00:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:04Today we're talking about a particularly interesting sedan from China,
00:08which not only surprises with its unusual name,
00:10but also with its impressive range, the Gili Galaxy A7.
00:16When you think of the A7, you might initially think of Audi or even an older Samsung smartphone.
00:22But with the Galaxy A7, Gili is launching a unique model that deserves attention in many ways.
00:30This large sedan, about as long as a Toyota Camry, is offered under the key Galaxy brand,
00:35a relatively new sub-label that focuses on plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles.
00:41The Galaxy A7 is not an SUV, but a classic notch-back sedan, a rarity on today's market.
00:50Technically, the Galaxy A7 is based on a plug-in hybrid system that combines a small,
00:54naturally aspirated 1.5-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor.
01:00The result, a combined consumption of just around 2 liters per 100 kilometers,
01:05which equates to around 118 miles per gallon.
01:10Particularly impressive is the combined range of over 2,100 kilometers with a full tank and a full
01:15battery according to the Chinese CLTC cycle.
01:18Up to 120 kilometers should be possible in purely electric mode with the largest available battery,
01:25thanks to a lithium-iron phosphate battery with a capacity of 19 kWh.
01:31The batteries are provided by suppliers KB and KL.
01:36Visually, the Galaxy A7 is also in tune with the times.
01:40The front and rear areas are accentuated by continuous light strips.
01:43The interior is characterized by a huge central display and almost completely dispensed with
01:49physical controls.
01:51The sedan is offered with rims between 17 and 19 inches.
01:56The weight is up to around 1,700 kilograms, depending on the equipment.
02:01With a length of around 4.9 meters, a width of around 1.9 meters and a height of around 1.5 meters
02:10as well as a wheelbase of 2.8 meters, the Galaxy A7 offers generous space and is visually a real
02:16contender with established brands such as Audi.
02:18Interestingly, Audi also offers a classic A7 sedan in China under the name A7L.
02:28However, this one is produced by a different Chinese partner company.
02:33The Galaxy A7 shows how seriously Gili takes this vehicle class.
02:37The targeted starting price is also particularly noteworthy.
02:41According to reports from China, the Galaxy A7 is expected to cost between around 13,000 euros
02:46and 17,000 euros.
02:49A clear indication of how far China has come in terms of efficient and cost-effective vehicle
02:53production.
02:56The Galaxy A7 is produced by the Gili Group, which also brings together brands such as Volvo,
03:02Polestar, Lotus, Lincoln Co., Seeker and Ferrazone under its roof.
