84C MoPic (1989) is a gritty found-footage-style war film directed by Patrick Sheane Duncan. Set during the Vietnam War, it follows a U.S. Army Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol (LRRP) on a dangerous mission deep in enemy territory. The story unfolds through the lens of "MoPic" (Byron Thames), a motion picture cameraman assigned to document the team’s operations.
Led by Sergeant OD (Richard Brooks) and First Lieutenant LT (Jonathan Emerson), the small unit moves through the jungle, facing tension, exhaustion, and the ever-present threat of Viet Cong ambushes. As the mission deteriorates, the men’s courage and humanity are tested amid the chaos of war.
Filmed in a documentary style, the movie delivers a raw, realistic portrayal of combat and brotherhood, praised for its authenticity and tension.
