00:00Michigan football got caught cheating and we now know the NCAA's punishment on the program over the 2023 science-stealing scandal.
00:08College football insider Pete Thamel reported that the Wolverines are expected to receive a fine of more than $20 million from loss of postseason football revenue for the next two seasons.
00:20And head coach Sharon Moore was given an additional game suspension, which is expected to take place in 2026.
00:27The school already proposed a self-imposed two-game ban for this upcoming season, which is slated for week three and week four.
00:35The fines and suspensions wrap up a nearly two-year investigation into the former national champs after former Michigan staffer Connor Stallions was accused of orchestrating an advanced scouting operation that involved sending individuals to future opponents' games to record their sideline signals.
00:53Now, sign-stealing is something almost every college football program does, but they do it through game film and during games.
01:02Stallions was accused of crossing that line by engaging in prohibited in-person scouting.
01:07Back in 2023, when the scandal broke, then-head coach Jim Harbaugh was suspended by the Big Ten for three games for violating the conference's sportsmanship policy related to the allegations.
01:18And as for head coach Sharon Moore, he'll miss the Central Michigan and Nebraska game due to the suspension.
01:26The Wolverines open their season August 30th against New Mexico.
