00:16:17that's coincidence
00:16:18I don't think
00:16:19that's just
00:16:19what just happened
00:16:20I think that's him
00:16:21and his coaching staff
00:16:22saying
00:16:22if we're behind
00:16:23if we're under the cosh
00:16:24and somebody's on the breakaway
00:16:26take a fill
00:16:26take a yellow card
00:16:27I remember working
00:16:28with Rainer Bonhoff
00:16:29with Scotland under 21s
00:16:31he was exactly the same
00:16:32if somebody's breaking
00:16:33take a card
00:16:34it was just
00:16:35a German coaching thing
00:16:36so I thought
00:16:37they were solid
00:16:38really really solid
00:16:39at the back bar
00:16:39Hibs is penalty
00:16:40Hibs never looked like scoring
00:16:41so
00:16:41I think if you're
00:16:43a Ranger supporter
00:16:43you're looking for a manager
00:16:44to now get the best
00:16:45out of this team
00:16:46and play them
00:16:46in the system
00:16:47that suits the players
00:16:48and I think
00:16:49Danny Roll
00:16:50done that to a tee
00:16:50the other night
00:16:51yeah the other thing
00:16:52I was impressed with
00:16:53you
00:16:53Alec Ray said it
00:16:54on Monday
00:16:55Danilo is the most
00:16:56natural finisher
00:16:57in the club
00:16:59he did call it
00:17:00yeah well
00:17:01he's been in and out
00:17:02obviously not
00:17:03established for himself
00:17:04he came with a high
00:17:05high regard
00:17:06for everywhere he'd been
00:17:07we saw wee glimpses
00:17:09of it here and there
00:17:10and then
00:17:10he disappeared off the scene
00:17:12for a wee bit
00:17:12and now he's back in
00:17:14he's scored two goals
00:17:15now he's obviously
00:17:16confident
00:17:16you would think
00:17:18he would try and find
00:17:18a way or a place
00:17:19for him to play
00:17:20but I think we're all
00:17:22just waiting to see
00:17:23you know
00:17:23were these players
00:17:24getting rotated
00:17:25or were they injured
00:17:27or whatever
00:17:27so team lines
00:17:28are going to be
00:17:29very very important
00:17:30but for me
00:17:30it's all about Rangers
00:17:32if Rangers go ahead
00:17:33they look great
00:17:34if they go behind
00:17:35they don't look great
00:17:36so it's important
00:17:37for them to score first
00:17:38yeah
00:17:39if I was calling
00:17:40a game of this
00:17:41nature
00:17:42as to what
00:17:43the Celtic fans
00:17:44and Rangers fans
00:17:45would like to see
00:17:46you're looking for
00:17:48you're definitely
00:17:49going to be looking
00:17:49for a set piece
00:17:50that could end
00:17:51and I think it's
00:17:51going to be so tight
00:17:52if you're a Celtic fan
00:17:53you're hoping Maida plays
00:17:54I don't think
00:17:55I
00:17:56the Aloy scored
00:17:57in midweek
00:17:59against Falkirk
00:17:59I don't think
00:18:00Johnny Kenny
00:18:01is at the level
00:18:02for this game
00:18:03he might get the nod
00:18:05I'd be amazed
00:18:06if he did
00:18:06if he gets the nod
00:18:07I would suspect
00:18:08it's because Maida
00:18:09just isn't fit enough
00:18:10to start
00:18:10and it's a case
00:18:11of maybe bringing him on
00:18:12for the last 15-20 minutes
00:18:14and seeing if he can
00:18:15give you something
00:18:16I'd tend to agree with you
00:18:17Kenny
00:18:18showed up well
00:18:20on Wednesday night
00:18:20against Falkirk
00:18:21and no disrespect
00:18:22to Falkirk
00:18:23but the magnitude
00:18:23of Sunday's game
00:18:24is a step up
00:18:26in terms of
00:18:27the quality of opposition
00:18:28but also to the magnitude
00:18:30and enormity
00:18:31of the occasion
00:18:32Maida
00:18:33has been over the course
00:18:35so many times
00:18:36he has the experience
00:18:37of playing
00:18:38high profile games
00:18:40of playing against
00:18:40Rangers
00:18:41and also of scoring
00:18:43big goals
00:18:44for Celtic
00:18:44he's turned up
00:18:45on the big occasion
00:18:46and this is a problem
00:18:48really
00:18:48I suppose
00:18:49that we've debated
00:18:50for so long
00:18:51over the last couple of months
00:18:52when you look at
00:18:52the Celtic squad
00:18:53there is such a paucity
00:18:55of attacking players
00:18:56at the disposal
00:18:57of any manager
00:18:58who's in there
00:18:58I think if you ask
00:18:59most centre-halves
00:19:00they'd rather play
00:19:01against a Kenny
00:19:01than an immediate Maida
00:19:03they would rather play
00:19:05against a big guy
00:19:06who's physical
00:19:07so they can combate
00:19:08their physicality
00:19:10against them
00:19:10and that suits them
00:19:11they don't want
00:19:12a wee guy
00:19:12buzzing about
00:19:13and being half a yard
00:19:14shorter than them
00:19:15and outdoing them
00:19:16for pace
00:19:17so Maida
00:19:18was an interesting one
00:19:20I think
00:19:20Martin O'Neill
00:19:21had said
00:19:21the physio
00:19:22had said
00:19:22you can get him
00:19:23for 25 minutes
00:19:24but no more
00:19:25so it depends
00:19:26how much
00:19:26they're actually
00:19:27going to say to him
00:19:27on the day
00:19:28start them
00:19:30and he'll maybe
00:19:30give you 60
00:19:31but you have to
00:19:31prepare to put
00:19:32Kenny on
00:19:33James Tavernier
00:19:35certainly doesn't
00:19:36like a Maida
00:19:37does he?
00:19:38No
00:19:38I think that
00:19:40he's terrorised
00:19:41James Tavernier
00:19:42over the last
00:19:43couple of seasons
00:19:44and listen
00:19:45Hamden's a huge pitch
00:19:46it really is
00:19:47and Maida's pace
00:19:48and the space
00:19:49that Rangers
00:19:49could leave in behind
00:19:50would be perfect
00:19:51for him
00:19:52but as Alison said
00:19:53I think with
00:19:54Johnny Kenny
00:19:55getting the two goals
00:19:55the other night
00:19:55his confidence
00:19:56will be high
00:19:56I think he will
00:19:57probably start the game
00:19:58but he's now
00:20:00got a few more
00:20:01options
00:20:01because obviously
00:20:02Maida's back
00:20:02fit again
00:20:03James Forrest
00:20:03played well
00:20:04the other night
00:20:04but I think
00:20:05James Forrest
00:20:05is more
00:20:06an impact sub
00:20:07maybe 20-25
00:20:08minutes coming
00:20:09off the bench
00:20:09but he was
00:20:10excellent
00:20:10the other night
00:20:10took his
00:20:10opportunities
00:20:11so if Celtic
00:20:13played the same
00:20:1411 it wouldn't
00:20:15surprise me
00:20:15because Martin
00:20:16Leone was pretty
00:20:16consistent as we
00:20:17know back in the
00:20:17day
00:20:17if a team was
00:20:18winning and doing
00:20:19well for him
00:20:19he kept with
00:20:20the same pool
00:20:21of players
00:20:21I think he's
00:20:22got to go
00:20:22tried and trusted
00:20:23the difficulty
00:20:24now and this
00:20:24is where we've
00:20:25got to call it
00:20:26Ruffey
00:20:26who wins it?
00:20:29I've already
00:20:30touched on it
00:20:30and I think
00:20:31the first team
00:20:32that scores
00:20:32will win the
00:20:33game
00:20:33there's not many
00:20:34times that the
00:20:35teams come from
00:20:35behind in these
00:20:36particularly the
00:20:37way the two
00:20:37teams are now
00:20:38none of them
00:20:38is way ahead
00:20:39of each other
00:20:41so I think the
00:20:42first goal is a
00:20:43really important
00:20:44one
00:20:44it'll lift one
00:20:46side of the
00:20:47game and the
00:20:48players will be
00:20:49up for it
00:20:49I just think
00:20:50Rangers players
00:20:51have showed
00:20:52if they don't
00:20:53go ahead
00:20:53they go into
00:20:54a wee shell
00:20:54and they find
00:20:55it difficult to
00:20:56deal with
00:20:56it might be
00:20:56different with
00:20:57a new manager
00:20:57but no
00:20:59first goal for
00:21:00me is an
00:21:00important one
00:21:01Celtic 2-1
00:21:03I thought you
00:21:04were asking
00:21:05I didn't know
00:21:06you were on a
00:21:06prediction
00:21:07we didn't want
00:21:07a long win
00:21:08Celtic 2-1
00:21:11Celtic 2-1
00:21:12Ali
00:21:13on current
00:21:14evidence it's
00:21:15very difficult
00:21:16to separate
00:21:17them
00:21:17neither have
00:21:19been particularly
00:21:19convincing in the
00:21:21lead up to this
00:21:21game both
00:21:23showing massive
00:21:25changes in
00:21:26personnel in
00:21:27terms of the
00:21:28dugouts across
00:21:28the last couple
00:21:29of weeks both
00:21:30winning midweek
00:21:31I'm going to
00:21:33say Celtic 2-1
00:21:35I think Martin
00:21:36O'Neill might
00:21:37give them a bit
00:21:38of a bounce
00:21:39but I think it's
00:21:41an enormously
00:21:41difficult game
00:21:42on evidence
00:21:43that's presented
00:21:44in front of you
00:21:44of both teams
00:21:45there's so little
00:21:47between them
00:21:48just now in terms
00:21:48of quality
00:21:49I think Celtic
00:21:50just edge it
00:21:50with players
00:21:51who can come up
00:21:53with big moments
00:21:53again it's a
00:21:58difficult one to
00:21:58call it really
00:21:59is I think
00:22:00Celtic are still
00:22:00marginally a
00:22:01better team than
00:22:01Rangers I think
00:22:03that Celtic have
00:22:03marginally got
00:22:04better players
00:22:05I agree with Ali
00:22:05I think Martin
00:22:06O'Neill might
00:22:06come in and
00:22:06give them a
00:22:07wee bit of a
00:22:07boost but there
00:22:08won't be much
00:22:08in it I think
00:22:09extra time
00:22:09penalties huge
00:22:11possibility I
00:22:13will Celtic to
00:22:14nick it in extra
00:22:14time 2-1
00:22:15The big thing
00:22:17for Rangers is
00:22:17stopping Callum
