00:00The fans are continuing to be rough on Volpe in a nine-run inning, got booed.
00:06He's obviously playing good defense, but offensively,
00:09is there anything you can think of that he can do?
00:11And do you think the fans are affecting him to some degree?
00:14Because he didn't really look like himself today at bat.
00:18Yeah, I don't think he's â look, we're all human,
00:22so there's some level of â and I think everyone from Aaron Judge's greatest superstars to me
00:33and lesser than that, like, you go through it as hitters, man.
00:37It's hard, and it's â you know, so I don't think he's overly affected by that.
00:44What I'm excited about is he continues to play really good defense,
00:47which has been a good month's stretch of that now.
00:49To me, it's as simple as he's not quite finishing his move
00:53to get him in that strong position where you make really good swing decisions
00:56where you â I'm not going to get too far in the weeds in it.
00:59But, you know, that being said, like, there's â in his last few starts,
01:02he's also hit four balls on the nose.
01:05You know, like, you know, I think of the Sunday night game,
01:08Hamilton makes the great play in the hole â you know,
01:10in the 3-4 hole on a bullet to his left, hits a ball good to left center.
01:15Last night he flies out to the 399 left center.
01:18Today with the bases loaded, he smokes a ball to third.
01:20So in and around, obviously, some struggles offensively without question.
01:25You know, he's not being rewarded when he is barreling it up.
01:27So that's part of it.
01:29That's part of the grind of hitting, and he's equipped to handle that.
01:33And we just got to get him to that good space to where he's repeating his mechanics
01:39and, therefore, controlling the strike zone at a better level.
01:42Here we go.
