00:00Following Charlie Kirk's tragic assassination at Utah Valley University on September 10th,
00:05video is recirculating online from an episode of the Iced Coffee Hour podcast,
00:09in which the conservative powerhouse details how he would want to be remembered.
00:13If everything completely goes away, how do you want to be remembered?
00:18I mean, if I die?
00:19Everything just goes away. How would you—
00:21if you could be associated with one thing, how would you want to be remembered?
00:25I want to be remembered for courage, for my faith.
00:28That would be the most important thing. The most important thing is my faith in my life.
00:32Kirk, who was the CEO of the nonprofit Turning Point USA, rose to prominence on YouTube and on X,
00:38and became famous for his unapologetic and often boldly stated conservative opinions.
00:44Many times, the 31-year-old shared his Christian faith openly with those he debated.
00:48Christ is not just grace-focused. He's simultaneously truth-focused.
00:53He goes up to the woman who had a career in selling herself for sex.
00:58and said, sin no more.
01:01Now, imagine today how much trouble you would get in if you would go up to somebody and say,
01:06stop sinning.
01:08No, you're being too judgmental.
01:10No, no, you're actually being Christ-like.
01:12If it's a couple pennies out of my tax dollars to feed those don't want food,
01:15I think that's a Christian obligation of the government to fulfill.
01:17But, no, again, it's never biblically obligated to use the state to do that.
01:22The church should do that.
01:23Okay, okay, perfect.
01:23And that's, so I personally give a fair amount of my tithes and my donations to local churches
01:29to help do these things, and I hope everybody else does that as well.
01:33Kirk was also a proponent of the idea that the United States was built as a Christian nation.
01:37One of the reasons we're living through a constitutional crisis is that we no longer have
01:41a Christian nation, but we have a Christian form of government, and they're incompatible.
01:45So you cannot have liberty if you do not have a Christian population.
01:49Kirk grew up in the Chicago suburb of Prospect Heights and founded TPUSA when he was 18 years old.
01:55The nonprofit now has a presence on more than 3,500 campuses.
02:00In February 2025, Kirk joined the Trinity Broadcasting Network to host a weekday talk show called
02:06Charlie Kirk Today.
02:07Kirk is survived by his wife Erica Fransvie, whom he married in 2021, and two young children.