00:22:18McGregor we saw
00:22:20Hearts doing it
00:22:21with Evelyn and
00:22:21people coming
00:22:22into his space
00:22:23if Rangers can
00:22:24stop him for
00:22:25controlling the
00:22:26game they've got
00:22:27a chance
00:22:27Well I may as
00:22:29well buck the
00:22:29trend Rangers to
00:22:30win it in penalties
00:22:31and I think it'll
00:22:32be one of those
00:22:33games where
00:22:34eventually in the
00:22:34press box Alison
00:22:36just looks at me
00:22:37and thinks we're
00:22:39going to extra
00:22:39time I'm raging
00:22:40I'm going to be
00:22:41here till midnight
00:22:42and she'll look at
00:22:43me as if it's my
00:22:44fault and I'll
00:22:45feel like a piece
00:22:46of dirt on her
00:22:46shoe and I just
00:22:47have to get on
00:22:48with it Ruffy
00:22:49That'll be when
00:22:50Peter's sitting
00:22:50watching the game
00:22:51and not doing any
00:22:52work
00:22:52Yes Ali
00:22:56Ali for my
00:22:597000th Rangers
00:23:01Celtic game I
00:23:02think you're
00:23:03absolutely right
00:23:03You've never been
00:23:04at a Rangers
00:23:05Celtic game when
00:23:06Peter can actually
00:23:07impersonate working
00:23:08when not on his
00:23:09computer
00:23:10He's a bubble
00:23:11He's a bubble
00:23:12He's a bubble
00:23:12He's a bubble
00:23:13Still my favourite
00:23:15Still my favourite
00:23:16game by the way
00:23:17I have to tell you
00:23:17I get a lot of
00:23:18abuse at those
00:23:19games under normal
00:23:20circumstances
00:23:20That's why I'm
00:23:21not sitting next
00:23:21This is the other
00:23:22thing because what
00:23:23usually happens
00:23:24you go into the
00:23:25press room you
00:23:26go into the press
00:23:26box it's just
00:23:28your Donald Duck
00:23:29where you're
00:23:30sitting so on
00:23:31this occasion the
00:23:33press officer
00:23:34decided to put me
00:23:35and Ruffy right
00:23:36over in the
00:23:36corner on the
00:23:37left hand side
00:23:38so we're the
00:23:39only two right
00:23:40next to the
00:23:41Rangers fans and
00:23:44they let me have
00:23:45it and then they
00:23:47let Ruffy have it
00:23:48obviously Ruffy was
00:23:49going through a
00:23:49difficult time with
00:23:50his weight so they
00:23:51were mentioning that
00:23:52so they I kid you
00:23:54not they absolutely
00:23:55battered us and
00:23:57then eventually
00:23:58this is it it's the
00:24:01one where Rangers
00:24:01won in the semi
00:24:02final on penalties
00:24:03so at this point
00:24:05there's no Celtic
00:24:06fans left in the
00:24:07stadium and I'm
00:24:09doing this and he
00:24:11said what are you
00:24:12writing I went
00:24:13nothing until
00:24:14everybody leaves
00:24:14I'm just keeping
00:24:18my head down
00:24:18because I don't
00:24:19want to look up
00:24:20and suffer the
00:24:21pelters but
00:24:22nevertheless I
00:24:24think it's going
00:24:24to be a rotten
00:24:24game I think it's
00:24:26going to be littered
00:24:27with fouls I
00:24:29wouldn't rule out
00:24:30a red card and I
00:24:31certainly wouldn't
00:24:32rule out a
00:24:33controversial decision
00:24:34because this one
00:24:35is it's so tough
00:24:37to call because I
00:24:39don't know what
00:24:39a loyal gopher
00:24:40experience I don't
00:24:41know what Martin's
00:24:42I don't know what
00:24:43Martin's going to do
00:24:44and his message to
00:24:45the back line
00:24:46because he's
00:24:47certainly not going
00:24:48to be listening to
00:24:49anybody saying let's
00:24:50play it all across
00:24:51the back line
00:24:51tippy-tappy
00:24:52left to right
00:24:53left to right
00:24:54so he's going to
00:24:55try and get it
00:24:56forward quickly
00:24:56and for Danny
00:24:57Rule and I've
00:24:58been impressed
00:24:59with the fact
00:24:59that he's not
00:25:01here to win
00:25:02anybody over
00:25:02with free-flowing
00:25:04football at the
00:25:04moment he's just
00:25:05very pragmatic
00:25:06get results
00:25:07build momentum
00:25:08see where you go
00:25:09so I think it's
00:25:10going to penalties
00:25:11other than that
00:25:13Jack Butlin's
00:25:14saved his last
00:25:15six his last
00:25:15seven penalties
00:25:16as well
00:25:17so I think
00:25:18definitely Rangers
00:25:19would have an edge
00:25:19if it went to
00:25:19penalties I think
00:25:20they've got a
00:25:20better goalkeeper
00:25:21for stopping
00:25:22penalties
00:25:22yeah that's a
00:25:23good line as
00:25:24well if only
00:25:24you'd made it
00:25:25in your normal
00:25:26gear we could
00:25:27have taken you
00:25:27seriously
00:25:27now on that
00:25:30point I was
00:25:30going to say
00:25:31to you
00:25:31we've given a
00:25:32prediction in the
00:25:33game give us
00:25:33your prediction
00:25:34what do you
00:25:34think don't
00:25:35just say it's
00:25:36going to be
00:25:362-1 Rangers
00:25:37or 2-1 Celtic
00:25:38or whatever
00:25:38tell us why
00:25:40you think that
00:25:41it's going to
00:25:42end up that
00:25:42we would love
00:25:43to hear your
00:25:44opinion on it
00:25:44and then
00:25:45we'll read
00:25:48some of it
00:25:48out
00:25:49simple as
00:25:50that
00:25:50thank you
00:25:51again
00:25:51and even
00:25:52Jimbo says
00:25:53you'll be
00:25:53proven wrong
00:25:54again Peter
00:25:54Jimbo I have
00:25:56been wrong
00:25:56on many an
00:25:57occasion
00:25:57that's the
00:25:58nature of it
00:25:59but at least
00:25:59you get
00:26:00sometimes I am
00:26:00wrong but I
00:26:01am never wrong
00:26:01yes at least
00:26:03you get an
00:26:03opinion for God's
00:26:04sake you know
00:26:05which is better
00:26:06than some flag
00:26:07waivers I could
00:26:08mention but
00:26:08that's for
00:26:09another programme
00:26:09as far as
00:26:11Martin O'Neill
00:26:11is concerned
00:26:12he's in there
00:26:12I'm not too
00:26:14sure Ali
00:26:15that anybody
00:26:16will be
00:26:17suddenly you
00:26:18know clamouring
00:26:19for Martin to
00:26:19get the job
00:26:20full time if
00:26:21he defeats
00:26:21Rangers
00:26:21I disagree
00:26:23do you do
00:26:24you think
00:26:24there's going
00:26:24to be a huge
00:26:25clamour for
00:26:25I don't
00:26:26to the end
00:26:26of the season
00:26:27I think
00:26:27yeah
00:26:28what is that
00:26:29by him
00:26:30time for
00:26:31what time
00:26:31for who
00:26:32I don't
00:26:32know
00:26:32Craig Bellamy
00:26:33no I don't
00:26:34know who's
00:26:34Cian McKenna
00:26:35has been mentioned
00:26:36as well but
00:26:36you obviously
00:26:37get the odds
00:26:38there as well
00:26:38who's going
00:26:39to come in
00:26:39but
00:26:39I think
00:26:41there will
00:26:41be a clamour
00:26:42if Martin
00:26:42O'Neill
00:26:43wins this
00:26:43game
00:26:43Cian McKenna
00:26:443-1
00:26:45Robbie Keane
00:26:466-1
00:26:47Martin himself
00:26:487-1
00:26:49Lee Carsley
00:26:50interesting
00:26:51at 8-1
00:26:52Craig Bellamy
00:26:5310-1
00:26:53I don't
00:26:55think Martin
00:26:56O'Neill
00:26:56will get it
00:26:56I think
00:26:57Martin's
00:26:57already stated
00:26:58he's a
00:26:59privilege
00:26:59being here
00:27:00being asked
00:27:00back
00:27:00blah blah
00:27:01blah
00:27:01it's great
00:27:02association
00:27:03with the
00:27:03club
00:27:04and as I
00:27:05keep repeating
00:27:06myself
00:27:06he has
00:27:07went for
00:27:08the boy
00:27:08at Ipswich
00:27:09he knows
00:27:10him
00:27:10he's already
00:27:11said he's
00:27:12a young
00:27:12manager
00:27:13on the
00:27:13up
00:27:13and he
00:27:13keeps
00:27:14this
00:27:14young
00:27:14thing
00:27:14I think
00:27:15it's
00:27:15going to go
00:27:15down a
00:27:16road of
00:27:16a young
00:27:17upcoming
00:27:18manager
00:27:18I think
00:27:19that's
00:27:19the way
00:27:20ahead
00:27:20I think
00:27:20they've done
00:27:21the experience
00:27:21bit
00:27:22now they're
00:27:23looking for
00:27:23stability
00:27:24why do you
00:27:26say that
00:27:26because the
00:27:27last two
00:27:28managers
00:27:28who were
00:27:28experienced
00:27:29delivered
00:27:29success
00:27:30I'm just
00:27:31going with
00:27:32the Martin
00:27:32O'Neill
00:27:32interview
00:27:33he's been
00:27:35in dialogue
00:27:35with the
00:27:36owners
00:27:37he's been
00:27:37in dialogue
00:27:38with him
00:27:40coming in
00:27:40and they've
00:27:41told him
00:27:41why he's
00:27:42coming in
00:27:42and they've
00:27:43obviously
00:27:43asked him
00:27:44his view
00:27:44the experience
00:27:45that he's
00:27:46got
00:27:46what way
00:27:47do you
00:27:47think we
00:27:47should go
00:27:47yeah
00:27:53it's an
00:27:53interesting
00:27:53one Ali
00:27:54on the
00:27:54basis
00:27:54that
00:27:55you've
00:27:55had two
00:27:56experienced
00:27:56managers
00:27:57who've
00:27:57had a
00:27:57good CV
00:27:58who've
00:27:59been able
00:27:59to deliver
00:28:00success
00:28:00it screams
00:28:02out to me
00:28:02that there's
00:28:03got to be
00:28:03somebody with
00:28:04a CV
00:28:04who can
00:28:05handle it
00:28:05and obviously
00:28:06if a young
00:28:08man gets
00:28:08it there is
00:28:09a risk
00:28:09and also
00:28:10the accusation
00:28:11would be
00:28:11wait a minute
00:28:11this is going
00:28:12to be
00:28:12somebody
00:28:12who's
00:28:13not going
00:28:13to be
00:28:13strong
00:28:14enough
00:28:14and could
00:28:14be
00:28:14manipulated
00:28:15by that
00:28:15board
00:28:16I agree
00:28:17in terms
00:28:18of
00:28:19it has
00:28:20to be
00:28:20someone
00:28:20who has
