00:07On Thursday, Senators voted 51 to 47 to end the so-called reciprocal tariffs, with four Republicans joining all Democrats in the opposition.
00:20This marks the third time this week that Republican Senators have sided with Democrats to roll back Trump's tariffs.
00:27Earlier in the week, the Senate also approved two other resolutions to terminate Trump's tariffs on Brazil and Canada.
00:33The vote comes as Trump wraps up a week in Asia, where he reached a deal with China to lower tariffs on Chinese goods and increase purchases of U.S. soybeans and agricultural products.
00:44But analysts say the resolutions are largely symbolic and unlikely to be taken up by the House, where Republican leaders have moved to block lawmakers from forcing a tariff vote.
00:54Even if the House approves them, Congress would still need a two-thirds majority to override a presidential veto.
