00:00Taylor Swift's dad, Scott Swift, is recovering after undergoing a major heart procedure.

00:05The 73-year-old recently had quintuple bypass surgery, a serious operation that creates five

00:10new routes for blood to flow around blocked arteries in the heart. According to a rep for

00:15Taylor, the procedure happened over a month ago and Scott is now doing well and feeling fantastic.

00:21They also made it clear the surgery was not the result of a heart attack. Taylor, along with her

00:26younger brother Austin and mom Andrea, were all by Scott's side through the operation and recovery.

00:31While Taylor hasn't spoken publicly about her dad's surgery, she has been open in the past about both

00:36of her parents' battles with cancer. In a 2019 essay for Elle, she wrote,

00:41Both of my parents have had cancer. It's taught me that there are real problems and then there's

00:46everything else. She later revealed her mom Andrea was also diagnosed with a brain tumor

00:51while being treated for breast cancer. Earlier this month, she was spotted out and about with

00:56boyfriend Travis Kelsey. As Scott continues his recovery, fans are no doubt hoping to see him