00:28:21a track
00:28:21record
00:28:21coming in
00:28:22it has
00:28:23to be
00:28:23someone
00:28:23with a
00:28:24background
00:28:24of having
00:28:25achieved
00:28:26things
00:28:27and made
00:28:27their mark
00:28:28already in
00:28:28the game
00:28:29I know
00:28:29Ciarán
00:28:29McKenna
00:28:30has been
00:28:30talked about
00:28:31in favourable
00:28:32terms
00:28:32certainly by
00:28:33the Celtic
00:28:34support
00:28:34I just
00:28:35wonder about
00:28:35the finances
00:28:36involved
00:28:37in that
00:28:38I think
00:28:38it may be
00:28:39slightly
00:28:40prohibitive
00:28:40for Celtic
00:28:41I think
00:28:41he's one
00:28:42of the
00:28:42higher
00:28:43earners
00:28:43in the
00:28:44Premier League
00:28:44I think
00:28:44you're
00:28:44talking around
00:28:45£5 million
00:28:45a year
00:28:46it's a lot
00:28:47it's a huge
00:28:48financial
00:28:49commitment
00:28:49I'm not
00:28:50sure how
00:28:50viable that
00:28:51would be
00:28:52for Celtic
00:28:53but I think
00:28:53someone of
00:28:54that ilk
00:28:55and that
00:28:56blueprint
00:28:57would be
00:28:57the managerial
00:28:59candidate
00:28:59that they're
00:28:59looking for
00:29:00for me
00:29:01it wouldn't
00:29:01be an
00:29:02up and
00:29:02coming
00:29:03young
00:29:03manager
00:29:04keen to
00:29:04make their
00:29:05mark
00:29:05at the
00:29:06club
00:29:06and the
00:29:07reason for
00:29:08that would
00:29:09be that
00:29:09they can't
00:29:10afford it
00:29:10for it not
00:29:11to work
00:29:11it has to
00:29:12be a success
00:29:12and it has to
00:29:13be an
00:29:14appointment
00:29:14that everyone
00:29:15gets behind
00:29:16immediately
00:29:16given the
00:29:17discord that
00:29:17we've seen
00:29:18across recent
00:29:18months
00:29:19and that
00:29:19person has
00:29:20to sit
00:29:20in the
00:29:20seat
00:29:20and say
00:29:21I've had
00:29:21a word
00:29:21with the
00:29:21board and
00:29:22we're getting
00:29:22money in
00:29:22January
00:29:23that's the
00:29:24remit
00:29:25that doesn't
00:29:26kill off
00:29:27the unrest
00:29:28but it's a
00:29:29narrative
00:29:30I do wonder
00:29:34if maybe
00:29:35if the next
00:29:36few weeks
00:29:37are calm
00:29:38and Celtic
00:29:39piece together
00:29:40a sequence
00:29:41of results
00:29:42particularly
00:29:42starting with
00:29:43Sunday
00:29:44if it just
00:29:45eases the
00:29:46pressure on
00:29:47everyone and
00:29:48allows them to
00:29:49take their
00:29:49time
00:29:49allows them not
00:29:50to rush into
00:29:51an appointment
00:29:52but just to
00:29:53draw breath
00:29:54and cast their
00:29:56net fairly
00:29:57widely
00:29:58rather than
00:29:59feeling as
00:29:59though you've
00:30:00got to get
00:30:00an appointment
00:30:01in the door
00:30:02fairly quickly
00:30:03I also wonder
00:30:04about maybe
00:30:06whether or not
00:30:07I don't think
00:30:08Martin O'Neill
00:30:08will want the
00:30:09job on a
00:30:10full time basis
00:30:11I would wonder
00:30:12would there be
00:30:13a role for him
00:30:14if there was
00:30:14some kind of
00:30:15structural change
00:30:16internally
00:30:17would there be
00:30:18a role to
00:30:19accommodate
00:30:19someone of
00:30:22his clear
00:30:23experience
00:30:24and association
00:30:25with the club
00:30:26when it comes
00:30:27to going forward
00:30:28I think
00:30:29Alaston
00:30:29if he goes
00:30:29out and
00:30:30obviously
00:30:30packed
00:30:31Hamden
00:30:31beats
00:30:32Rangers
00:30:32gets that
00:30:33buzz
00:30:33and that
00:30:33feeling
00:30:34back
00:30:34that he
00:30:34would
00:30:34get the
00:30:36bug again
00:30:36and think
00:30:37I quite
00:30:37fancy
00:30:37it's a
00:30:38possibility
00:30:39it's definitely
00:30:40a possibility
00:30:40I think
00:30:41you've seen
00:30:41obviously
00:30:41Barry Ferguson
00:30:42as a younger
00:30:43man but I
00:30:43think you've
00:30:44seen that
00:30:44when Barry
00:30:44went in
00:30:45he went in
00:30:46and he wanted
00:30:48the job
00:30:48and he got
00:30:49that buzz
00:30:49back
00:30:49I do forget
00:30:50the intensity
00:30:51of the job
00:30:52of what it's
00:30:53like day
00:30:53to day
00:30:54when you're
00:30:54in it
00:30:55the scope
00:30:56of the
00:30:56pressure
00:30:57the microscopic
00:30:58intensity
00:30:59every moment
00:31:01of every day
00:31:02and just where
00:31:04the focus is
00:31:05on results
00:31:06constantly
00:31:07and that's
00:31:07if you think
00:31:08of how Celtic
00:31:10have changed
00:31:10in the last
00:31:1120 years
00:31:11of how the
00:31:12cultural landscape
00:31:13has changed
00:31:13across the land
00:31:14across the last
00:31:15two decades
00:31:16where you have
00:31:17social media
00:31:18and everything
00:31:18is amplified
00:31:19it's a particularly
00:31:21different game
00:31:22almost
00:31:23dressing rooms
00:31:23are different
00:31:24cultures
00:31:25different
00:31:26the message
00:31:27remains
00:31:28I did wonder
00:31:30on Wednesday
00:31:31night
00:31:32at 4-0
00:31:34in the full time
00:31:35whistle goings
00:31:35and the players
00:31:36do the lap
00:31:37of honour
00:31:38and they walk
00:31:38round and I saw
00:31:39Martin meeting
00:31:41them all coming
00:31:41off the pitch
00:31:42and I saw him
00:31:43speaking to a
00:31:44couple of the
00:31:44players
00:31:44and you're
00:31:45just thinking
00:31:45I wonder
00:31:46what he makes
00:31:47of this
00:31:48a 4-0 win
00:31:50a routine win
00:31:51over Falkirk
00:31:52midweek
00:31:52and there's
00:31:53a wee
00:31:53parade around
00:31:55the pitch
00:31:55and you think
00:31:55I wonder
00:31:56what a manager
00:31:57of O'Neill
00:31:57stature makes
00:31:58of that
00:31:59his teams
00:32:00would have
00:32:00done that
00:32:00on the back
00:32:01of winning
00:32:01big games
00:32:02and big
00:32:03performances
00:32:03he was nervous
00:32:04before it
00:32:05and he looked
00:32:06at it
00:32:06and had been
00:32:06happy to get
00:32:07the win
00:32:07he still got
00:32:08the buzz
00:32:08Danny Rule
00:32:09still got the buzz
00:32:10because he was
00:32:10over at the
00:32:11Rangers fans
00:32:11as well
00:32:12funnily enough
00:32:13just as we move
00:32:14on to the other
00:32:14semi-final
00:32:15but a last
00:32:15little point
00:32:16and this is
00:32:18probably relevant
00:32:18if he does get
00:32:19the job to the
00:32:20summer because
00:32:20hopefully we might
00:32:22get back in then
00:32:23to have a go at him
00:32:24because I pick
00:32:25he likes one of us
00:32:26I pick my daughter
00:32:31up from school
00:32:32and she gets
00:32:32into the car
00:32:33and she says
00:32:34Martin O'Neill's
00:32:35a Celtic manager
00:32:36dad
00:32:36and I went
00:32:36yep
00:32:37he's interim
00:32:38Celtic manager
00:32:39she says
00:32:39does that mean
00:32:40he's not going
00:32:40to be your
00:32:41friend anymore
00:32:41I thought
00:32:44well I never
00:32:45thought of it
00:32:45that way
00:32:45but as soon
00:32:46as he sees
00:32:47my
00:32:47you've had
00:32:47your moments
00:32:49absolutely
00:32:50yeah
00:32:51I don't think
00:32:53I'll be picking
00:32:53fights
00:32:54at least
00:32:54neither
00:32:54you or I
00:32:55look 12
00:32:56so we might
00:32:57yeah I know
00:32:58Ali is alluding
00:32:59to the fact
00:33:00that somebody
00:33:00tried to have
00:33:01a wee dig
00:33:02at him
00:33:02and he was
00:33:02looking rather
00:33:03young
00:33:03and Martin
00:33:04old
00:33:05and long
00:33:06in the tooth
00:33:07just leathered
00:33:07him out
00:33:08into left field
00:33:08but I'm sure
00:33:10he'll do that
00:33:11when he sees
00:33:11my face
00:33:12on Sunday
00:33:13in the
00:33:14Hamden
00:33:14auditorium
00:33:15after the game
00:33:16for the
00:33:17manager's
00:33:17interviews
00:33:18anyway we've
00:33:19called it
00:33:19give us your
00:33:19thoughts
00:33:20the other
00:33:21one which is
00:33:21a great one
00:33:22for me
00:33:22is Motherwell
00:33:23against St
00:33:23Mirren
00:33:24because there's
00:33:24nothing better
00:33:25than two
00:33:26managers who
00:33:26know you're
00:33:27not playing
00:33:28Celtic or
00:33:28Rangers
00:33:29and you've
00:33:29got a chance
00:33:30to book a
00:33:30place in the
00:33:31final
00:33:32and suddenly
00:33:32it's Stephen
00:33:33Robinson
00:33:33who obviously
00:33:35has great
00:33:35memories of
00:33:36Motherwell
00:33:36in cup
00:33:37competitions
00:33:38maybe didn't
00:33:39turn out the
00:33:39way he wanted
00:33:40and Jens
00:33:41Berthel
00:33:42Asgau
00:33:42who's getting
00:33:43rave reviews
00:33:44for the
00:33:45footballer
00:33:45playing
00:33:45maybe not the
00:33:46results that
00:33:47we're looking
00:33:47for
00:33:47they've turned
00:33:48that round a
00:33:49wee bit
00:33:49they are now
00:33:50winning games
00:33:51they are playing
00:33:52I would say
00:33:52of the two
00:33:53teams the
00:33:53better are the
00:33:54football
00:33:54but that's
00:33:55not necessarily
00:33:56going to win
00:33:56you the game
00:33:57I just think
00:33:58St Mirren
00:33:58have got a
00:33:59bit of
00:33:59fight about
00:33:59them
00:34:00they've got
00:34:00a bit of
00:34:00presence
00:34:01free kicks
00:34:03corners are
00:34:04always a threat
00:34:05I think the
00:34:06physicality of
00:34:06that team
00:34:07might just
00:34:08overpower
00:34:09Motherwell
00:34:10it is a big
00:34:11park as
00:34:11Tam said
00:34:12the way they
