00:00You know I was really struck by Michael when I first spoke to him. I think he has a real reverence for actors. I think he really respects the process and I don't think people would necessarily assume that of him but what I love about working with him is he drives towards the energy of a scene.
00:16Be that driving towards a person who has the energy in the scene, the feeling of the scene, if something's working that you never expected, there's a sort of improvisational but also sort of energetic movement that he goes with.
00:30You know people make a lot of noise about him and how much noise he makes and that is true. I don't think he would deny that. When something's happening he runs right towards it.
00:41And so I always feel like he's helping me generate energy. He's also moving towards what feels real, what feels fun and it's very playful you know and you know he does work in spaces that are dangerous you know in the physical space and things like that.
01:00He takes risks but he likes that from his actors in the scenes as well. I wanted to move with that energy and go to those places and we have and it has been so fun, so fun.
01:14Yaya has been open and you know the great thing about working with him has been that we both have as characters logic we have to hold to.
01:24I have a logic and it fights his logic and we are constantly checking and double checking with each other. Very respectful of my character's trajectory and his and how we hold the movie together.
01:37And he listens and he listens and is so thoughtful and is open and he's just a good man.
01:44And outside of acting you know to me that's the most important. Humility and kindness and it has not been hard to love him like a brother.
01:58His wife is sick, he's run out of money and he's really in a difficult position. I think he's asking for help and he's getting it from nowhere and all the sort of bigger institutions that he's given his time to are not really giving back.
02:15And he's frustrated and he's looking for a way out. I always think that Danny is someone who if he doesn't pull this thing off he's going to be done anyway. So he's got one last shot.
02:29For Danny in particular I think Cam is a character that he can't control and is a real wild card. And so all the plans he has she throws into question and she messes with.
02:42And for him who's already you know beginning at the end of his rope things are getting totally messed up and he's trying to make plans to have to deal with her who's a total loose cannon is a very frustrating place for him.
02:56And so their relationship exists I think. They're somewhat similar I think in a lot of ways. And I really like that.
03:05I also really liked this woman at the center of a story who who just doesn't take crap from anyone.
