00:00Hi, I'm Matt, and this is the stunning new Rocket 3 GT 221 Special Edition.
00:18With a unique scheme that celebrates the Rocket 3's world-leading 221 Nm of phenomenal torque,
00:26delivered by the largest production motorcycle engine on the planet.
00:30Now this really special livery, which is available for one year only,
00:34underlines the Rocket's incredible performance through this striking yet understated design.
00:40And there's no dispute in the Rocket's dominance in numbers.
00:44221 Nm of torque, 2,458cc engine,
00:50167 PS power, 85.9mm stroke, 110.2mm bore.
00:58And all of these incredible numbers feature on the top of the richly coloured red hopper tank,
01:03in a sophisticated and stylish design, enhanced by these contemporary 221 knee pad graphics.
01:10The lustrous red hopper paint of the tank is carried across to the front mudguard,
01:15while the rear bodywork, fly screen, radiator cowls, side panels and headlamp balls
01:21are all finished in a deep sapphire black for an added layer of sophistication.
01:26Of course, in addition to this really beautiful special edition scheme,
01:30you also get all of the latest generation Rocket 3's incredible ride and specification.
01:35It's a completely integrated package of phenomenal performance,
01:39class-leading handling, outstanding technology and laid-back attitude and comfort.
01:44Not only does the 2,500cc triple deliver the world's highest torque at 221 Nm,
01:51but peak power is also a breathtaking 167 PS.
01:56It's been tuned to deliver power all the way from a low 3,500 RPM to the red line at 7,000 RPM,
02:05while peak torque is reached at just 4,000 RPM and is held all the way through the mid-range.
02:11The result is unparalleled acceleration, 0-60 in 2.73 seconds and all day, any gear effortless riding.
02:19It's a beautiful-looking engine, too, with a hydroformed three-header exhaust run,
02:24which delivers the most magnificent, rich triple-engine roar.
02:28The Rocket 3 GT also features a high-performance six-speed helical-cut gearbox
02:33and a torque-assist hydraulic clutch for super-slick operation.
02:37Adding to the Rocket 3's clean, uncluttered styling
02:40is the beautifully engineered aluminium single-sided swingarm with offset monoshock suspension.
02:46The wheels are lightweight, cast aluminium with an intricate spoke design
02:50and come fitted with two 40mm Avon Cobra chrome tyres.
02:55These have been developed especially for the Rocket 3
02:57and deliver exceptional grip and high mileage durability.
03:01Adding further to the clean look and muscular feel,
03:04you have these internally-wired touring-style handlebars,
03:07which hide away all of the usual cables and wires.
03:11With regard to comfort and seating,
03:13the Rocket 3 GT comes with sculpted rider and pillion touring saddles
03:17with a low rider seat height of 750mm.
03:21Now, one of the lovely features of the new-generation Rocket
03:24is its adaptability.
03:26For example, while the GT comes as standard
03:28with this touring rider and pillion seat setup
03:31and this brushed aluminium pillion backrest,
03:33if you prefer a single-seat look,
03:35you can easily change to the same seating setup as the R model
03:39by fitting the accessory roadster seat and infill pad.
03:42You can also hide the pillion footpegs away
03:45thanks to this unique and elegant fold-away design.
03:48The feet-forward foot controls are adjustable too,
03:50with three horizontal position settings to choose from.
03:54The height of the pillion backrest is also adjustable.
03:57When it comes to handling, the Rocket 3 GT is a revelation,
04:01not only in terms of laid-back comfort and touring with ease,
04:05but also with its genuinely dynamic ride.
04:08Triumphs are renowned for their handling
04:10and the GT is no exception.
04:12It's agile, precise and responsive
04:14and it goes exactly where you want it to,
04:16unlike some of the more traditional cruisers.
04:19The GT has a lightweight aluminium frame
04:22and a very high specification of equipment.
04:24On the rear there's a fully adjustable Showa Monoshock RSU
04:28with piggyback reservoir,
04:29while up front the upside-down Showa cartridge front forks
04:33are adjustable for compression and rebound damping.
04:36The brakes are Brembo's top specification road-going radial monoblock calipers,
04:41Brembo Stylemas, with twin 320mm floating discs.
04:46These cutting-edge calipers are a lightweight and compact design
04:50with optimized airflow for efficient cooling.
04:53And further highlighting the incredible specification of this bike,
04:57at the rear is a four-piston monoblock caliper and 300mm disc.
05:02The Rocket 3 also comes with Triumph's optimized cornering ABS
05:05and traction control as standard.
05:07These are controlled by a sophisticated inertial measurement unit
05:11which measures the roll, pitch, yaw and acceleration rates of the bike,
05:15in order to calculate the lean angle
05:18and optimize braking and traction control accordingly.
05:21The instruments are full-color TFT with two information layout themes
05:25that can be personalized and are angle-adjustable.
05:28The TFT system has the My Triumph connectivity system software
05:32already installed and enabled, set up and ready to be used
05:36with an accessory fit Bluetooth module.
05:38This gives you GoPro interaction, turn-by-turn navigation and phone and music operation
05:44via the switch cubes all displayed on the TFT screen.
05:48There are four riding modes to choose from, rain, road, sport and rider configurable,
05:53all of which can be easily changed whilst on the move via the illuminated switch cubes.
05:58The riding modes adjust the throttle response and the traction control settings
06:02to suit rider preference and riding conditions.
06:05For low energy consumption, increased durability and greater safety visibility,
06:09the Rocket 3 GT has all LED lighting, including this twin LED headlight,
06:15this beautifully shaped tail light, the indicators and the number plate light.
06:20The headlights also incorporate these signature shaped LED daytime running lights,
06:25increasing rider visibility to other road users.
06:28As standard, the Rocket comes equipped with hill-hole control, cruise control, keyless ignition
06:34and keyless steering lock and a USB charging socket.
06:38Plus, only on the GT, heated grips as standard.
06:41As with all Triumphs, there is a wide range of genuine accessories available
06:45so you can tailor your bike to suit your preferences.
06:48These include Triumph shift assist for clutchless up and down gear changes
06:52and a tyre pressure monitoring system for enhanced safety and control.
06:57There's also a range of luggage with an innovative Triumph patented cast aluminium pannier mounting system,
07:03interchangeable seats and handlebars and tracking and alarm systems.