00:34:14play will
00:34:14suit Motherwell
00:34:15I've just
00:34:16got a wee
00:34:16feeling
00:34:17maybe I'm
00:34:19just being
00:34:19soft here
00:34:20I think
00:34:20St Mirren
00:34:21have had a
00:34:21lot of
00:34:22things happened
00:34:23to them
00:34:23this year
00:34:24and I think
00:34:24they're due
00:34:25a wee rub
00:34:25of the green
00:34:26and I'd like
00:34:26to see them
00:34:27in the final
00:34:27you'd like to
00:34:28see them
00:34:28in the final
00:34:29isn't it
00:34:30amazing
00:34:30isn't it
00:34:32amazing
00:34:32that we
00:34:33we've been
00:34:34discussing Celtic
00:34:35and Rangers
00:34:36for about
00:34:3629 minutes
00:34:37and we
00:34:38did drag an
00:34:38opinion out
00:34:39of them
00:34:39and suddenly
00:34:40he's offered
00:34:40it in the
00:34:41first minute
00:34:41we haven't
00:34:41even started
00:34:42to talk
00:34:42about Motherwell
00:34:43or St Mirren
00:34:44the one thing
00:34:45that I can
00:34:46tell you
00:34:46though is
00:34:47that our
00:34:48reporters
00:34:49Kerry and
00:34:49Cara will
00:34:50be covering
00:34:50that game
00:34:51for us
00:34:51and hoping
00:34:53to go out
00:34:53for Halloween
00:34:54but
00:34:54not according
00:34:55to Jens Berthel
00:34:56Asgau
00:34:57because he's
00:34:57getting ready
00:34:58for the long
00:34:58haul in this
00:34:59one
00:34:59rhythm
00:35:00leading into
00:35:01the game
00:35:01will be the
00:35:02same
00:35:02and
00:35:04I think
00:35:05that's important
00:35:06because
00:35:07you do
00:35:08you try
00:35:09and make
00:35:09a rhythm
00:35:10and a
00:35:10schedule
00:35:11that
00:35:12gives you
00:35:13the perfect
00:35:13preparation
00:35:14to be able
00:35:15to perform
00:35:16at any game
00:35:16the only thing
00:35:17that we have
00:35:18done a little
00:35:18bit different
00:35:19is that we
00:35:19have
00:35:19trained a little
00:35:21bit more
00:35:21penalties lately
00:35:22and tried to
00:35:23incorporate
00:35:24in the
00:35:25small sided
00:35:26games
00:35:26and so
00:35:27it has
00:35:28been given
00:35:29an edge
00:35:29of competitiveness
00:35:31and also
00:35:33with a little
00:35:33bit of
00:35:33heart rate up
00:35:34when we
00:35:34take the
00:35:36penalties
00:35:36Well this is
00:35:38going to be
00:35:38really intriguing
00:35:39to see who
00:35:39he picks
00:35:40because
00:35:41when he was
00:35:42looking at
00:35:42his side
00:35:43and he was
00:35:43picking
00:35:43suddenly
00:35:44Stephen O'Donnell
00:35:45had dropped
00:35:45to the bench
00:35:46Yeah but
00:35:48now I
00:35:49think
00:35:49having watched
00:35:50Motherwell
00:35:51and the way
00:35:51they play
00:35:52I think
00:35:53Stephen O'Donnell
00:35:54is the best
00:35:54option on the
00:35:55right hand side
00:35:56I think he gets
00:35:57forward
00:35:57I think his
00:35:58crossing into
00:35:58the box
00:35:59is better
00:36:00I think his
00:36:00passing into
00:36:02the midfield
00:36:02is crisper
00:36:04and sharper
00:36:04and I don't
00:36:05know why
00:36:06he doesn't
00:36:06fancy him
00:36:07as much
00:36:07as he should
00:36:08I just think
00:36:09Motherwell
00:36:09have got plenty
00:36:10options now
00:36:10Peter
00:36:11he rotated
00:36:12the team
00:36:12the other
00:36:12night
00:36:12I think
00:36:12they left
00:36:13three or
00:36:13four out
00:36:13probably with
00:36:14a view
00:36:15of this
00:36:15game
00:36:15at the
00:36:15weekend
00:36:16but
00:36:16it's really
00:36:17a fascinating
00:36:18clash of
00:36:18styles
00:36:19I think
00:36:19I think
00:36:19Ruffey's
00:36:20right
00:36:20St Myrna
00:36:21I'm loath
00:36:22to say
00:36:22they do
00:36:23play good
00:36:23football
00:36:24as well
00:36:24but
00:36:24they're
00:36:25adept at
00:36:25getting
00:36:25into the
00:36:26front
00:36:26too
00:36:26and
00:36:26getting
00:36:26a ball
00:36:27in
00:36:27behind
00:36:27and
00:36:27just
00:36:27squeezing
00:36:28the
00:36:28game
00:36:28and
00:36:28playing
00:36:29the other
00:36:29team's
00:36:29half
00:36:29which is
00:36:30fine
00:36:30nothing
00:36:30wrong
00:36:30with
00:36:30that
00:36:31it's
00:36:31been
00:36:31really
00:36:31successful
00:36:32for
00:36:32Steven
00:36:32Robinson
00:36:33Motherwell
00:36:33will try
00:36:34and play
00:36:34expansive
00:36:35big pitch
00:36:35they'll make
00:36:36the pitch
00:36:36as big
00:36:37as they
00:36:37can
00:36:37and they'll
00:36:38try and
00:36:38play
00:36:38through
00:36:38so it's
00:36:40a real
00:36:40fascinating
00:36:41game
00:36:41for me
00:36:41Motherwell
00:36:43two wins
00:36:44in the trot
00:36:44and I think
00:36:46that's a real
00:36:46boost for them
00:36:47because people
00:36:47were starting
00:36:48to ask
00:36:48questions
00:36:48have they
00:36:49got any
00:36:51substance
00:36:51about them
00:36:51so I'm
00:36:53going to go
00:36:53for Motherwell
00:36:54to nick this
00:36:54I think
00:36:54Motherwell
00:36:55have got
00:36:55better
00:36:55players
00:36:56and I
00:36:57think
00:36:57they'll
00:36:57nick it
00:36:582-1
00:36:58Interestingly
00:36:59enough
00:37:00when you
00:37:00look at
00:37:01St Mirren
00:37:01and I
00:37:01think
00:37:02some of
00:37:04the observations
00:37:05and criticism
00:37:06and I don't
00:37:06know where
00:37:06it's coming
00:37:07from
00:37:07are there
00:37:08members of
00:37:08the press
00:37:09who suddenly
00:37:10suggested
00:37:11that St Mirren
00:37:13the only
00:37:13thing they've
00:37:14got going
00:37:14for them
00:37:15is physicality
00:37:16I think
00:37:16it was Chris
00:37:17Sutton
00:37:17was the only
00:37:17one that
00:37:17said it
00:37:18wasn't it
00:37:18I can think
00:37:19he said
00:37:20he wouldn't
00:37:20go and
00:37:20watch them
00:37:21he wouldn't
00:37:21go and
00:37:22watch
00:37:22I think
00:37:23that's
00:37:24unfair
00:37:24I think
00:37:25there was
00:37:26something said
00:37:27in one of
00:37:27the podcasts
00:37:28too
00:37:28I think
00:37:29it's
00:37:29unfair
00:37:29I think
00:37:30it does
00:37:30them a
00:37:30disservice
00:37:31they're more
00:37:32than just
00:37:32a big
00:37:33physical team
00:37:34and I think
00:37:34that's
00:37:35illustrated by
00:37:36the fact
00:37:36that they've
00:37:37finished top
00:37:37six across
00:37:38three successive
00:37:39seasons
00:37:39I don't think
00:37:40you manage
00:37:40to do that
00:37:41purely on
00:37:42being physical
00:37:43and being
00:37:45difficult to
00:37:45beat
00:37:46I think
00:37:46they are
00:37:47well organised
00:37:48I think
00:37:49they're well
00:37:50set up
00:37:51but I think
00:37:51they have
00:37:51players of
00:37:52some craft
00:37:53in there
00:37:54too
00:37:54I think
00:37:55I actually
00:37:56quite enjoy
00:37:57watching
00:37:57St Mirren
00:37:58I know
00:37:58there's this
00:37:59perception
00:37:59that it's
00:38:00just fairly
00:38:01rudimentary
00:38:03football
00:38:03I would
00:38:03disagree
00:38:04with it
00:38:04and I
00:38:05actually
00:38:05think
00:38:06that
00:38:06St Mirren
00:38:06will prevail
00:38:07at Hamden
00:38:08oh
00:38:08we've got
00:38:09a brilliant
00:38:09differing
00:38:10opinion
00:38:10on this
00:38:11one
00:38:11I mean
00:38:11I'm looking
00:38:12at their
00:38:12team
00:38:12Marcus Fraser
00:38:14is experienced
00:38:14he's a
00:38:15no-nonsense
00:38:15I like him
00:38:16Richard King
00:38:17and then
00:38:18Freckleton
00:38:18has been
00:38:19really good
00:38:21Freckleton's a
00:38:21doubt
00:38:21he's injured
00:38:22on Wednesday
00:38:23so he's
00:38:23a huge
00:38:24question mark
00:38:24over whether
00:38:25or not
00:38:25he's going
00:38:25to play
00:38:25but he's
00:38:26done well
00:38:26and you've
00:38:27got a
00:38:27middle five
00:38:28that played
00:38:28which was
00:38:29Declan
00:38:30John
00:38:30sweet left
00:38:31foot
00:38:31O'Hara
00:38:32I like
00:38:33Bacchus
00:38:34has just
00:38:34come back
00:38:35in as if
00:38:35he's never
00:38:35been away
00:38:36and the
00:38:38star of
00:38:38the show
00:38:39for me
00:38:39is Phillips
00:38:40he works
00:38:41his socks
00:38:42off Phillips
00:38:42he never
00:38:43stops
00:38:44the only
00:38:45one
00:38:45and obviously
00:38:46McManaman
00:38:46then I
00:38:47think
00:38:48Mandarin
00:38:48and Ndoulou
00:38:50up front
00:38:51I think the
00:38:51one that he
00:38:52would probably
00:38:53be raging
00:38:55that's not
00:38:55there is
00:38:56Gogic
00:38:56Gogic is
00:38:58free to
00:38:59play
00:38:59Gogic is
00:39:00free to
00:39:01play
00:39:01he's not
00:39:02I think
00:39:03it's not
00:39:03competition
00:39:04it's the
00:39:05two league
00:39:05games
00:39:06Gogic
00:39:07can play
00:39:08I think
00:39:09he's
00:39:10massive
00:39:10he's
00:39:11huge
00:39:12just in
00:39:12terms of
00:39:13being in
00:39:13that back
00:39:14three
00:39:14and sweeping
00:39:15things up
00:39:16he is a
00:39:17physical player
00:39:18I think his
00:39:19physicality
00:39:20he can play
00:39:21a bit
00:39:21he's another
00:39:23one I think
00:39:23you just know
00:39:24exactly what
00:39:25you're going to
00:39:25get in terms
00:39:26of rolling up
00:39:26his sleeves
00:39:27and just
00:39:27getting stuck
00:39:28in it
00:39:28and trying
00:39:29to set
00:39:29a particular
00:39:30kind of
00:39:30tone
00:39:31Subman
00:39:32play a lot
00:39:33of good
00:39:33football
00:39:33but it's
00:39:34even when
00:39:35they go
00:39:35route one
00:39:35very difficult
00:39:37to deal
