00:00Virginia Roberts Geoffrey's posthumous memoir was due to be released on October 21st,

00:07basically rehashing all of the allegations that she's made against Andrew and including a few

00:12more. So in an apparent attempt to get ahead of this, Andrew announced that he has relinquished

00:22all of his royal titles. And now we know that actually includes his title of prince. According

00:27to BBC Buckingham Palace just released a statement saying that the king has quote initiated a formal

00:33process to remove the style titles and honors of Prince Andrew. So along with now being known as

00:39Andrew Monbatten Windsor, this change also includes his other honors. He was bestowed the title of Duke

00:47of York. His wife or now former wife Sarah Ferguson was the Duchess of York when they were married.

00:53She actually continued to use the title even after their divorce, but that's now a thing of the past

00:58because he is no longer the Duke of York. He has given up that title along with several very prestigious

01:05military honors that he earned during his past career. Charles was kind of like, look, the royal

01:12family's reputation is difficult enough to maintain as it is. We need to kind of take an even stricter

01:19view as far as Andrew is concerned. Charles also was very open about his kind of desire to slim down the

01:29monarchy as far as those official roles were concerned. So Andrew's position within the royal

01:35family was kind of already on the chopping block. Add to that the horrifying, you know, Virginia Roberts

01:41accusations. And it was kind of a sensible decision, I think, just to be like,

01:45a little more distance, a little more separation of family. So Charles has been trying to convince

01:52Andrew to move out of Royal Lodge for several years now. The baseline is Andrew and Fergie are moving

01:58out and goodness knows who will move in. But hopefully it's someone who has a little bit more

02:03than a pound a month to afford for rent.
