00:00Dwayne The Rock Johnson is known for his massive, muscle-packed frame, but fans have noticed

00:05he's looking a whole lot leaner lately, and now he's explaining why.

00:09While attending the Toronto International Film Festival, Johnson revealed that his slim

00:13down isn't a health scare — it's all part of preparing for his next big role in

00:18Lizard Music, directed by Benny Safdie.

00:21The 53-year-old had just bulked up for the upcoming MMA film The Smashing Machine, due

00:26out in October.

00:27But now he says it's time to transform again.

00:30Johnson told People,

00:32I'm so excited because I get a chance to hopefully transform again like I was able to do in Smashing

00:37Machine.

00:38Can't wait.

00:39Joking about his new approach, he added that his diet now consists of eating less chicken.

00:44He told fans,

00:45This is me slimmed down, in the process of slimming down.

00:49I still have a long ways to go.

00:51The change hasn't gone unnoticed.

00:54When Johnson arrived in Italy for the Venice Film Festival, fans quickly took to social

00:58media to comment.

00:59Some expressed concern, writing things like, I hope he's not sick because he looks very

01:04thin.

01:05While others crack jokes, one quipping, the rock has turned into a pebble.

01:09But Johnson insists it's all about the art.

01:12He's talked before about how hungry he was for a physical transformation, telling the

01:17Hollywood Reporter that a little voice inside pushed him to see if he could do more with

01:22his career and with his body.

01:24And this isn't the first time he's reshaped himself for a role.

01:27Back in 2023, he shared that training for Black Adam required dieting, training, and conditioning

01:34unlike any other role in his career.

01:37So while the rock may be looking a little smaller these days, it's not without purpose.