00:39:37with
00:39:37they're really
00:39:38good at it
00:39:39when the
00:39:39goalkeeper
00:39:39launches it
00:39:40up
00:39:40I know
00:39:43a lot of
00:39:44the teams
00:39:44defensive wise
00:39:45can't handle
00:39:46it so
00:39:46what they're
00:39:47doing is
00:39:48they're just
00:39:48trying to get
00:39:48a wee
00:39:48nick
00:39:49and then
00:39:49the Phillips
00:39:50and all
00:39:50that
00:39:50run about
00:39:51them
00:39:51they're
00:39:52creating
00:39:52should have
00:39:52been
00:39:52done in
00:39:55by that
00:39:55decision
00:39:56but I was
00:39:57just about
00:39:57to say
00:39:57I was
00:39:58looking at
00:39:58their
00:39:58bench
00:39:58to see
00:39:58who
00:39:59come on
00:39:59and the
00:40:00two players
00:40:00that I
00:40:00like
00:40:01who
00:40:01occupy
00:40:02you're
00:40:02talking
00:40:02about
00:40:02people
00:40:03like
00:40:03you're
00:40:03wondering
00:40:04if
00:40:04Johnny
00:40:04Kenny
00:40:04is the
00:40:05right
00:40:05man
00:40:05to play
00:40:05up
00:40:06front
00:40:06centre
00:40:08forwards
00:40:08have to
00:40:09occupy
00:40:10and worry
00:40:11central
00:40:12defenders
00:40:12and full
00:40:13backs
00:40:13by making
00:40:14runs
00:40:14that they
00:40:14don't
00:40:15want to
00:40:15track
00:40:15is that
00:40:16fair
00:40:16here's what
00:40:37Stephen
00:40:37Robinson
00:40:37had to
00:40:38say
00:40:38about
00:40:38some
00:40:38of
00:40:38the
00:40:38criticism
00:40:39the
00:40:39people
00:40:39that
00:40:39talk
00:40:40like
00:40:40I've
00:40:40watched
00:40:40two
00:40:41games
00:40:41this
00:40:41season
00:40:41we're
00:40:43a
00:40:43very
00:40:43good
00:40:43football
00:40:43team
00:40:44as far
00:40:45as it
00:40:46were
00:40:46I
00:40:46don't
00:40:46think
00:40:46there's
00:40:46any
00:40:46rules
00:40:47in
00:40:47football
00:40:47that
00:40:47you're
00:40:47allowed
00:40:47to
00:40:48play
00:40:48people
00:40:48over
00:40:48six
00:40:48foot
00:40:49I've
00:40:49not
00:40:49been
00:40:49told
00:40:50that
00:40:50yet
00:40:50our
00:40:51players
00:40:51that
00:40:51are
00:40:52over
00:40:52six
00:40:52foot
00:40:52are
00:40:54really
00:40:54poor
00:40:54in
00:40:54the
00:40:54air
00:40:55and
00:40:55I
00:40:55wouldn't
00:40:55call
00:40:55them
00:40:55physical
00:40:56it
00:40:56actually
00:40:56makes
00:40:56me
00:40:56laugh
00:40:57when
00:40:57I
00:40:57hear
00:40:57that
00:40:57they're
00:40:58very
00:40:58good
00:40:58footballers
00:40:59very
00:40:59good
00:40:59technically
00:40:59so listen
00:41:01people are
00:41:01entitled
00:41:01to that
00:41:02when you
00:41:02beat
00:41:02teams
00:41:03when you
00:41:03cause
00:41:03teams
00:41:03problems
00:41:04as
00:41:04little
00:41:04St
00:41:05Murren
00:41:05there
00:41:05has to
00:41:05be a
00:41:06reason
00:41:06you
00:41:06can't
00:41:06just
00:41:06be
00:41:07a
00:41:07good
00:41:07team
00:41:07yeah
00:41:08I
00:41:08think
00:41:09he
00:41:09makes
00:41:09a
00:41:09great
00:41:09point
00:41:09and
00:41:10he's
00:41:10been
00:41:10in
00:41:10here
00:41:10on
00:41:10countless
00:41:11occasions
00:41:11mentioning
00:41:13how difficult
00:41:14the job
00:41:14is for
00:41:15provincial
00:41:15clubs
00:41:16trying to
00:41:16get
00:41:16results
00:41:17and the
00:41:17other
00:41:18thing
00:41:18about
00:41:18it
00:41:18there
00:41:21are
00:41:21many
00:41:21ways
00:41:21to
00:41:21win
00:41:21a
00:41:22game
00:41:22and
00:41:22it's
00:41:22not
00:41:22all
00:41:23about
00:41:23ticca-tacca
00:41:24they mix
00:41:26it up
00:41:26they're
00:41:26quite happy
00:41:27to build
00:41:27up for
00:41:28the
00:41:28back
00:41:28get
00:41:28the
00:41:28ball
00:41:29wide
00:41:29throw
00:41:29quality
00:41:30balls
00:41:30in
00:41:30there
00:41:30but
00:41:31if
00:41:31that's
00:41:31not
00:41:31working
00:41:32and
00:41:32they
00:41:32come up
00:41:32against
00:41:33a team
00:41:33who
00:41:33don't
00:41:33like
00:41:34defending
00:41:34against
00:41:35two
00:41:35big
00:41:35physical
00:41:36guys
00:41:36a lot
00:41:37of them
00:41:37if you
00:41:38see
00:41:38any
00:41:39opportunity
00:41:40they get
00:41:41they want
00:41:41it in
00:41:41the box
00:41:42they want
00:41:42it to be
00:41:42a battle
00:41:43they want
00:41:43it to be
00:41:43a fight
00:41:44pick up
00:41:44the scraps
00:41:45and that's
00:41:46what they're
00:41:46good at
00:41:47and I
00:41:47mean
00:41:47Tam will know
00:41:48better than
00:41:48me
00:41:48being a
00:41:49striker
00:41:49at
00:41:49Hamden
00:41:50and you're
00:41:57easier to
00:41:58come off
00:41:58the bench
00:41:58as well
00:41:59and make
00:42:00an impact
00:42:00it is
00:42:0160-70
00:42:03minutes of
00:42:04Hamden
00:42:04would have
00:42:04been far
00:42:05too long
00:42:06for me
00:42:06hard going
00:42:06listen give
00:42:08us your
00:42:08thoughts on
00:42:08it
00:42:09Tam what
00:42:09have you
00:42:09said
00:42:09I'm going
00:42:10to go
00:42:10for 2-1
00:42:11to Motherwell
00:42:112-1
00:42:13Motherwell
00:42:132-1

00:42:19as well
00:42:19sorry
00:42:20you alright
00:42:20Ali
00:42:20it's so
00:42:21warm
00:42:22every time
00:42:24I get
00:42:25a fight
00:42:25just out of
00:42:26curiosity
00:42:26if you're
00:42:27warm
00:42:27he is
00:42:28sweating
00:42:28like a
00:42:29madman
00:42:29he's
00:42:30given
00:42:30three
00:42:30coats
00:42:31on
00:42:31one of
00:42:32the
00:42:32thickest
00:42:32shirts
00:42:32I've
00:42:33ever
00:42:33seen
00:42:33and a
00:42:34tie

00:42:35gone

00:42:42that
00:42:42bit between
00:42:43their teeth
00:42:43good football
00:42:45great to
00:42:45watch
00:42:46I accept
00:42:46I think
00:42:47a
00:42:47brilliant
00:42:48game
00:42:48yeah
00:42:49really good
00:42:49I think
00:42:50the only
00:42:51downside
00:42:52is the
00:42:52attendance
00:42:53well wait
00:42:54a minute
00:42:548,500
00:42:56well I
00:42:57hope
00:42:57they've
00:42:57structured
00:42:58the cameras
00:42:59just show
00:42:59the supporters
00:43:00rather than
00:43:01the empty
00:43:01spaces
00:43:02you can
00:43:04put them
00:43:05into the
00:43:05far away
00:43:06end
00:43:06and just
00:43:06Motherwell
00:43:08will have
00:43:08only
00:43:08sell
00:43:088
00:43:09what do
00:43:13you call
00:43:13it
00:43:13sponsors
00:43:13there's
00:43:14all these
00:43:14people
00:43:15that get
00:43:15freebies
00:43:15they don't
00:43:17come out
00:43:17until 15
00:43:18minutes
00:43:18into the
00:43:19game
00:43:19well you
00:43:20would know
00:43:20because you've
00:43:21never been
00:43:21to a game
00:43:21actually
00:43:22to watch
00:43:2290 minutes
00:43:23usually
00:43:24you've got
00:43:25a wee bit
00:43:25of salary
00:43:25criticising
00:43:26both teams
00:43:27supports
00:43:27then
00:43:27Motherwell
00:43:28thinking
00:43:28should have
00:43:28took
00:43:28more
00:43:30is that what
00:43:30you're saying
00:43:30Ruffy
00:43:30well you see
00:43:31teams like
00:43:32that get
00:43:32maybe 15
00:43:3320,000
00:43:34but I think
00:43:358,000 is
00:43:36poor
00:43:36you think so
00:43:37yeah
00:43:37and you see
00:43:38when Falkert
00:43:39and teams
00:43:39like that
00:43:40get there
00:43:40they come
00:43:40for it
00:43:41everywhere
00:43:41what's your
00:43:42headline
00:43:42Peter
00:43:43that's the
00:43:43headline
00:43:44Ruffy
00:43:44slams
00:43:45both clubs
00:43:46sets of
00:43:46fans for
00:43:47not backing
00:43:48their team
00:43:48simple as
00:43:49that and
00:43:50to be fair
00:43:51Ruffy
00:43:51no more gigs
00:43:52than Motherwell
00:43:52Paisley
00:43:53don't let
00:43:55the joke
00:43:55up
00:43:55wait a minute
00:43:58I've got one
00:43:58coming up
00:43:59Motherwell
00:44:00have done
00:44:00their best
00:44:01to you
00:44:01I'm so glad
00:44:04that you
00:44:06mentioned that
00:44:07Ruffy because
00:44:08I would have
00:44:08hate to have
00:44:09had a headline
00:44:10with him
00:44:12sitting there
00:44:12chatting about
00:44:13it
00:44:13anyway
00:44:13give us your
00:44:14thoughts on it
00:44:15we've given you
00:44:16the prediction
00:44:16on Motherwell
00:44:17against St Mirren
00:44:18and Celtic
00:44:19against Rangers
00:44:20who's going to
00:44:20be in the
00:44:21Hampden
00:44:21final for the
00:44:22Premier Sports
00:44:23Cup final
00:44:23we want to
00:44:24know what
00:44:25you think
00:44:26about it
00:44:26all and
00:44:27of course
00:44:27we've given
00:44:28you the
00:44:28latest odds
00:44:29on the
00:44:30Celtic
00:44:30manager
00:44:30I wonder
00:44:31if there'll
00:44:31be any
00:44:32continued
00:44:32protests
00:44:33as any
00:44:33of the
00:44:33board
00:44:34walk in
00:44:35at
00:44:35Hampden
00:44:36for the
00:44:37Celtic
00:44:38Rangers
00:44:38or will
00:44:39this be
00:44:39just one
00:44:40of those
00:44:40games
00:44:40where they're
00:44:41concentrating
00:44:41on such a
00:44:43huge affair
00:44:43between Glasgow's
00:44:44two big clubs
00:44:45ok let's not
00:44:47forget also
00:44:47as well as
00:44:48Saturday and
00:44:49Sunday
00:44:50here are the
00:44:50fixtures
00:44:51with the
00:44:52Scottish
00:44:53Premiership
00:44:53involved as
00:44:54well
00:44:55Falkirk
00:44:55against
00:44:56Kilmarnock
00:44:56Harps
00:44:57against
00:44:57Dundee
00:44:57and Livingston
00:44:59against
00:44:59Hibernian
00:45:00and with that
00:45:01in mind
00:45:02Harps have the
00:45:02chance to go
00:45:039 points
00:45:04clear Ali
00:45:04huge opportunity
00:45:06for them
00:45:07I think
