00:00Venezuela sent humanitarian aid to the islands of Cuba and Jamaica after the devastating impact
00:05of Hurricane Melissa. In a gesture of regional solidarity and commitment to South-South
00:10cooperation, the Bolivarian nation shipped 46 tons of food and essential supplies. The supplies
00:18that will be delivered to both Caribbean nations include more than 10,250 kilograms of food,
00:242,500 mattresses and at least 9,500 medicine items, among other things, to meet the needs of
00:33those affected. In this context, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister Evangel recalled that this
00:38Thursday marks the 25th anniversary of the comprehensive cooperation agreement between
00:45Caracas and Havana signed by Presidents Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro.
00:54The passage of the hurricane requires us to step up with special aid for the Republic
01:03of Cuba, Jamaica, and other countries. We are prepared precisely because of that instruction,
01:12because of that legacy and that architecture designed by our commanders, which is more
01:16relevant today than ever. While other countries focus on threats in the Caribbean to create
01:22instability and threaten peace in the region, Venezuela is taking a step forward.
