00:00Battle of Texas, so to speak, between Dallas and San Antonio goes in favor of the San Antonio Spurs as Wemby is back and playing at a very high level.
00:11Missed some time, of course, last season, 40 points, 15 rebounds, three blocks, and most importantly, no turnovers.
00:19Look, Dallas is going to be a little bit of a work in progress, I think, here, mixing in some new parts, including Kluper flag.
00:25But Spurs have to be really encouraged by what they saw yesterday.
00:28Spurs have to be very encouraged, and the rest of the NBA should be on notice, and quite frankly, they should be scared.
00:35Victor Wimbanyama, first action in eight months, and it looks like he's unstoppable.
00:40You talk about teams who probably have what it takes to make life difficult for him, it's a Dallas Maverick.
00:45Derek Lively is 7'3", Anthony Davis is one of the best defenders in the NBA, and it did not matter one bit for Victor Wimbanyama last night.
00:52The 40 points, the way he was getting it, step backs, turnaround jumpers, reverse dunks and ones, dunking from places you didn't think you could dunk the ball from.
01:00He's only getting better.
01:02I think he might be 7'5".
01:03Now, he's listed at 7'5".
01:04Now, it's just year three for him, and he hasn't played in eight months.
01:07So, he has an opportunity to lead this Spurs team to very high heights this season alone, but in two or three years' time, the rest of the league does not stand a chance.
01:17That's my biggest takeaway.
01:18Also, there's Cooper Flagg on the other side.
01:20They try to play him at point guard.
01:21I don't think that that's necessarily the right move for him, but he's learning in real time.
01:24We saw it work with Jason Kidd and Giannis Antetokounmpo a couple years from now, so maybe that's his goal, to kind of throw Cooper Flagg in the fire, allow him to figure some things out and become a better playmaker once Kyrie Irving's back in the lineup.