00:45:07once you can
00:45:08bank those
00:45:09points and
00:45:10open up that
00:45:11cushion
00:45:11it certainly
00:45:13just continues
00:45:14a bit of
00:45:15momentum
00:45:15there was a
00:45:16degree of
00:45:17fortitude
00:45:18that they get
00:45:18out of
00:45:18Paisley
00:45:19with a
00:45:20point on
00:45:20Wednesday night
00:45:21I think
00:45:22they would
00:45:23accept that
00:45:24did you see
00:45:25good play
00:45:25did you see
00:45:26why they're
00:45:27up there
00:45:27at the top
00:45:27I think
00:45:28you can see
00:45:29why they're
00:45:29up there
00:45:29at the top
00:45:30I think
00:45:30there's been
00:45:31a lot of
00:45:32superlatives
00:45:32about the
00:45:33Hearts team
00:45:34that maybe
00:45:35over exaggerate
00:45:37just where
00:45:38they are
00:45:38but what
00:45:39you cannot
00:45:39fudge
00:45:40on any
00:45:41level
00:45:41is the
00:45:42momentum
00:45:42that they've
00:45:43enjoyed
00:45:43they've
00:45:45banked the
00:45:45points
00:45:46they're there
00:45:46and it
00:45:47becomes a
00:45:47very difficult
00:45:48gap
00:45:49to draw in
00:45:50to pull in
00:45:51I'll be
00:45:52interested to
00:45:52see just how
00:45:53they respond
00:45:53to
00:45:54I'm not
00:45:56sure if they
00:45:56would see
00:45:57a draw at
00:45:58St.
00:45:58Minnan
00:45:58entirely
00:45:59as an
00:46:00adverse result
00:46:01but it'll be
00:46:01interesting to
00:46:02see just how
00:46:02they respond
00:46:03to it
00:46:03I would
00:46:04expect
00:46:04that they
00:46:04go out
00:46:05and beat
00:46:05Dundee
00:46:06I think
00:46:06they'll take
00:46:06all three
00:46:07points
00:46:08and that
00:46:09whatever way
00:46:10you look at
00:46:10it that is
00:46:11a significant
00:46:12gap to have
00:46:13at the top
00:46:13of the table
00:46:14yeah nine
00:46:15points is
00:46:15good going
00:46:16Ruffy and
00:46:17I'm just
00:46:17looking here
00:46:18and this is
00:46:19the significant
00:46:19thing you
00:46:20know regardless
00:46:21of some of
00:46:21the back page
00:46:22headlines
00:46:22you've got
00:46:23Dundee then
00:46:23they've got
00:46:24Dundee United
00:46:24so they've
00:46:24got two home
00:46:25games and
00:46:26then they're
00:46:27away to
00:46:27Aberdeen
00:46:27Motherwell
00:46:28and Kilmarnock
00:46:29on the
00:46:307th of
00:46:30December
00:46:31they've got
00:46:31Celtic at
00:46:32Celtic Park
00:46:32so that's
00:46:33where suddenly
00:46:34you think
00:46:35okay if
00:46:36they are
00:46:36real title
00:46:37contenders
00:46:38they've got
00:46:39to go there
00:46:40and come
00:46:40away with
00:46:40something
00:46:41just to
00:46:42either maintain
00:46:42an advantage
00:46:43if they had
00:46:43one
00:46:44and then of
00:46:45course they've
00:46:45got two home
00:46:46games against
00:46:46St Mirren
00:46:47Rangers
00:46:47and then out
00:46:49of the end
00:46:49of 2025
00:46:50you've got
00:46:51the Edinburgh
00:46:51Derby
00:46:52at Easter
00:46:53Road
00:46:53and then
00:46:53away to
00:46:54Falkert
00:46:54now the
00:46:55reason I'm
00:46:55saying that
00:46:56is because
00:46:56depending on
00:46:58what you come
00:46:58out of
00:46:59with Celtic
00:46:59Rangers
00:47:00and then
00:47:01Hibs
00:47:02once you
00:47:03get to
00:47:03January
00:47:04if they
00:47:05had
00:47:07minimum
00:47:08six points
00:47:09of an
00:47:09advantage
00:47:09still in
00:47:10January
00:47:10which is
00:47:10a big
00:47:11ask
00:47:11then
00:47:12the
00:47:13Harps
00:47:13board
00:47:13will
00:47:14back
00:47:14him
00:47:14it
00:47:15doesn't
00:47:15matter
00:47:15what
00:47:15you were
00:47:16talking
00:47:16about
00:47:16everybody's
00:47:17talking
00:47:17about
00:47:17with
00:47:17Tony
00:47:17Bloom
00:47:18they're
00:47:18well
00:47:18aware
00:47:19of the
00:47:19financial
00:47:19fair play
00:47:20they've
00:47:21got money
00:47:21to give
00:47:21him
00:47:22I think
00:47:23we always
00:47:23speak about
00:47:23that
00:47:24Christmas
00:47:24period
00:47:24there's
00:47:25so many
00:47:25games
00:47:25I think
00:47:26there's
00:47:26now 11
00:47:26or 12
00:47:27games
00:47:27from now
00:47:27until
00:47:28the second
00:47:28or third
00:47:29of January
00:47:29so
00:47:29as I
00:47:30said
00:47:31if
00:47:31Hearts
00:47:31can still
00:47:31be there
00:47:32I think
00:47:33the test
00:47:33for Hearts
00:47:34will be
00:47:34when they
00:47:35lose their
00:47:35first game
00:47:35I think
00:47:36you've seen
00:47:36that by
00:47:37Aberdeen
00:47:37last season
00:47:37Peter
00:47:38I think
00:47:38when you're
00:47:38going a
00:47:39long run
00:47:39unbeaten
00:47:40and then
00:47:40you lose
00:47:41a game
00:47:41I think
00:47:42you actually
00:47:42see teams
00:47:43maybe losing
00:47:43a couple
00:47:43because they
00:47:44lose that
00:47:45confidence
00:47:45where they
00:47:46think they're
00:47:46untouchable
00:47:47unbeatable
00:47:47so I think
00:47:48when Hearts
00:47:48lose their
00:47:49first game
00:47:49can they
00:47:50react to that
00:47:50can they
00:47:51win the
00:47:51next couple
00:47:51and just
00:47:52forget about
00:47:52it
00:47:53or they
00:47:53let it
00:47:53affect
00:47:54them
00:47:54so
00:47:54I would
00:47:55expect
00:47:55them to
00:47:55beat
00:47:55Dundee
00:47:56at home
00:47:56at the
00:47:56weekend
00:47:56and
00:47:57that game
00:47:58Sunday
00:47:58the 7th
00:47:59of December
00:47:59as I said
00:48:00if Hearts
00:48:00are still
00:48:008-9 points
00:48:02ahead of Celtic
00:48:03and they go
00:48:04there and get
00:48:04a draw
00:48:04people will
00:48:05go
00:48:05maybe we'll
00:48:06be taking
00:48:07the heart
00:48:07series
00:48:07now
00:48:07people are
00:48:09taking the
00:48:09heart
00:48:09series
00:48:09but
00:48:10you're right
00:48:11I think
00:48:11if they go
00:48:11to Celtic
00:48:12part and
00:48:12don't get
00:48:12beat
00:48:12then you
00:48:13think
00:48:13they're
00:48:14genuine
00:48:14could topple
00:48:15Celtic
00:48:15this season
00:48:16January
00:48:16will be
00:48:17key
00:48:17if you're
00:48:18still in
00:48:18a very
00:48:18similar
00:48:18position
00:48:19in January
00:48:20after you've
00:48:21pretty much
00:48:21played
00:48:21everyone
00:48:22twice
00:48:23you've
00:48:24got to
00:48:24start
00:48:24saying
00:48:25this
00:48:25you can't
00:48:26take
00:48:26anything
00:48:26away
00:48:26from
00:48:26what
00:48:27they've
00:48:27done
00:48:27this
00:48:28year
00:48:28they have
00:48:28been
00:48:28the team
00:48:29of the
00:48:29year
00:48:29but they
00:48:30are
00:48:30vulnerable
00:48:31and they
00:48:31showed
00:48:31that at
00:48:32St Mern
00:48:32they should
00:48:33have been
00:48:33beat 3-1
00:48:34that is a
00:48:35big score
00:48:36line
00:48:36I can't wait
00:48:37till Lily
00:48:37Colum
00:48:38comes out
00:48:38and discusses
00:48:39that one
00:48:39it's also
00:48:40the mark
00:48:40of a good
00:48:41team
00:48:42to come
00:48:42away
00:48:43with
00:48:43something
00:48:43when
00:48:43you
00:48:43shouldn't
00:48:44be
00:48:44because
00:48:44they
00:48:44thought
00:48:46they
00:48:46got
00:48:46it
00:48:47as
00:48:47well
00:48:47I
00:48:47know
00:48:47they're
00:48:47going to
00:48:48back
00:48:48a
00:48:48manager
00:48:48in
00:48:49January
00:48:49it's
00:48:50just
00:48:50where
00:48:50they
00:48:50end
00:48:51up
00:48:51of course
00:48:51and the
00:48:52other
00:48:52aspect
00:48:52of it
00:48:53as
00:48:53well
00:48:53if
00:48:53they
00:48:53were
00:48:53genuinely
00:48:54heading
00:48:55into
00:48:552026
00:48:56with
00:48:57any
00:48:57sort
00:49:12fit
00:49:13than
00:49:13the
00:49:13one
00:49:13that
00:49:13you're
00:49:13wearing
00:49:14today
00:49:14I think
00:49:15the
00:49:15hearts
00:49:16which
00:49:16one
00:49:16would you
00:49:17prefer
00:49:17I've
00:49:17took the
00:49:17pressure
00:49:18off
00:49:18myself
00:49:18for this
00:49:18absolutely
00:49:19I think
00:49:20the
00:49:20hearts
00:49:20full strip
00:49:21is actually
00:49:22not bad
00:49:22they'll just
00:49:24go there's
00:49:25Tam
00:49:25where people
00:49:26are tuning
00:49:26in right
00:49:26now
00:49:27going
00:49:27who's
00:49:27the
00:49:28agent
00:49:28next
00:49:28to
00:49:28the
00:49:28host
00:49:29you know
00:49:29the worrying
00:49:30thing is
00:49:31he's had
00:49:31it on
00:49:31for four
00:49:31days
00:49:32which
00:49:35to be
00:49:36honest
00:49:36any
00:49:38school
00:49:38bride
00:49:38is
00:49:38nothing
00:49:39new
00:49:39for
00:49:39anybody
00:49:40it
00:49:40only
00:49:41suggests
00:49:41there
00:49:43needs
00:49:43to be
00:49:43more
00:49:43security
00:49:44at
00:49:44banks
00:49:44now
00:49:46listen
00:49:47there's
00:49:47a
00:49:47positive
00:49:48way
00:49:48to
00:49:48look
00:49:48at
00:49:48it
00:49:48and
00:49:48Derek
00:49:49McInnes
00:49:49has
00:49:49it
00:49:50we're
00:49:51going into
00:49:51November
00:49:51now
00:49:51unbeaten
00:49:52top of the
00:49:52league
00:49:53and if
00:49:53somebody
00:49:53told me
00:49:54that at the
00:49:54start of the
00:49:54season
00:49:55we'd be
00:49:55six points
00:49:56clear of
00:49:56Celtic
00:49:56after 10
00:49:58games
00:49:59we should
00:49:59have
00:49:59grabbed
00:49:59that
00:49:59so I
00:50:00think
00:50:00it's
00:50:00important
00:50:00for a
00:50:00bit
00:50:00of
00:50:01perspective
00:50:01players
00:50:01are a
00:50:02bit
00:50:02disappointed
00:50:02which
00:50:04is
00:50:04not a
00:50:05bad
