Scientists have just discovered a super-Earth less than 20 light-years away — and it might be the most promising place yet in the search for alien life. :globe_showing_Europe-Africa::flying_saucer: Named GJ 251 c, this rocky planet is four times the size of Earth and sits in the Goldilocks Zone, where liquid water could exist. That makes it a prime candidate to host life as we know it.
Using 20 years of star data and a powerful tool called the Habitable-Zone Planet Finder, researchers detected the planet by noticing a tiny “wobble” in its host star. While we don’t yet know if GJ 251 c has an atmosphere, upcoming next-gen telescopes could reveal that within a decade. This could be our best chance yet to detect biosignatures from another world — without ever leaving Earth.
Could this be where we finally find proof that we’re not alone in the universe? :milky_way::alien: WooGlobe Ref : WGA480050 For licensing and to use this video, please email licensing@wooglobe.com
