00:16The Porsche 718 Spyder RS may have been predictable, but it's still incredibly exciting.
00:24Essentially, it's a Cayman GT4 RS with unlimited headroom.
00:30Instead of a fixed roof, there's a removable and manually operated fabric soft top.
00:37The one-piece hood, including Winshot, weighs just 18.3 kg,
00:42which is 7.6 kg less than the regular 718 Spyder and a saving of 16.5 kg compared to the 718 Boxster system.
00:52Overall, the new 718 Spyder RS tips the scales at just 1,410 kg curb weight, 40 kg less than the
01:02non-RS Vion. It's no heavy brute. Apart from the roof, it bears a marked resemblance to its coupe
01:08counterpart. It's also the last 718 with a combustion engine and has been lowered by 30 mm.
01:15It sits on 20-inch forged wheels, which can optionally be replaced with magnesium rims.
01:21According to Porsche, the Spyder RS is not a simple copy of the Cayman GT4 RS,
01:27however, as it features a different spring and damper setup.
01:30This should enable more comfortable handling and better meet customer expectations of a convertible.
01:38The mid-engine sports car can also be ordered with the WISAC package.
01:42The manufacturer also equips the vehicle with tailpipes whose design is based on the 2018 935,
01:51which in turn is a homage to the 9995 Lemon race car, better known as the Moby Dick.
01:57Like the Cayman, the open-top 718 Spyder RS uses the same 4000L naturally aspirated engine from the
02:041911 GT3. The six-cylinder boxer engine generates 500 hp and 450 Nm.
02:12of torque, which is sent to the rear axle via a close-ratio 7-speed PDK.
02:18Thanks to the combination, the Spyder RS sprints from 0 to 100 km per hour in just 3.5 seconds and
02:24from 0 to 200 km per hour in 10.9 seconds. These are figures that correspond to those of the Cayman
02:30GT4 RS. On a clear road, it reaches a top speed of 308 km per hour. That's 7 km per hour less than the
02:40coupe, but 8 km per hour more than the standard Spyder. If you've fallen in love with the Porsche 718
