00:00Page Six can confirm that Teddy Mellencamp and Edwin Arayave's home was targeted by attempted
00:05burglars. An insider told us, thankfully their security system worked, the police got there
00:10quickly and the perpetrators ran away. The couple went on to tell us in a joint statement,
00:15we are grateful that everyone is unharmed. While we are shaken, we are fortunate to have the latest
00:20in home security systems, which scared off the intruders. Authorities were alerted and swiftly
00:26responded, we appreciate everyone's heightened concern in light of recent criminal activities
00:31in our area, but we are safe. TMZ reported that two people attempted to enter the premises
00:36and access the estranged couple's Los Angeles residence while they were home on the night of
00:41July 21st. However, the home's security system immediately signaled that intruders were present
00:47and the two of them quickly alerted authorities. Even though officers responded immediately,
00:52the suspects were still able to flee the property. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the suspects
00:58had burglarized their neighbor's house just before attempting to try to get into their place.
