ACT senator Katy Gallagher fires up in the Senate over the delayed Briggs review, into the former 'jobs for mates' culture in the public service

00:00This report was commissioned by myself for the purposes of looking at how we improve

00:05appointments to boards and committees across government in recognition of the culture of

00:10jobs for mates that had existed under the former government.

00:14I voluntarily said that I would be releasing that report.

00:19I said that at the time.

00:24I said I would, and I will.

00:27On the issue of the report and the motions that have been before here twice seeking

00:34that report, the government has quite rightly said that this is a matter that the cabinet

00:40is considering.

00:41I note in Senator Pocock's motion, as he grins up there in the corner, that he says that

00:47Odges says that a document should not merely— No, it is not time.

00:54I sought leave to make a statement.

01:37as we resolve the government's position on this.
