00:00My house is haunted. I'm still just scared that there are feral people living in my walls.
00:04There is a literal hallway system that wraps around the entire foundation of my basement.
00:09The lore surrounding my house and the village that it's built in is actually crazy.
00:13So in this room, it is a room with a cement wall built in front of it.
00:20Now we don't know why the cement wall was built here.
00:22My husband and I actually jumped over the wall. What we found inside was actually terrifying.
00:27Her haunted house has some dark secrets.
00:30We noticed that the room had definitely been attached to the one next to it at some point,
00:34but those doorways had also been cemented over.
00:37While exploring, we found some strange items inside, including a used blue candle,
00:43half of a Victorian-aged photograph of a woman, and half of a handwritten note.
00:48Also inside of the room, there seemed to be some random boards that appeared to have burnt ends on them.
00:54The note sent shivers down her spine and left everyone with even more questions.
00:59And the note reads,
01:00Dear Ethel, Charles was sick when he came home this noon.
01:03If he asks you to let him come home, and that's it.
01:07That room used to connect to this room, the room that I'm going to show you next.
01:12This is the room that I feel really terrified about.
01:14So bear with me.
01:16She knows what this room was used for, and it's not what you'd expect.
01:22Unlike the first room I showed you, which isn't even usable because you can't go inside of it,
01:27this room actually used to be used by my great-grandfather as a tornado shelter.
01:32For moving to where we are now, he lived in Missouri in Tornado Alley,
01:35so he was absolutely terrified of tornadoes.
01:38And when they moved into this house, this room was here, and he made it into a tornado shelter.
01:42See, when my parents moved into this home, it was barely livable with holes in the ceiling and severe water damage.
01:49In order to salvage it and make it viable for their growing family to live here,
01:53my parents had to borrow against the house in order to do all of the necessary repairs and remodels.
01:58My great-grandparents moved into the home in the 1930s,
02:01as you can see from the date inscribed into the fireplace that my great-grandfather built by hand.
02:06But the house was built in the 1840s.
02:08As you can see from the original abstract of title, there is quite the list of owners long before my ancestors ever moved in.
02:15And they're still uncovering their secrets to this day.
02:18Well, when my great-grandparents did move into the home,
02:21everything from the previous owners was left behind in these rooms.
02:24A lot of it was already gone through, and as painful as it is for me to say, a lot of it was thrown away.
02:29But as you can see, we still have a lot of it, and they've already uncovered a plethora of really cool and some really creepy items.
02:37Some believe spirits can live in old items.
02:39My great-grandpa and later my grandpa really struggled with hoarding.
02:43And over the years, they just continued to add on to the things that they couldn't seem to part with.
02:48My dad, in turn, kept these things out of normalcy.
02:52And because it's really overwhelming, and you don't really know where to start, especially when you're doing it alone.
02:58But since my husband and I will be taking over on the house soon,
03:01we've already began dedicating time to going through, cleaning out the rooms, and remodeling the house in full.
