00:00Hillary Clinton accused of spreading hate after viral MSNBC comments.
00:05Though Hillary Clinton's name has been out of headlines for the most part,
00:09a recent interview with MSNBC has earned her quite a bit of backlash.
00:13After expressing her disapproval with Christian conservatism,
00:16saying it promotes division, many devout Christians have come for her neck.
00:21In an interview on Morning Joe, the former first lady told hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski,
00:26You know, I love my country, and I love it, you know, warts and all,
00:31and I'm proud of the fact that we have always been a work in progress.
00:35You know, we haven't gotten to the more perfect union.
00:38She continued, saying that the First Amendment that provides freedom of speech and freedom to protest
00:43is what makes us so special as a country.
00:47Scarborough then made comments about the history of America
00:50and how it's persisted through slavery and through the Civil War.
00:53The idea that you could turn the clock back and try to recreate a world
00:58that never was dominated by, you know, let's say it,
01:02white men of a certain persuasion, a certain religion, a certain point of view,
01:07a certain ideology, it's just doing such damage to what we should be aiming for, Clinton said.
01:13Conservatives on social media, though, seem to have missed her point.
01:17Hillary is spreading hate and division as usual, one person wrote on Instagram.
01:21The damage she does every time she opens her mouth is more worrisome.
01:25She is hard to watch, agreed another.
01:28Others, though, recognized her efforts to bridge the divide between parties.
01:32So refreshing to hear an adult, articulate conversation
01:36unlike the driveling, monosyllabic nincompoop we have currently minding the store,
01:41one person wrote in a YouTube comment.
01:43Thank goodness for Hillary Clinton, said another, a voice of actual knowledge.
01:47Intelligence, thoughtfulness, articulation, a breath of fresh air added a third.
01:53Great job, MSNBC, a final fan posted.
01:56Listening and learning from Hillary Clinton is a treat.
