00:00Thank you, President Trump.
00:01You okay?
00:02Yes.
00:03On fentanyl.
00:04We're going to lose it.
00:05We have some good medical help right over.
00:06That's all right.
00:07On fentanyl, according to the CDC data, nearly 330,000 Americans died over the past five
00:20years from fentanyl.
00:21That's one in every 1,000 Americans who died.
00:24It's more than that, but it's all right.
00:29I'll be discussing that with President Xi.
00:31Yes.
00:32So that's actually my question.
00:33I figured it was.
00:34I was wondering, since it mostly comes from China and has caused such carnage in the U.S.,
00:38what are you going to say to convey the seriousness?
00:40And also, a second question for you or Secretary Hegseth.
00:43Is there any evidence that China is now smuggling fentanyl through Venezuela to bypass U.S. and
00:48Mexican port controls?
00:49They are doing that, yes.
00:51But they are paying right now a 20 percent tariff because of fentanyl.
00:56That's billions and billions of dollars that they're paying.
00:59We're actually, on November 1st, the tariff on China goes to 157 percent, which is record-setting
01:08territory.
01:09And we don't want that because it's not sustainable for them.
01:12They can't sustain that.
01:13We don't want them to have to go through that.
01:15So I'm meeting with President Xi, and I would say that first, we have some big issues, like
01:24with the farmers and various other things.
01:26But the first question I'm going to be asking them about is fentanyl.
01:30And if you think about it, they make $100 million.
01:34Think of this.
01:35They make $100 million selling fentanyl into our country, $100 million.
01:41They lose $100 billion with the 20 percent tariff.
01:45So it's not a good business proposition.
01:47It's $100 billion approximately that they have to pay.
01:51It's a big penalty to make $100 million.
01:53So I think they want to do something.
01:55They want to put it on the list.
01:56It's on the list.
01:57It's one of the things we're talking about, and I'm putting it right at the front of the list.
02:02So they pay a very big penalty for doing that.
02:05And I don't think they want to be doing it.
02:07And we'll see what happens at the end of next week.
02:10Because I'll be meeting next week, as you know, along with stopping in Malaysia.
02:16We're stopping in South Korea.
02:18We're stopping in Japan.
02:20I'm meeting with President Xi, actually, in South Korea.
02:23So it'll be the first thing on the list.
02:25Yeah, please.
02:26Yes, Mr. President.
02:27Mr. President.