00:50:05thing
00:50:05for them
00:50:06to be
00:50:11a
00:50:12more
00:50:12than
00:50:12decent
00:50:12point
00:50:12if we
00:50:13can win
00:50:13more
00:50:13games
00:50:13that
00:50:13yeah
00:50:15that's
00:50:16his way
00:50:16of
00:50:16looking
00:50:17at it
00:50:17and they're
00:50:17against
00:50:18Dundee
00:50:19second bottom
00:50:20without a
00:50:21winning five
00:50:21trips away
00:50:22from
00:50:22Dens Park
00:50:23the high
00:50:24of Celtic
00:50:26is now
00:50:27but a
00:50:27distant memory
00:50:28for them
00:50:29Stephen Presley
00:50:30knows this
00:50:31is going to
00:50:32be a long
00:50:33haul
00:50:33to finish
00:50:3411th
00:50:34I think
00:50:35if he's
00:50:36honest enough
00:50:36like
00:50:37John McGlynn
00:50:38is at
00:50:38Falkert
00:50:39the games
00:50:40that they'll
00:50:41have a
00:50:42successful
00:50:42season
00:50:42will be
00:50:43against
00:50:43the teams
00:50:43that are
00:50:44going to
00:50:44be in
00:50:45that bottom
00:50:45six
00:50:45if they can
00:50:47get anything
00:50:47out of any
00:50:48game
00:50:49a point
00:50:49away from
00:50:49home
00:50:50it's a
00:50:50bonus
00:50:51I just
00:50:51can't see
00:50:52the Dundee
00:50:52team away
00:50:53from home
00:50:53particularly
00:50:54being strong
00:50:55enough to
00:50:56withstand
00:50:57what hearts
00:50:57are going to
00:50:58hit on them
00:50:58with
00:50:58do you agree
00:51:00with me
00:51:01about Stephen
00:51:01Presley
00:51:01he's just
00:51:02got to
00:51:02try and
00:51:03finish
00:51:03I think
00:51:03he knows
00:51:03he knows
00:51:04that this
00:51:04is a
00:51:05really
00:51:05crucial
00:51:05year for
00:51:06him
00:51:06he's got
00:51:07to try
00:51:07and do
00:51:07something
00:51:08that they
00:51:08don't get
00:51:08relegated
00:51:09to give
00:51:10him a
00:51:10chance
00:51:11to get
00:51:11his
00:51:12more
00:51:12players
00:51:12in
00:51:13but
00:51:13they've
00:51:13shown
00:51:14at home
00:51:14that they
00:51:15can do
00:51:15it
00:51:15but it's
00:51:16a way
00:51:16from home
00:51:16I think
00:51:16they're
00:51:17vulnerable
00:51:17ok give us
00:51:18your prediction
00:51:182-0 hearts
00:51:193-0 hearts
00:51:213-1 hearts
00:51:22ok I'll go
00:51:232-0 the
00:51:23jambos
00:51:24Falkirk
00:51:25against
00:51:25Kilmarnock
00:51:26did you see
00:51:27anything from
00:51:28Falkirk
00:51:28that suggests
00:51:29that they
00:51:30still can
00:51:31take the
00:51:31positivity
00:51:32of recent
00:51:32results
00:51:33into a
00:51:33game against
00:51:34by the way
00:51:34Kilmarnock
00:51:35somebody asked
00:51:36us on
00:51:36Monday
00:51:37if Stuart
00:51:38Kettlewell
00:51:39in fact it
00:51:40wasn't
00:51:40Monday
00:51:41it was
00:51:41yesterday
00:51:41Cheryl
00:51:42a reporter
00:51:43was asking
00:51:44is he under
00:51:45pressure
00:51:45Stuart
00:51:46Kettlewell
00:51:46not yet
00:51:47I don't
00:51:49think he's
00:51:49under pressure
00:51:49just yet
00:51:50he had a
00:51:51fairly decent
00:51:52start to
00:51:53the season
00:51:53Falkirk
00:51:54won't be
00:51:55drawing anything
00:51:56any conclusions
00:51:57on Wednesday
00:51:58night's
00:51:58game
00:51:59it's almost
00:52:00a free hit
00:52:01no one
00:52:01anticipates
00:52:02that they
00:52:03go and
00:52:03take anything
00:52:04at Celtic
00:52:06Park
00:52:06it's not
00:52:06the games
00:52:07that are
00:52:07going to
00:52:07define
00:52:07their
00:52:08campaign
00:52:08these are
00:52:09the games
00:52:10that are
00:52:10playing at
00:52:11home
00:52:11making the
00:52:13most of
00:52:13home advantage
00:52:15and I
00:52:16suspect a draw
00:52:18I'm going to
00:52:19go for a
00:52:19share of the
00:52:20points tomorrow
00:52:20I think it will
00:52:21be one each
00:52:21Dundee
00:52:23Kilmarnock
00:52:25two wins
00:52:25and ten
00:52:26since he took
00:52:27charge
00:52:27yeah at the
00:52:29start it looked
00:52:30pretty impressive
00:52:30he was getting
00:52:31results here and
00:52:32there
00:52:33I just think
00:52:34the endeavour
00:52:34that Falkirk
00:52:35have got is
00:52:36really good
00:52:36I think the
00:52:37crowd get right
00:52:38behind them
00:52:39it's a great
00:52:39atmosphere in the
00:52:40stadium
00:52:41I think we saw
00:52:42last week
00:52:43the players have
00:52:44a will to keep
00:52:45winning
00:52:45and I think
00:52:46that will carry
00:52:47them through
00:52:47I think they
00:52:48will just edge
00:52:49this one
00:52:49Tom
00:52:50I'm going to
00:52:51go for Falkirk
00:52:51to win
00:52:52I think Falkirk
00:52:52are strong at
00:52:53home
00:52:53I think they
00:52:53play a lot
00:52:54of good football
00:52:55and I've still
00:52:57got that buzzer
00:52:57just coming up
00:52:58so I think
00:52:59they'll forget
00:52:59as Alison said
00:53:00just forget the
00:53:01other night
00:53:01and they'll get
00:53:01on meeting
00:53:02Saturday and I
00:53:02think they've
00:53:02got enough to
00:53:03beat
00:53:03every now
00:53:05and then
00:53:05we always
00:53:06say to you
00:53:07that we like
00:53:07your opinion
00:53:08we obviously
00:53:08don't mind
00:53:09if you
00:53:09leather us
00:53:10from time
00:53:10to time
00:53:11as long
00:53:11as you're
00:53:11not abusive
00:53:12or in any
00:53:13way straying
00:53:13into areas
00:53:14that we don't
00:53:15want to go
00:53:15down
00:53:16but Sidney
00:53:17but Sidney
00:53:17Devine
00:53:17not the real
00:53:18Sidney
00:53:18Devine
00:53:18but his
00:53:19moniker
00:53:19on YouTube
00:53:22has said
00:53:22sorry I made
00:53:23a typo
00:53:23brilliant from
00:53:24Tam
00:53:25he looks
00:53:25completely
00:53:26gormless
00:53:27without a
00:53:27costume
00:53:27but my
00:53:28goodness
00:53:28he looks
00:53:29like a
00:53:29complete
00:53:30gormless
00:53:30fool
00:53:31and a
00:53:31buffoon
00:53:32of a
00:53:32man
00:53:32dressed
00:53:32like
00:53:33that
00:53:33wow
00:53:33talk
00:53:34I mean
00:53:35honestly
00:53:35can you
00:53:36not just
00:53:36enter
00:53:37into this
00:53:37spirit
00:53:37I've got
00:53:38a thick
00:53:38skin
00:53:38well I was
00:53:39going to
00:53:39say to
00:53:39you
00:53:40and lots
00:53:40of thick
00:53:41makeup
00:53:41well I
00:53:42was going
00:53:43to say to
00:53:43you Tam
00:53:43when you
00:53:44walked into
00:53:45our staff
00:53:46room today
00:53:46the whole
00:53:47place just
00:53:47burst into
00:53:48fits of
00:53:48laughter
00:53:48and thought
00:53:49good on
00:53:49you
00:53:49it was
00:53:50absolutely
00:53:51I thought

00:53:52an effort
00:53:52Peter
00:53:52yeah
00:53:53absolutely
00:53:53I think
00:53:54it's
00:53:54absolutely
00:53:55fantastic
00:53:55at one
00:53:56point I
00:53:58thought
00:53:58no I'm
00:53:59not going
00:53:59to say
00:54:00it
00:54:00I'm not
00:54:00even going
00:54:01to go
00:54:01for it
00:54:01because it
00:54:01will bring
00:54:02me all
00:54:02sorts of
00:54:02hassle
00:54:03but
00:54:03nevertheless
00:54:04good on
00:54:05you
00:54:05come on
00:54:05have a
00:54:06bit of
00:54:06spirit

00:54:11absolutely
00:54:12magnificent
00:54:13costumes

00:54:14walking
00:54:15about

00:54:15been
00:54:15really
00:54:17good
00:54:17Ruffy
00:54:17it's
00:54:17the
00:54:18type of

00:54:18Maggie
00:54:18do

00:54:32pair of
00:54:32heels
00:54:32like
00:54:32Ruffy
00:54:32yeah
00:54:33absolutely

00:54:35let's
00:54:36concentrate

00:54:49trying
00:54:49to
00:54:50keep
00:54:50everything
00:54:50on an
00:54:51even
00:54:51keel
00:54:51million
00:54:52percent
00:54:52we've been a very
00:54:54positive story on how quickly things can change in a positive way last season I've said that many times
00:55:00but then you also need to be
00:55:02this is a good thing about the group and I say this to them is making sure that you don't get too high after the back of a result and you stay humble and you keep working hard and you appreciate why we're getting results and when we have had results and when we have had results and why that happens because it changes very quickly going the other way as well so look how tight it is as I've just said there I'm not sure exactly the points but there can't be many between top and bottom
00:55:20well not top but
00:55:21six or seven places how quickly it can change
00:55:24with one result
00:55:24never mind two or three if you can put them together
00:55:27yeah
00:55:28this is the table Tam
00:55:30and you look and you see Hibs
00:55:33and you think to yourself
00:55:34fourth
00:55:35Hibs fans
00:55:36obviously it's painful seeing Hearts top but
00:55:39fourth at this point
00:55:41I think they'll be like
00:55:42yeah we take that
00:55:43yeah I think considering where they were last season Peter
00:55:45they were bottom of the league at this point probably
00:55:46I think
00:55:47it's an amazing turnaround for both
00:55:48Edinburgh clubs actually both was in the bottom tube
00:55:50so
00:55:51I think the fact that Hearts are flying
00:55:53you know sticks in the crow a little bit for the Hibs supporters
00:55:55but
00:55:55I think the fact that Hibs have not really turned up twice now against Rangers
00:55:59you know once in the league cup away from home
00:56:01where a lot of people were tipping Rangers to go and turn
00:56:03Russell Martin's team over
00:56:04they didn't turn up
00:56:05and then the other night I didn't think they turned up in the final third
00:56:07is Bowie doing enough for you?
