00:00The flickering started a week ago.

00:02A minor annoyance, I thought.

00:04I'd flipped the switch and the light would sputter, then hold.

00:08Then, two days ago, it changed.

00:11I flipped the switch off, but the bulb in the hallway stayed on, humming with a faint, insistent glow.

00:17I called an electrician.

00:19He spent hours checking the wiring, the fixtures, the breaker box.

00:23He found nothing.

00:25It's impossible, he said, shaking his head.

00:27The circuit is dead, but the light, it's still on.

00:32Now it's spreading.

00:33The kitchen light, the bedroom lamp.

00:36One by one, they refuse to go out.
