African Swine Fever Causes Shortages for Taiwan's Food Vendors

A ban on the slaughter and transport of pigs has been extended from five to 15 days after African swine fever was detected on a central Taiwan farm. So far, the disease — which is fatal to pigs, but doesn't affect humans — has been contained. But food vendors are already suffering from a pork shortage.