00:56:09nah I think he
00:56:10he looks off the boil at the minute Peter
00:56:12and there's plenty of options for him
00:56:13for David Gray
00:56:14Eli Johan
00:56:15Martin
00:56:15Boyle
00:56:15the only thing I would say is Livingston
00:56:17I suppose it's a tough game to go away from home
00:56:20and Bowie might be needed for set pieces
00:56:22and his physical presence
00:56:23so he might keep him in the team
00:56:24but
00:56:24yeah he looks as if he's getting frustrated now Peter
00:56:27in terms of the service
00:56:28I don't think he's scored in seven games
00:56:30so
00:56:30he needs a goal
00:56:31like most strikers do
00:56:32if you go through six, seven, eight games without a goal
00:56:34you
00:56:34you start to get frustrated
00:56:36and the important thing for him is
00:56:37just keep getting into positions to score goals
00:56:38and something will drop for you
00:56:39but
00:56:39as poor as Hibs were there all night
00:56:42I think they'll go and take care of Livingston
00:56:43I think they'll beat Livingston twice this season
00:56:45and I think they'll go and make it three now
00:56:47tomorrow
00:56:47what about David Martindale and his mindset
00:56:52Ruffy
00:56:53because
00:56:53if Stephen Robinson's miffed at some of the suggestions
00:56:57of the way they're playing
00:56:58Livingston
00:57:00he's tried to
00:57:01put the side together
00:57:03playing a bit of football
00:57:04and I think that's to his credit
00:57:05but
00:57:06it's certainly not working out
00:57:07at the moment
00:57:08no it isn't
00:57:09you know
00:57:10and
00:57:10I think again
00:57:11at the early part of the season
00:57:13we thought they were going to be
00:57:14particularly hard to beat
00:57:15but they're not
00:57:16they are getting beaten regular now
00:57:18they're down where they don't want to be
00:57:19but they've been down there before
00:57:21they know how to deal with it
00:57:22and it's up to David
00:57:23to come up with
00:57:24the idea
00:57:25I think they thought
00:57:26because it was the beginning of the season
00:57:27the new owners
00:57:28and play
00:57:29seven was going to be on the up
00:57:31but it's not proved that way
00:57:32but
00:57:32he knows like
00:57:33Dundee
00:57:34and the rest of them
00:57:35that he just needs to be out of that bottom two
00:57:37yeah what's your prediction
00:57:38Hibs have got to start winning games for me
00:57:40you know
00:57:41it's okay
00:57:41I'm talking up
00:57:43and they've got good players
00:57:44and they're playing good football
00:57:45but
00:57:45I think the Hibs supporters demand
00:57:47that they start winning
00:57:48give us your prediction
00:57:49Hibs 2-1
00:57:51Ali
00:57:52Hibs 2-0
00:57:53okay
00:57:54I think they're going to
00:57:56I think they're going to just
00:57:57edge at Hibs
00:57:582-1
00:57:582-0 for Hibs for me
00:57:59yeah
00:58:00okay
00:58:00listen
00:58:01an absolute joy
00:58:03on the programme today
00:58:05to talk about the football
00:58:07because
00:58:07certainly over the last week
00:58:08I don't think even
00:58:10in the mad days
00:58:12that Scottish football
00:58:13just keeps on giving
00:58:14we would have witnessed
00:58:15such a dramatic change
00:58:17Ruff
00:58:17we were getting ready
00:58:18at the weekend
00:58:19for
00:58:20a Celtic Rangers game
00:58:21which is always
00:58:22eagerly anticipated
00:58:24but suddenly
00:58:24you're looking at
00:58:25two dugouts
00:58:26where both dugouts
00:58:27have a change
00:58:28in management
00:58:29and it's
00:58:30we've highlighted
00:58:31Back to the Future
00:58:32with Martin O'Neill
00:58:33and Rangers fans
00:58:34hoping for a bright future
00:58:35with Danny Rule
00:58:36it's incredible
00:58:37the week that's gone on
00:58:38somewhere
00:58:38out there on this planet
00:58:40I wonder if Brendan Rodgers
00:58:42will even
00:58:42hit the button
00:58:43on his television
00:58:44to watch the game
00:58:45it's a difficult one
00:58:49you know
00:58:49obviously we'll still be
00:58:50trying to go over
00:58:51what's actually happened
00:58:52it's always been a lot
00:58:54it means a lot to him
00:58:55you know
00:58:56these kind of games
00:58:57and it means a lot to everybody
00:58:58winning these kind of games
00:58:59because you don't want to
00:59:00and the Monday
00:59:01be on the end
00:59:02of the defeat
00:59:02so I think both
00:59:04I mean Martin will know
00:59:05what to expect
00:59:06if they don't win it
00:59:07but the Rangers manager
00:59:08if he wins it
00:59:09he'll be nearly a hero
00:59:11for one game
00:59:12everybody's had an opinion
00:59:13on it Ali
00:59:14even Callum McGregor
00:59:15the captain
00:59:16has said
00:59:16you know
00:59:17he changed the landscape
00:59:18he's paid tribute
00:59:19to Brendan Rodgers
00:59:20because
00:59:21if anything
00:59:22this week
00:59:23has been scathing
00:59:24from the
00:59:24majority shareholder
00:59:26Dermot Desmond
00:59:28and he's paid tribute
00:59:29obviously to another man
00:59:30that maybe people
00:59:31will look and say
00:59:32okay
00:59:32he's had a long period
00:59:33there John Kennedy
00:59:34out the door
00:59:35and looking possibly
00:59:36for his first
00:59:37managerial role
00:59:38it's a sad end
00:59:41for John Kennedy
00:59:42and a very long
00:59:43association
00:59:43I think a lot
00:59:44said this week
00:59:45about the manner
00:59:46of that exit
00:59:47I think it felt
00:59:48a bit tawdry
00:59:49that Celtic
00:59:50didn't release anything
00:59:51just to
00:59:52or when they did
00:59:53release something
00:59:54it was
00:59:54sometime after
00:59:56news broke
00:59:57that he'd already
00:59:58left the club
00:59:59it was almost as if
01:00:00he was just
01:00:00sort of sneaking out
01:00:01the back door
01:00:02which I think is unfair
01:00:03given the length
01:00:05of service
01:00:05that he'd given
01:00:07the club
01:00:07in terms of
01:00:08Brendan Rodgers
01:00:09time will frame
01:00:11his two spells
01:00:13at Celtic
01:00:14as very successful
01:00:15spells
01:00:15when you look
01:00:16at the trophy
01:00:17hall
01:00:17what was delivered
01:00:19across both spells
01:00:20but I don't think
01:00:22there's any doubt
01:00:22that it leaves
01:00:24just the manner
01:00:25of the exit
01:00:25in the last couple
01:00:27of months
01:00:27probably leaves
01:00:28a sour element
01:00:29to it
01:00:30yeah I think
01:00:30on that period
01:00:32of Brendan Rodgers
01:00:33winning games
01:00:34the highlight
01:00:35I think that he'll
01:00:35always be able
01:00:36to take away
01:00:36is the way
01:00:37his team played
01:00:38against Bayern Munich
01:00:39sadly I think
01:00:41you know his
01:00:42his reputation
01:00:43as far as
01:00:45and his place
01:00:45in Celtic's history
01:00:46will be tarnished
01:00:47a little
01:00:47by this whole episode
01:00:49and I think Celtic fans
01:00:50will always look upon
01:00:52Brendan Rodgers
01:00:52but
01:00:53in their assessment
01:00:55of his period
01:00:56in charge
01:00:57which
01:00:57you know
01:00:58whether history
01:00:59as it goes past
01:01:01month after month
01:01:02year after year
01:01:03they start to look
01:01:04on him more
01:01:04favourably
01:01:05only time will tell
01:01:06it's as ever
01:01:08Scottish football
01:01:09giving you the best
01:01:10and the worst
01:01:11of times

01:01:15Cup semi-finals
01:01:16two cracking matches
01:01:17we'll have
01:01:18the build-up to it
01:01:19we'll have post-match
01:01:20reaction from managers
01:01:21and players
