Liberal Democrat spokesperson Layla Moran says the party is exploring all options, including an opposition day debate, to discuss Prince Andrew’s titles and ongoing royal privileges. Moran said Parliament should bring “full sunlight” and transparency to the issue, noting that victims were “watching the lavish lifestyle” Andrew continues to lead. Report by Etemadil. 00:00So we are exploring all options about how we can move this sorry story forward.
00:06One of the options we're looking at is an opposition day debate, which is where we would be able to discuss this with the full sunlight of the transparency that Parliament can bring to the situation.
00:18Remember that at the heart of this, we've got victims who are looking on at the lavish lifestyle that Prince Andrew continues to lead.
00:25We don't want to do anything, of course, that the king wouldn't want.
00:29Hopefully everything Parliament does will be done hand in glove with what the palace wants.
00:34But we also know there's legislation missing that would allow the king to strip the duke of that title should he wish to do so.
00:42So there's a lot to discuss. And we basically want to try, if we can, to draw a line under Prince Andrew popping up in headlines every few months,
00:53taking up airtime that frankly should be being used for other much more important things.
