00:00Jillian Michaels isn't holding back when it comes to Netflix's new docu-series about
00:04The Biggest Loser.
00:06The former celebrity trainer broke her silence on Fit4TV, the reality of The Biggest Loser,
00:12which is now streaming.
00:13In a lengthy Instagram post, Michaels pushed back against several claims made in the series,
00:18even sharing screenshots of emails and texts that she says support her side of the story.
00:24One of the biggest points of contention?
00:26The use of caffeine supplements.
00:28The series suggests that caffeine was banned on the show and that Michaels ignored medical
00:32advice from physician Dr. Robert Huizenga.
00:36But Michaels insists otherwise, writing, caffeine was never banned, and adding that fellow trainer
00:41Bob Harper actually suggested contestants take a fat burner brand before she offered her
00:46own alternative.
00:47The docu-series also featured Harper claiming Michaels distanced herself, even saying she
00:52never reached out after his 2017 heart attack.
00:57Michaels clap back with what she says are receipts, sharing a text she allegedly sent Harper that
01:01reads,
01:02The Biggest Loser aired for 17 seasons, first on NBC and later on USA Network, and has faced heavy criticism in the years since.
01:18Former contestants have described humiliating experiences and long-term health issues they
01:23believe stemmed from the show's methods.
01:26Now Michaels says she's working with high-profile attorney Brian Friedman as she considers her
01:30next move, including possible legal action against Netflix, Harper and Dr. Huizenga.
