00:09President Donald Trump announced early Friday morning, September 12th.

00:13The POTUS revealed the person police believe assassinated Kirk was in custody

00:17after a nearly 48-hour frantic manhunt for the shooter.

00:21I think, with a high degree of certainty, we have him,

00:24Trump said while appearing at Fox's Manhattan studio for a live Fox & Friends interview,

00:28revealing he found out only minutes before the taping began.

00:32The suspect was later identified as a 22-year-old Utah resident named Tyler Robinson.

00:37Somebody who was very close to him turned him in, Trump disclosed,

00:41claiming information was given through a minister who was involved with law enforcement.

00:45I hope he's going to be found guilty, I would imagine, and I hope he gets the death penalty,

00:50the president declared while mourning the loss of one of his most fiercely outspoken allies.

00:55Trump didn't want to go into too much detail during his television appearance.

00:59As he said, law enforcement would give an official update later today.

01:42that was founded by Charlie and Bill Montgomery in 2012

01:46and advocates for conservative politics on high school, college, and university campuses.

01:51Charlie and Erica Kirk were married for over four years.

01:55Charlie was tragically gunned down at his The American Comeback Tour,

01:58known for engaging college students in debates.
