00:00I didn't expect this huge success, first of all.
00:02A lot of people you touched with season one,
00:05it was really, really...
00:06It gave us the strength, you know,
00:09and the excitement and the fun to make season two.
00:12I'm very proud of this season.
00:14I'm super proud.
00:15I really think that we achieved what we wanted to tell with the story.
00:21Oh, well, I'm not allowed actually to talk about it,
00:24but I think what we tried to achieve is to bring a beautiful conclusion.
00:30So, my first question to you was,
00:36did you expect that your German show would become such an international hit?
00:42You know, watch how millions are on the world.
00:44Explanations are so high for the next season.
00:48Do you have any pressure to deliver?
00:51Actually, no.
00:53Actually, I didn't expect this huge success, first of all.
00:57because we said we are producing this show for the German market.
01:01There was never a plan to release it so big into the world.
01:06When they watched the show, Amazon watched the show when we finished season one,
01:11and they said, wow, it has potential to travel the world.
01:14And then we were super excited that it did.
01:19And I never felt, now with season two, I never felt pressure.
01:25Actually, it was pure joy.
01:27Because, you know, it's hard for an artist when you make art and no one watches.
01:33And if you know that there are a lot of people you touched with season one,
01:37it was really, really, it gave us the strength, you know,
01:41and the excitement and the fun to make season two.
01:44So, no pressure at all.
01:45And I don't like to put pressure on my team or my set, my set.
01:50I always want everyone to have fun because I think when they have fun,
01:55the fun will translate to the audience.
01:58And so we never, never felt pressure at all.
02:01Yeah.
02:02So, you know, one of the key parts that, you know, the reason why the show works
02:06is because of your, you know, the chemistry between Ruby and James,
02:10played by your actors, Jamie and Harriet.
02:13Can you tell me how do you work on the chemistry for, you know, season two,
02:18which is a little bit, you know, darker and a little bit more angstier?
02:22Yes.
02:23Well, first of all, the hardest part was the casting to find the right couple.
02:30And if you have, if you have found them, it's really easy.
02:34But the thing is,
02:39we worked so hard with Damien because he's going down so deep into his emotions
02:47that he's pushing Ruby away, actually.
02:51And Damien is a wonderful actor who gives a thousand percent into his acting
02:58and into the character.
02:59So it made it really easy for, for Harriet as well, because it translated to the set,
03:07you know, and, and when he was angry, you felt it.
03:12And, and it made, it made it really easy because he's, he's some, he's a little bit
03:16like method, method actor, you know, and, and it, it, it made it so easy because he gave
03:23so much into it, um, that, uh, it was pure joy for us that there was something, you know,
03:29you have, didn't have to create it.
03:32It was already there.
03:33And, um, yeah.
03:35Yeah.
03:36Yeah.
03:37Yeah.
03:38And of course, you know, uh, before even season two came out, season three has been renewed.
03:43Um, we're very excited to watch season two, but can you give us a little bit of a tease
03:49about what to expect for season three?
03:51Oh, well, I'm not allowed actually to talk about it.
03:54Um, but I think, uh, uh, it will be, but I think what, what we tried to achieve is to
04:00bring a beautiful conclusion to the whole story and to, to all the characters and the friendships
04:06and everything.
04:07But that's all I, I can say because, uh, we are in the process now of finding the way
04:13to tell the story.
04:16Yes, definitely.
04:17Okay.
04:18And, um, my last question to you is, you know, the show is exploding on social media.
04:22Um, have you, do you get a chance to watch the fan edits that people make?
04:27Yes, I actually do.
04:28I watch a lot of them.
04:30I follow a lot of fan groups and I try to be as active as possible.
04:34Yes, yes, yes.
04:35Um, and I, I really.
04:37You know, I started as a fan myself.
04:39Yeah.
04:40I was a fan of a lot of films and everything.
04:43And I actually, I made fan edits when I was 14, I think.
04:47I edited a lot of trailers of my favorite movies and everything.
04:50So I know the passion behind that.
04:52And I really, really love that people love what we did so much that they put their hearts
04:59and souls into creating new art of it.
05:02Yes, absolutely.
05:03And do you think that they're going to be happy with the new season?
05:06I really hope so.
05:08Are they heartbroken?
05:09Are they heartbroken?
05:10I hope that they have a lot of heartbreak, a lot of joy.
05:21And, uh, I'm very proud of this season.
05:23I'm, I'm super proud.
05:25I, I really think that we achieved what we wanted to tell with the story.
05:31Um, and I really, really hope that it will be a rollercoaster ride for, an emotional rollercoaster
05:36ride for the audience with a lot of heartbreak, a lot of darkness in, in, in some places, but
05:42a lot of joy and, um, a lot of romance and love and everything.
05:46Listener.
05:47Okay.
05:48Thank you so much for your time today.
05:49Yes, you're welcome.
05:50It was a pleasure talking to you.
05:52I'm sorry, but I really hope you didn't get a lot of fun.
06:01Go ahead and get it done.
06:02Bye.
06:03Bye.
06:04Bye.
06:05Bye.
