In this video, golf star Michelle Wie West discusses starting her professional career at just 10 years old. She reflects on how her experience in 2000, without social media, was different from what kids face today. Michelle also shares why she strongly encourages her own children to play sports, and the many benefits of being on a team.

00:00I was probably one of the first people to enter the golf space at such a young age.
00:05I learned a lot through that process.
00:07I started my golf career really young.
00:09When you're 10 years old yourself, you don't really think of much.
00:12You kind of don't think that anything's abnormal.
00:15Also, back in 2000, there wasn't any social media.
00:18So what the kids are going through now and what I went through, it was completely different.
00:22So I think the landscape has changed in regards to my own children.
00:26I just want them to play sports, whether or not that equates into professional career or not.
00:32There is so many benefits of children playing sports, especially team sports.
00:37I personally think it's great.
00:38My five-year-old loves playing sports.
00:40So I just want to continue to support her on that path.
