00:00Phil is a guy who's protective of his legacy, always has been.
00:03It was terrible for him in New York, and so it's not unusual that you would think he's going to figure out excuses and reasons to explain away what was just a horrific time here.
00:12Really nothing that he left behind.
00:14He did not leave the Knicks behind any stronger than when he arrived, which is the one thing you hope when you're a GM you do.
00:22Look, him and Melo were never a good fit.
00:24It was obvious from the start.
00:26It was obvious that he wanted Melo gone, but it was also obvious that because of the language of Melo's contract, he had a no trade deal.
00:32So he had to be able to convince him in order to make that happen.
00:36Never could.
00:37Not surprising.
00:38Those are two enormous personalities.
00:41And, you know, when the Knicks hired Phil, Brandon, I said, it's interesting that you would think he would be as good a GM as he was a coach because they're two different skill sets.
00:51You know, it's like expecting a really good heart surgeon to be a really good dentist.
00:54They're two different disciplines.
00:56And, you know, that's the example I'm going to cite every time someone tries to make that move from now on, because that's how bad Phil Jackson's tenure was here.
01:03And now he's trying to, you know, kind of expunge that record to the best that he can by spinning.
01:10And so it's not unusual that Melo's going to get caught in that tornado.
01:13Take care.
