00:05I said to her in one of my text messages to her, because she didn't respond because I kept asking, why did you file for a divorce?
00:13And she wouldn't say anything.
00:16I tried to reach her mom.
00:18Her mom would not respond either.
00:21I later figured out this felt like a coup.
00:26I don't know if you're familiar with it.
00:29I say it because I'm from Nigerian, that we were ruled at one point by the military.
00:35And so every so often when you want to change leadership, the president, you stage a coup.
00:40Yeah.
00:41And that's how I felt.
00:43I was totally blindsided.
00:45I was no member of her family, whether on the mother's side, on the father's side, reached out to me.
00:54And the only person I actually reached out to was her mom.
00:57And, you know, she didn't respond.
01:01And so I essentially sent her a text message.
01:07I said this was a $5 million rehab project that I took on.
01:12She never shared her concerns or issues with me before filing for divorce.
01:16If you're married, I've been married quite a bit.
01:18I think I understand a little bit about the dynamics of, I should understand a little bit about the dynamics of a relationship.
01:25You discuss issues and say, hey, if this does not change or something does not happen, this is what might come of it.
01:31But we never had those discussions, and I'm happy to share with you text messages where I was essentially blindsided by the divorce file.
01:42I was actually going to ask you if you, if this was something that you saw coming, if conversations had been had prior.
01:48What do you, so what do you think your, what do you think Portia's reason was to file for divorce?
01:53I think I was targeted.
01:56In what way?
01:57I was targeted from day one for financial reasons.
02:02When I filed for divorce from my previous ex-wife, she was in my DM praying for me.
02:12And I, you know, I think I was in a vulnerable position at that time.
02:16And I entertained it.
02:19And so it just kind of snowballed from there.
02:22You know, getting engaged in 30 days, you know, I mean, who does that?
02:27I was out of my, my, my, my goddamn mind to have done that.
02:33And of course, I'm paying dearly for it.
02:37Wow.
02:38You know, that brings me to my next topic.
02:40You know, there was some reports stating that, um, the judge overseeing your divorce case has upheld, um, the prenup that you guys signed before entering marriage.
02:50Um, are you able to share a little bit about what those terms, um, are or look like?
02:57That she'll receive, uh, $40,000 a month in alimony for the length of the marriage, which, which was 14 months.
03:05Um, she gets to stay in the house, all expenses paid, including the mortgage, uh, through, um, uh, for 36 months, up to 36 months.
03:17Yeah.
03:18And if she chooses to, uh, own the home, uh, she, she would have to, you know, refinance the, the, the property in her name and take, um, that 50% equity.
03:31Uh, uh, I mean, uh, I would, she would have to give me, uh, 50% equity in the, in the home.
03:40Wow.
03:41Um, what, I guess, I guess, what is your reaction to that ruling and that decision?
03:47Um, it's, it's basically what I've held from day one, um, about this case when I realized that I was targeted.
03:55Um, I've had prenups in, in, in, in previous relationship and I've honored those prenups, um, without, you know, without reservation.
04:06Uh, this time around, uh, I, I, I chosen to challenge, uh, in court all the way to the Supreme Court if I have to.
04:14Um, so, uh, this, this, um, enforcement of the prenup is going to continue to, to receive legal challenges on the appeal front.
04:24Okay. So you, you're, you're vowing to appeal this decision for sure.
04:28Um, 1,000% is going to be appealed.
04:31One of the things that has recently kind of come out is that Portia said she paid child support for your children while you were in, um, ICE custody is what, what is your reaction to that?
04:44She sent, uh, her two $2,500 payments in one month and that was it.
04:52That didn't even necessarily cover anything.
04:55I heard for the first time in court that that had happened.
04:58And, uh, immediately text my ex-wife asking her, uh, did she receive any funds from, uh, Portia?
05:07Uh, she said, yes.
05:09Portia reached out to her and offered, uh, to, to, to, to give those funds to her.
05:15Um, in my opinion, it was, it was not, um, it wasn't done in good faith.
05:23Uh, it was done to, um, to give a narrative in court or to the public that I, I paid Simon's, uh, um, um, I paid Simon's child support.
05:39Did Portia have a, a relationship with this son of yours that, um, she sent, uh, his mother money for?
05:46Not, not particularly, um, my, my boys, um, were with, you know, were with me, um, for the last five plus years.
05:59They've, uh, they've been with me one week on, one week off.
06:03And quite frankly, my kids don't care who daddy's married to, who daddy's dating.
06:09Um, and, um, they, she never developed any particularly, uh, any particular relationship with my, with my kids.
06:17They came and, they came as, um, uh, they came and, and they would all did family things together,
06:24but there's not one particular child that she has, um, a personal relationship with.
06:30Do you feel that you have a relationship with her daughter?
06:34Um, I don't have a relationship with her daughter, um, simply because, uh, uh, I, I've, I, in the past, um, I found myself where, when I separate, uh, from, um, from any of my exes with children, uh, there's a tendency for them to use their children to get back at me, um, to come, you know, to try to come back into my life.
07:01And Poitier's no exception.
07:03She, uh, she sent me a text telling me that, um, her daughter misses me.
07:09And, um, I didn't respond because I, I, you know, there was an, there was a concerted effort at some point that she realized she had made a mistake, um, and wanted to reconcile.
