00:00Are you confident that Zohra Mamdani can be a good mayor for New York City and the business community can work constructively with him?
00:07I mean, he is on route to becoming the mayor in November.
00:10I think that's a very high probability.
00:12And, you know, the hope would be, as often happens, that people run for office with a certain set of views, in some cases not tempered by years of experience or managing a government or a business.
00:30And once they get in the seat, they recognize that what do all New Yorkers care about?
00:37Public safety, jobs, education, affordability.
00:43He's focused on the last.
00:45But you can't sit in the mayoral seat without being very, very focused on the first three.
00:53And some of the things he said would suggest that he's going to undertake policies that are not constructive for public safety, jobs and education.
01:05But I do believe that once you get in that seat, you start to really think about what's best for the city and particularly the people who he has expressed great concern about, those who are less fortunate in our society.
01:21And they they want public safety.
01:25They want great education for their kids and they want jobs.
01:29So you're confident that he will choose pragmatism in the end?
01:32Confident would be an overstatement.
01:35I think there there's always the hope that when someone gets that responsibility, that they take it seriously.
01:42Has he reached out to you?
01:43Have you reached out to him?
01:45Have you talked to him?
01:46I have not talked to him.
01:47And if he were to reach out to you, how would you advise him?
01:49I would offer my help.
